OK thats enough for me here. I'm leaving this site. This is supposed to be Iron Maiden discussion not Burce bashing. And I'm tired of all this "fan-boyism" name calling smart crack stuff just because I'm a big  fan of Iron Maiden. I'm taking my insight and opinions somewhere else. Later.

Spapad, I know you do not know me personally so you have no way of knowing if I'm telling the truth or not. I am.
I know about the collaborations and I thought they got along also. Especially considering they toured together a few times.
Also after my earlier experiences here there is no way I would post something like this if it were not true. Bruce did not
use Rob's name nor say it was directed his way but he did come out on stage and basically deride gays.  Not just one comment but several.
If Rob was backstage I'm sure he could hear it. Personally I think this is very disrespectful to him. I'll post the exact day
and venue so that if anyone here went to that concert they can dispute this. He did the same thing to Ozzy during the Ozzfests that he was on
so why not Rob. It probably is a case of what J.D. said but he does it over and over. This is why I hate him that's all.

  Fri. Aug. 11 2000
Post Gazette Pavillion
Burgettstown, Pa. (outside Pittsburgh)
 Iron Maiden (Queensryche)(Halford)

I went to the same show 12 days later at Blossom music center.
Watched Halford, watched Queensryche, left.

I agree with you spapad.I'm not saying that Budred is lying,Bruce very well may of said all that, but maybe he was on a roll of being an asshole that he is? By now,I'm sure he regrets what was said if he said it,as spa is correct...Rob and Bruce are good friends. Rob and Bruce are also good friends with "that guy in Saxon" as well...hahahaha!!!

Considering Rob and Bruce are friends, and have even collaborated on an excellent song, perhaps  you read the situation too deaply.
Just my opinion, which dont mean much, but I can't see Bruce slammin Rob like what you said.  As I said, my opinion, but I don't see it.

I left this comment elsewhere but I'll leave it here for (serious Maiden) fans.
....First Brian this is not directed at you it's for all.

In 2000 I went to see Iron Maiden and Halford. When Maiden came out to the
stage Bruce started ranting about gays. He was talking about how wrong it is,
how we don't need gays around, and basically derogatory comments like that.
Even though he is entitled to his opinion saying this knowing full well Rob is probably
backstage and within earshot is beyond disrespectful. The first two times I saw Priest
were in 81' and 82' with non other than Maiden opening up. This is what turned me onto
them. I became a fan of their's. My point is that Priest took them out when they were no
body's, gave them exposure, and probaly were responsible for their early sucess. Then
when he has a chance to return the favor what does he do. Tells his audience how bad
it is to be gay. I can't help but think this can only hurt not help Rob. From that moment on
I have hated and always will hate Bruce Dickenson.

I think "Bring your daughter... to the slaughter" is the worst Maiden song ever. And has the crappiest Bruce's (singing?) ever.
He is a real good singer, and his worst performance, is way much better than Blaze's best performance... but this song makes me puke...

Yeah, actually if they were going to put out "shit material" for the next 25 years after Powerslave then they should of kept the band sounding like the first 5 albums(lol!) Take a look at Saxon's new album...the song they chose to display off the new album "Live To Rock" is absolutely terrible and embarrasing and nothing more than an old washed up crappy tune. One more track offthe new album "Hell Cat" sucks big time too, just a shitty song thats boring just like Iron Maiden did with Different World and Benjamin Bragg for thier last album but the other songs on it are good progressive style Maiden in my opinon.

The other 11 songs on Saxon's new album Into The Labyrinth are classic Saxon at thier best. See,I have opinions about bands....is there one song by Bruce that sucks to you? Or are you going to sit there and tell me every song Bruce has done is equal to another? Fess up fanboy.

J.D. Diamond is stuck in the 80's  and thinks all Maiden albums should sound just like they did in the 80'sand they should never change or progress their sound at all but instead be stuck back in the 80's for the rest of their career and just sit there stagnant like some old dinosaur band that can't come up with new and fresh material. Ha! So I guess they should have just stopped with Powerslave and started all over again with Iron Maiden and rerecorded the first five albums and just changed it up a little here and there with a different title and J.D. Diamond would be a happy joker camper with his 80's rehash Maiden albums to keep him happy.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, February 02, 2010 3:38:36 PM
Yes you are correct jimmy. However,I'm not claiming that "I am right" and Brian is wrong,I'm just stating facts of opinions I've gathered throughout the last 20 years, wich is still only "opinions" we know. Now Brian doesn't like the Blaze era and neither do I but I am just courious as to hear if he doesn't like an Iron Maiden song by Bruce? I mean opinions are opinions your right, but if one individual even here on this forum claims to like everything Rob has done may have that right to that opinion but come on...it goes further than that and pushes that individual into "fan-boyism" and thats what I'm claiming Brian Evans to be.

Just as I've seen on this forum from time to time about Rob and how everything and anything he does is top notch blah blah blah it makes that person's opinion invalid while comparing opinions to other fans because the other fans are extreamly more "picky" while grading an album's material.

Take a look at hellrider for example...he is sweating bullets waiting for this next Priest album and its not the wait thats killing him,its the anticipation as to weather this record will be a quality classic british metal album or another Nostradamus,he isn't just waiting for this album knowing it will turn out like he and I want it to turn out like,he is waiting to confirm by first listen if he is going to like this record or not.

Just like right before Nostradamus was released he and I were pulling for a Painkiller...but sadly it did not happen,if he and I were like Brian Evans...there would be no worries because then Priest could put out "ANYTHING" and we would like it no matter what. And that is a "fan-boy".I don't believe that he likes all Iron Maiden songs across the board(with Bruce),I think he is just obsessed with the band's name, album covers and the hype of Iron Maiden because everybody else likes them,if he does then I don't belive he has an opinion of quality songs...if it says Iron Maiden and its Bruce singing, its going to be just as good as Piece Of Mind,or Number Of The Beast and I think that is bullshit,I get sick of fanboys like this.So I'm not claiming that my opinion is the right one jimmy,I'm just calling him out on being an irritating "fan-boy",thats all.

Guys, this argument is stupid, one of you likes some of Iron Maidens albums, one of you likes all of them. Debating who are better musicians, singers etc is all a matter of opinion, you can't be right or wrong.

Oh Gee...somebody else who thinks "Bloodbrothers" is "shit"(lol!) Brave New World is half great and half shitty.Just like Point Of Entry is. There ya go Vail...Flash Of The Blade,1984 I bought Powerslave the day it came out as I was already an established Iron Maiden fan from 1982 when I heard The Number Of The Beast album. Back in  late 1984 when Powerslave was released,it was thier 5th studio album and they were on top of the world..next to Judas Priest that is,but they were kick ass back then.

A crappy Maiden album back in those days was unheard of. Now-a-days a "great kick ass classic album" is unheard of from this once great band.  I'll give them only credit for the last album A Matter Of Life And Death even though thier 2 hit singles are utterly "shitty" in Different World and Benjamin Bragg...2 horrible tracks the band chose to display for the fans...why I have no clue...they could of hidden those 2 shit tracks and replaced them with any of the remainding 8 songs wich are actually worth a crap. But from 1986 Somewhere In Time.....till 2003 Dance Of Death...Iron Maiden is utterly overrated. They are overrated now anyways.

1980 - Iron Maiden debut
1981 - Killers
1982 - The Number Of The Beast
1983 - Piece Of Mind
1984 - Powerslave

Nothing that Maiden has done since can touch these first 5 studio albums, nothing at all. Seventh Son(1988) was "ok" and Brave New World is half ok,the last album(AMOLAD) was getting better but really guys...nothing comes even close to the quality of songs from the bands first 5 studio LPs,not even close. Everyone has opinions thats cool, but throughout the years talking to oldschool Maiden fans they all say exactly what I am saying right here. Its all the newer fan-boys that charrish every track they do as if it is as good as the first 5 albums.Blahhhh!!  You gettin fired up yet Brian?? LOFL!!!!!!!

This song's for the really really REALLY serious Iron Maiden fans. At least the ones who can discern good quality songs from crappy ones like Blood Brothers. Enjoy!!

[Brian_Evans] Monday, February 01, 2010 11:21:28 PM
I said that I didn't care for the Blaze era so all this about me liking everything Iron Maiden has done is false and CALLING ME A FAN-BOY IS FALSE AND just shows how you are making things up to use against me. Like I said this is for serious Iron Maiden discussion only (hint). Bruce is top notch and way better than that guy in Saxon and second to only Rob Halford, a close second. Iron Maiden is not overrated. Three headed monster in guitarist. Top notch drums and bass. I'll get fired up if that the way you want it! Joker!

That "Blood Brothers" song is utterly "terrible" Brian.Couldn't you of posted The Wicker Man or Ghost Of The Navigator or Nomad, even The Thin Line...but "Blood Brothers"?? Fucking terrible.Actually I'm glad you posted this track because it shows that a top notch vocalist and bassist write shit songs and never finish an album with exellence. Alls you have in Maiden is Steve Harris...he is better than Ian Hill, but Rob is better than Bruce(duh) Ken & Glen are better than all 3 guitarists in Maiden and Scott is a better drummer than Nicko. There you go fan boy.... All you rant about is the musicianship of the Iron Maiden members, thats all you really can say about them because of how overrated they are.Now...weren't you about to "get fired up"??

Maiden is one of my top favorites (along with Priest). You are right, they are great!!  I guess the only band I know of that holds a candle to them would be Priest. Two very different but great bands.
[Brian_Evans] Monday, February 01, 2010 8:18:31 PM
Iron Maiden has one of the best metal vocalist of all time, Bruce. Maybe the best metal bass player of all time, steve Harris. The three headed monster in guitarist - Dave Murray, Janick Gers, Adrian Smith and one of the best drummers in metal, Nicko. You can't say that about many metal bands.
[Brian_Evans] Monday, February 01, 2010 7:56:32 PM

Thought I'd start it off with Blood Brothers because all us serious Iron Maiden fans are brothers in metal. Up The Irons!
