Yeah Metallark these guys have the "old-school" scene flowing through thier viens,they uphold the "image/aesthetics" along with the sound of the 80's with bands like the old-Slayer's first 4 albums from 83' to 86' and Bathory's vocals,Sodom...ect...this is what "metal" is all about,they roll thrash,speed.death into one and again with thier image is stating that they hail the 80's and are saying fuck off to new-nu-aged metal scene.

Yes, I saw it. I actually thought it was cool to listen to Painkiller backwards! LOL!!! All the bullshit that that "fair weather preacher" was reading into the messages, though, THAT was more than over the edge. The comments that followed (and I read every one) were really into the two camps that almost inevitably form: those that bash him and those that blinldy follow.
One of the reasons I never posted that vid here. By definition, the "fair weather preacher" only preaches in fair weather. I have been on many a college campus when you have someone such as that idiot in WAY over his head trying to shout down a Dr. of Theology to no avail. Their whole point is to garner attention, not to necessarily be proven "right" in their (silly) assertions.
Cool video, though. Were it not such BS, I'd even post it. I do NOT believe Priest have ever been "evil." Quite the contrary, I have always drawn great inspiration from them. From personal experience, I have always known Christians to be one of the most intolerant groups around. Sad, but true. I understand what you are trying to say here Priest Hammer at least 70% of "heavy metal" music deals with the"dark side" not all of it,but alot of it and they read too much into it your right.Its a show just like Vincint Price (actor )used to play an evil character in most his movies but he wasn't evil,its a movie just like what heavy metal bands write about like Hellrider,Demonizer,Deal With The Devil...I know that Rob Himself probably believes in christianity in one way or another but yet he still likes to induldge into the dark side of lyrics and songs because theres something thats cool about writting about the devil and the pit of hell,demons,evil..ect....
I know you don't like to hear this but its true(haha) theres just something thats cool about the darkside vs. a band like Stryper singing about good and god/jesus...thats just not "cool" its not "agressive" where as singing about evil is,its just the way it is in metal...again not all songs are about the devil and hell ect..
I know this,there are upbeat and positive sides to heavy metal as well,but only about 30% ...if we go back and try and disect Priest's discography we would find that 70% of all thier songs are leaning towards the darkside because "thats what is cool". I am not a christian and I strongly do not believe in god but I have many friends that do believe..ect...its all good,but I even know that when they write about the darkside its just a show but its cool!!!!! lol!!!
If Priest took out all the evil shit like Hellrider and Judas Rising,Sinner,Ripper,Genocide,Grinder,Hell Is Home(lyrics) it wouldn't be Judas Priest.You may say these songs are not "evil" but you know what I mean and what I'm saying they lean towards the darkside because the darkside is cool. lol! The speed tempo in that track "The Menace" is what I was talking about,with sped up tunes like this inbetween the slower paced tracks makes an album more interesting by far,it actually makes the slower paced tracks more interesting.Thats what Heaven & Hell should of done with the"The Devil You Know" album instead of settleing on all mid-paced tracks,they don't have one fast type of track on that album and I think that it hurt it. Not that your trying to keep up with Black Sabbath or anything,but for other heavy metal listeners I've always noticed that they like a mix of fast songs within an album,they don't all have to be fast but with 10 songs on an album they want at least 5 of them fast and the other 5 can be slow or mid-paced.Just an observation. So at the age of 12, I realized that not all adults were more intelligent than 12 year olds!
I think I've heard this one from you before but not sure if you've updated it or not,none the less good job Meltdown,mid-paced tracks are cool as well and I think faster paced tracks company these mid-paced tracks rather well throughout an album,with some faster songs it makes the slower songs better and more interesting between songs,totally psycological.
