Well Michael, I am not sure that the measure of a fan can be gauged by their presence on this site, nor do I believe that was the point of the conversation. Although you have so eloquently stated your opinion, I honestly think this is more about the sheer rudeness of some that choose to "pop off" with obscenities and other hurtful invectives while they denegrate this site and the members that they leave behind.
I agree with you that there are some very good people that have left us and I have no doubt they have taken up "cyber-residence" elsewhere and are quite happy. There are also a number that are NOT that great and are NOT missed, which is what I believe I said. The larger portion of those that have left are really not all that missed. Certainly there are exceptions. Needless to say, you are entitled to your opinion, regardless of how it is expressed.
I think guido makes a great point. There are many that flip a "cyber-finger" at us, suggest we all take up residence in Hades and storm off only to come back again and again. Those are some of that latter portion I mentioned before. |
