Heya JD! I'm not too bad thanks! About to head off to bed LOL! How are you?
It was a field hockey game, I play for a club here in the local womens competition NFL isn't really popular here, some people watch it, very rarely you will see people play it for fun in the park or whatever. My Dad loves NFL LOL, he supports the San Diego Chargers. He's one of maybe two peope I know who actually watch it. The biggest sport here that you could say is similar to NFL is rugby, it's basically the national sport. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. Good morning everyone. It's another day of work in schizoid weather here. I just cannot seem to find the time to post much because of so many distractions but I promise to post more to see how everyone is and more. BTW I requested time off to try and see Priest on August 7th in Phoenix and will try and get tickets soon! Wish me luck! See everyone later, getting off break. |

I do, however, have a WONDERFUL 8X10 picture of Rob onstage hanging on my wall in the hallway courtesy of our dear guido!!!!! Ron, thanks for the kind words! I have tried to get the kid to listen to ANYTHING other than the stuff he does now !! He does enjoy my work but I think that's only as a courtesy. HA!!!!!!!! I am pleased that he is genuinely excited. The tix came yesterday and he was pretty jazzed. I think he is going to love the show. It is actually the perfect gig to take him to since it is more of a "classic" setlist. It will give him a wonderful taste of true Priest energy!
Speaking of which, I am thrilled everytime I see pics from the recent tour!! Reminds me of that awesome night in Detroit with Guido, HRMG and her husband! What a great night! I think I saw that Val had asked if anyone has caught a drumstick yet..? Well, I have DODGED several! HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! I have no practical use for them as I do not play and the Princess would surely make me stuff it in a drawer or something if I were to bring one home so it really makes no sense for me to grab one as they whizz by my head!! Hello boys 'n girls..
How are we all today? I'm feeling pretty ill after watching Jens Voigt go down on the tour de france today. Sickening to see someone crash like that.
I pray that he's going to be ok. |

Yeah, I went yesterday too- its a good film, but I am starting to see the point of over-18s only screenings... I shouldn't really complain about all the kids though as most of them were very young and very good considering its a long film thats not really aimed at small children (especially in humour- much disgust was voiced over all the kissing )
Hope your cat gets better, its alway scarey when pets get sick, not to mention expensive. Well, it's rest day on the Tour de France so I'm left to catch up on life lol.. Sad, but I haven't been in the gym since the tour started. I'm glued to the tv, checing twitter and any info I get on the racing lol. Today a great gift was bestowed on me.. I am now the proud owner of a Honda scooter. Not quite the road hog I had in mind but it's fun. I look ever so gay tearing down the streets of my town in it but, wtf, it's faster than my bicycle and more fun than my car lol.
It's on a loan until my 200 arives. I'm too short to hold up Craig's 650 so this will have to do for now. I may get attached enough to it to keep it permanantly. It's the first time I've ever had a scooter the only difference so far is that there is no clutch but it has gears. |

I do have to admit, Rob was not as good in Detroit as he was in Cleveland. He had a day off before the Cleveland show and I think that helped tremendously. Seriously, if you would have heard him sing Victim of Changes in Cleveland..... holy crap...... I'm not kidding, I held my breath and had tears in my eyes - it was crystal clear and pitch perfect..... I had goose bumps. I also think Rob hurt himself during the Detroit show. He was limping at the end and normally he would shake hands with the fans in the front row, but I don't think he could bend over. I didn't see what happened, but that also may have had something to do with it. But Rob was still amazing in Detroit. I LOVED the way everyone in the band was enjoying themselves, laughing, smiling and joking around. And the Detroit crowd was OUTSTANDING!! Even Whitesnake loved us!! The Cleveland crowd was not very loud in my opinion - Rob had to keep motioning for the crowd to be louder. He never had to do that in Detroit - we sang at every opportunity and that put a HUGE smile on their faces!
It was AWESOME meeting you and Guido too! We had a FANTASTIC time! | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | OK Ladies and Germs, I suppose now is as good a time as any to post my "review" of the Detroit show!
So, as you are all aware Guido and I met with HRMG and her husband for dinner prior to the show. WONDERFUL people! Very nice and tremendous fans. It was my honor to share some private time with them. We were at a small bar about two miles from the venue so we managed to get pictures and eating all done before scooting on over to the show.
I have to admit, I was stunned when the ushers directed guido and me to our seats!! FOURTH row in front of Glenn!! AMAZING!!! Anyway, we were not even seated fifteen minutes when David Coverdale walked onto the stage! I find it hard to believe he is in his sixties. Looked great and sounded INCREDIBLE! Has not really lost much of anything vocally, which is truly amazing in this business. He was entertaining and engaging and in great voice. I thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Priest were, of course, awesome. I mean, they really brought the show! Nice timing and a set list that was much better for Rob than some I have heard in the past. Nice that they did British Steel, really. It fits his range so much better these days. Enjoyed the "extras" as well but, I simply do not agree that Rob "hit all the notes" as so many would have us believe. JUST my OPINION, of course but he does NOT sing at the level he did twenty- twenty five years ago. He just cannot hit those high notes like he used to..BUT, he can scream and it IS mind blowing. A truly magnificent performer. Overall, just a great GREAT show.
Still mulling over whether or not I will attend the Vegas gig. There are plenty of VERY good seats still available. I must say, Detroit really supports their Metal bands!! HUGE crowd there that night. Kind of disappointing that there are so many great seats here so close to the show date. I will decide shortly as to my attendance. ANYWAY, just a wonderful time in Detroit and I cannot begin to thank guido enough for his hospitality in his hometown!! Those of you that have yet to see Priest this time around are in for a memorable evening, I can assure you!!!!!!

Morning! Just got home from the vets, one of our cats was not 100%, looks like he was in a fight and got a bite somewhere which had started going bad, so he got some jabs and medicine to take LOL!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! |

A fine Saturday to you all!!!!! Got a little more sleep last night and I am feeling somewhat better after the debacle that was my journey home. Not sure if it is just me but I have noticed that almost EVERY time I fly from the east back to the west coast, there is some kind of problem. Why is that???? I swear, the trips I have made home from Philly, NY , etc. were nightmarish! I just cannot figure it out!! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much to do today since yesterday was a complete waste! I even have some music that simply MUST be completed! I suppose that is a good thing. Anyway, kudos to spa for handling that ridiculous "Most Respected" thing! I am not tech-savvy enough to know how the offender managed to utilize that position to create trouble (as has been implied) but I am thankful nonetheless. Well done, spa!! |

I honestly believe you. In fact, I am sure there are several shows where Rob is better than others. The voice is an instrument just as a guitar but you cannot just go back stage and re-tune it every gig. Some nights are better than others and he IS older and more 'weathered" than he was!!! To do what he does at his age is truly amazing, I assure you.
I enjoyed the show immensely. The Band was great and the music rocked!! They have never disappointed. I do not believe they can!!! HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it's almost a week later...but I just wanted to drop in and tell all of you that Judas Priest promptly DESTROYED New Jersey last Saturday (11th)!!! The show was purely, simply, utterly, irrefutably OUTSTANDING...all five members were in top form, and some 10,000+ of us sounded more like 20,000; roaring our approval and praise at EVERY opportunity!!! Great stage and effects (paled only by some of their larger presentations back in the early-mid '80s), which suited the show and the songs perfectly. It was awesome also, to hang out for a few hours prior to the show with many members of the HALFORD QUORUM...many of whom I'd met before, as well as seeing/meeting some new faces that I'd only corresponded with on the Quorum's messageboard. Some of these people are just DIE-HARDS, man....one guy (Dylan, who is 'BS2K' on the Q) came from Utah to see that night's show as WELL as the following night's show at Jones Beach. Bill ('Helloween') and his wife Deb came up from FLORIDA to their old stomping grounds of NJ to see the show, others came from Virginia and Maine!!! I mean....talk about LOYALTY!! It was great seeing all of them, and sharing food (that we all brought w/ us) along with the grill one Quorumite was good enough to bring enabled us to eat quite heartily! Peggy (my wife) and I snuck away when it was getting to be that time when Whitesnake would be taking the stage....just as we made it to our seats, they were one-third of the way into "Bad Boys," and Coverdale and co. sounded really, really good. It was Peggy's first time witnessing Whitesnake and I knew she really wanted to see 'em...esp. Coverdale...LOL....
Storm forecasts were threatening the whole day, but it didn't really start in earnest until just after the show was over....when we walked out from the protective roofing of the seated area (PNC is partly outdoors...esp. with a lawn area that can house some 10,000 all by itself), that's when we felt the rain and it got heavier as we made our way toward the parking lot. Lightning and thunder...the whole bit....a fitting end to the maelstrom of metal we'd witnessed!!! I looked over at my wife and said, "Storm warning, but there's no fear..." She just smiled big...she must've sensed I was making a Priest reference. We caught up with a few of the people we were hanging out with earlier that afternoon to say good-bye and other well-wishing departures and made our perilous way back to the motel room we scored upon arriving in NJ. A great day/night and a KILLER show!!! Priest can STILL deliver!!!! BELIEVE IT! |

I AGREE RON ABOUT THE RECORD STORE. A FRIEND OF MINE WORKED IN A LOCAL RECORD STORE. HE WOUND UP BUYING IT LATER ON.
THEY SPECIALIZED IN UNUSUAL ITEMS. YOU ALWAYS LEARNED ABOUT NEW BANDS BEFORE THEY BECAME POPULAR. WE USED TO LISTEN TO BANDS LIKE HOLOCAUST, THE GODZ, LEGS DIAMOND AND EVEN BANDS LIKE PRIEST SAXON, MAIDEN BEFORE THEY WERE KNOWN TO THE WORLD. I REMEMBER PURCHASING MY SAD WINGS OF DESTINY PICTURE DISK THERE. THEY GOT AN OVATION THAT WAS TREMENDOUS. (I'D SAY A STANDING OVATION, BUT AS WE ALL KNOW NO ONS SITS DOWN FROM THE FIRST NOTE OF THE SHOW TO THE LAST ANYAY)
RIPPER AND VICTIM OF CHANGES BLEW ME AWAY. I FELT LIKE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN THEM. AFTER SEEING THEM 60 OR 70 TIMES TO STILL GET THAT EXCITEMENT WAS GREAT.
SOME GUY JUMPED ON STAGE AND SANG A FEW MINUTES WITH HALFORD. DON'T KNOW IF THAT WAS AT ALL TH E SHOWS.
THE AUDIENCE WAS LOUD AND THE PARTICIPATION WAS A LOT OF FUN. SOME SONGS WE SANG MORE THAT ROB.
AT THE END OF THE SHOW THEY STOOD IN FRONT OF THE AUDIENCE LIKE THEY NORMALLY DO, BUT A LITTLE LONGER. EVERYONE WAS SOING UP TO THE STAGE SHAKING HANDS AND GETTING HI 5S CHANTING PRIEST PREIST PRIEST, THEN THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. THE SMILES ON THEIR FACES WERE GREAT.
ALL IN ALL THEY TRUELY WERE THE METAL GODS LAST NIGHT.
ONLY DRAWBACK OF THE NIGHT. I WANTED TO BUT THE SAD WINGS OF DESTINY T-SHIRT. IT'S A GREAT LOOKING SHIRT. BUT THEY DIDN'T HAVE A 2 OR 3 XL. I'LL FIND ONE SOME WHERE.
AND MY VOICE IT VERY SCRATCHY TODAY FROM SINGING SO LOUD. OR WITH MY VOICE, SHOULD I SAY ATTEMPTING TO SING?

ALL THE SONGS FROM BRITISH STEEL WERE GREAT INCLUDING MY FAVORITE - YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OLD TO BE WISE. BUT WERE K.K AND GLENN EVER TIGHT ON THE END OF STEELER.

I simply must know their secret. How do they take the same foods most all restuarants order to serve and turn it into an unqualified disaster. I worked in Kitchens for years and never in my life have made such vile things. Hell School didn't have food this crappy! GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. AND WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY IT IS. PRIEST ROCKED MY WORLD LAST NIGHT. THEY WERE ABOSLUTELY ON TOP OF THIE GAME. ALL THE SONGS FROM BRITISH STEEL WERE GREAT INCLUDING MY FAVORITE - YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OLD TO BE WISE. BUT WERE K.K AND GLENN EVER TIGHT ON THE END OF STEELER.
