Yes, isn't it sad? The medal count at the Olympics is what matters these days...
Still, I watched women's fencing, rowing, dressage, pistol(?), more rowing (New Zealand murdered the competition), and sailing. 
Dressage is beautiful. I must go and see it for myself sometime. It's one of the few sports at the Olympics that involves animals.

I hope to see some great moments in sports this year, hopefully because the athletes have worked for it, not because of the extra chemicals in their system.

They should all play naked. That would make things a little more even.

It was quite a show - wasn't it?   Such a grand display of the Chinese culture and it's history.   And yes, Soy, it would be wonderful to see the world interact peacefully and harmoniously after the Olympics moves on.

THE OLYMPIC OPENING CEREMONIES...SPECTACULAR DISPLAY! WELL DONE...DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU,BUT AT LEAST FOR A SHORT TIME,WHEN THESE CEREMONIES TAKE PLACE,IT LEAVES ME WITH A SENSE OF HOPE,THAT MAYBE ONE DAY ALL NATIONS COULD INTERACT
