Well, better late than never but the classic horror film series for me starts tonight. Rented "Psycho" (original, of course), "Black Sunday" (don't know if I have ever seen it) and "The Other" (who couldn't like an evil twin? Been YEARS since I've seen it but still remember the pitchfork in the haystack deathscene!
Sadly, no good Vincent Price (I own a bunch on VHS but VCR is acting up) or what I actually went to find...BURNT OFFERINGS! AARGH! Gonna try another place tomorrow but I doubt I'll find it here in Nowhere, USA. |

Can I pick Vincent Price's guest spot in the Brady Bunch when they visit Hawaii? LOL!!! LOVED IT. He was the crazy professor who kept talking to that statue.
What about "the Raven?" Had VP, Boris and Peter Lorre! "Tales of Terror" has to be one of my all-time Vincent Price films. Three (if I remember) short EA Poe tales. The Black Cat, with Peter Lorre, was the best!

I'm not familiar with Conqueror Worm - will have to check that out!
I read somewhere that he went to the wake of Bela Lugosi, who was buried in his Dracula costume. Peter Lorre turns to him and says "Do you think we should drive a stake through his heart just in case?"

Not sure how many of you would have seen him but MY all-time fav horror host was Sir Graves Ghastly! Any Detroiter my age worth his / her salt would know him immediately! He was creepy cool!

He hosted the weekly PBS tv series "Mystery " from '81 to '89 if my poor memory serves me right
And I loved him on Batman--my brothers were into Superman & Spiderman but I liked Batman the best

If we're only naming Horror films...I'd have to go with House Of Wax, The Fly, and House On Haunted Hill. However, I also enjoyed his recuring role as 'Egghead' in the 'Batman' series...if I remember correctly, didn't he use to host a weekly series as well??

It was The Capitol Theater for me & my brothers--they would take turns taking me there on the weekend & then every Friday night -channel 20 would show Creature Feature with The Count Gore Divol as the host --was so in love with him as a kid--watched him every Fri night at 11:30 pm--That show was where I found my love for anything horror --Vinecent Price--Creature From The Black Lagoon--It Came From Outer Space--all those great older movies where the suspense & " what's gonna happen next " was the order of the day--nowadays movies rely on blood -guts & gore which I love but I also love those older movies where what scared you was what you couldn't see on the tv screen----several times I'd be so scared of whatever movie they played & my mom would get the sleeping bags out & her & I would sleep in the living room just so whatever monster I had just seen wouldn't get me--talk about wondeful chilhood memories !!

Growing up, my brothers and I would go to the Community Center on Saturdays and Sundays to watch these movies. Didn't have VCRs back then, so the place would be packed with all these kids watching these horror movies. The place was so loud with everyone screaming at the same time, you could cut fear and tension with a knife!!! Talk about bringing back some great memories!!!

....EASILY ONE OF MY FAVOURITE FEMALE VAMPS...I HAVE THEM BOTH,IT'S ONE OF THOSE 2 MOVIES ON 1 DVD IDEAS...PICKED IT UP FOR $5....TO ME THAT WAS A STEAL.
