Vail, I just watched the South Park episode where they find the guy frozen in ice all of 32 months! Funny as hell. Remember THAT? If so, Cartman makes a reference to this movie when Stan and Kyle are digging up the "Ice man" (Steve!). He lowers the rope and starts talking about Sandra Dee. It is Olivia Newton-John from this movie.
Ah, how sad not to be able to catch these cultural references....LOL!!!

Nah, I wouldn't be so cruel. In a nutshell, sweeping can change both the speed and "curl" of the stone. Look at a shot after an opponent "takes out" a rock. A sweeper often will start sweeping the other's rock to get them out of the "house" or target.Speeds it up, iow.
As for strategy, you'll often see what I am watching now: throwing "guards" that will be in front of the target / house. They can try to "curl" around them or hit them head-on to take them out. When I refer to the yelling, it is usually the person / "skip" who threw the rock and is watching the line or trajectory of the shot rock and is shouting at the sweepers to do one thing or another. Sweep with more pressure, less, not at all, etc.
So, when are we going to play?

10 "ends" (like bowling). The sweepers can get the rock to speed up, slow down or "curl" one direction or another. I prefer watching the women. They scream more! Even better was in the past when they actually used brooms instead of these new swiffers. Wonder if they clean floors too?

Deep Freeze wrote:
Yeah, I was actually wondering about that. What is the point with the brooms?? Do they actually have an affect on the stone?? If so, what?

See? Becoming a convert! NOTHING like playing it.
10 "ends" (like bowling). The sweepers can get the rock to speed up, slow down or "curl" one direction or another. I prefer watching the women. They scream more! Even better was in the past when they actually used brooms instead of these new swiffers. Wonder if they clean floors too?

Morning everyone. The start of a very busy day here, getting sorted to head up north for the weekend - it's my mums 50th birthday party tomorrow, which my cousin and I basically got bullied in to organising, i.e. I got a text message from my mum saying 'I WANT A PARTY!!!!' So I'm a little stressed right now LOL! Just hoping everything goes smoothly!
Hope you are all having a good day!
