@Val, the backwards button on your turntable was your finger. Hold on the record and spin backwards. Good luck getting the speed right though. I remember doing this a few times as a kid. I think Led Zeppelin was the first band accused of doing this. Believe they even had a term for it. Backward masking. If you really wanted to hear something this way you could probably trick yourself into thinking it's there but basically just a mind thing. Dismissed this stuff as ridiculous a long time ago and still hate Al and Tipper because of it. I even voted Nader once just because it was that or go with Gore. Yup, that's what they showed in the "Dream Deceivers" documentary. Allegedly, the way Rob sang the word "me" (and quite possibly "be") in the chorus sounded like "do it" when played backwards. He even had to justify in court why he sang those words the way he did for the recording. Plus I'm sure that the plaintiffs were not aware that it was actually a cover song.
