Was awesome...you surprise me again..luv that band now..will check them out.. | | Necroticist wrote: | | Oh dude - if u never do anything for me again - u gotta listen to 'Script For A Jester's Tear' - is bloody amazing....in '82 was like the classic Genesis was reborn....THAT good | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | Cannot say I have. There were a few "imitators" back then. Not surprising given the incredible music Genesis put out in those days! | | Necroticist wrote: | | That track is currently playing.....closely followed by a BBC session that includes 'twilight alehouse' - very obscure track....if ya like them, have u heard early Marillion? so similar is unreal... | | Deep Freeze wrote: | | Two GREAT ones, Michael! LOVE them!!
I have to thank you, Necro!! A virtual flood of memories from my teen years thanks to the Foxtrot/Genesis reference!!!! I recall being in my room with friends, playing Supper's Ready while we all went into a "self-induced" altered state of mind, as it were... HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trying to repeat those lyrics..trying to understand their meaning. Looking up Greek mythology in an effort to "get" what it was that Gabriel and company were trying to say.... Ahhh...the memories. |
