I knew a friend who had one and I splet is his guest room next to his room and never even heard the thing. But then again, I had Flora in the bed with me and she snored back then! She had to have her tonsils removed and has not sored since.
Wouldn't hurt to get sleep tested though, just to see if it's happening.
I'm with you, if I were forced to sleep on my back I would go insane! Been a belly sleeper/ fetal position sleeper my whole life, would never get an ounce of sleep on my back.
I'm off for now, Flora wants my computer.

Haaa! I actually did that once as a kid. Pin in an electric socket as a kid!

Were I gone? Ahh...you'd never even notice. More accurately, you'd never know! LOL! I should also make out a will sometime. Should have a clause in it that the one who inherits my wads of cash will have to make a post here to tell everyone of my demise. Then again, Calvin doesn't type very well....

Don't think I ever mentioned it before, Spa, but pop works for the mega-medical company Fisher Scientific. High position at that...

I can't believe he wouldn't have the newest machine. Damn think was still a bit loud. Then again, I am an extremely light sleeper. Plus, I'd have to sleep on my damn back!!  Ah...maybe someday.

Becks: thanks for the kind words. Typical guy answer: yeah...I'll get around to it sometime.

I am actually in a bit of shock over the sudden death of Natasha Richardson. WTF? Died after an accident on a bunny hill??! What type of crap luck is THAT? Here I just get back from cliff-jumping double black diamond runs at almost 10,000 feet where you easily could have lost control and fallen off a cliff and she dies because of a fender bender on a green run. Wow, I am really shocked at the news and I don't even know much about her career as an actress.

Oh I know and my doc has, indeed, suggested that I go in for a sleep study.

Perhaps one of these days, I might just get around to it....

In Utah, was all I could do to sleep hearing the gurgling machine of my father's cpap in the room next door!

I just figure, avoid sleep, avoid the problem, eh? Guido! Keeper of the Night!

I will certainly keep on top of things MG, thanks I don't want to feck around with something like breathing lol!
Holy moley, 86 times in a minute????? A normal minute should have 10-20 breaths! Plus that doctor sounds incredibly negligent, I would have had his guts for garters.

Shame on you GUido... Iam after my dad all the time... He went for a sleep study.. he quit breathing 86 times in 1 minute at one point...  Grrrrrrrrrr....  Then some doctor perscribed him sleeping pills without looking at his full health record.. I could have crapped my pants when I heard that... Yes my dad is soo stubborn,.,,,  Men are usually less attentive when comes to healthy things, and doing them.. but some men I know are health conscience.

You should go for a sleep study Guido, and see what they say...

Becks should too if the problem doesnt get better or  gets worse... Its very important... Very...

Hugs MG~

Sleep apnea? It is a Cpap machine. At least it SHOULD be one if he has apnea. Runs in my family (and probably me).

Not so much an alarm but it forces air to avoid choking. You are right though. I probably should be using one but can't STAND sleeping on my back!  Men, eh?

Nope not allergic to anything (very rarely get hayfever when I'm around polleny flowers lol). Our duvet on the bed is only an el cheapo one, don't think it contains feathers LOL! It's so annoying cos I've never had respiratory probs before.
[spapad] Wednesday, March 18, 2009 7:09:39 PM
Are you allergic in general to animals, dust, mold?  I take it at this time of the year you don't use any pillows/comforters  in bed with feathers in them do you?

Mostly at night Spa, so it's interrupting my sleep something wicked. The doc said he's not surprised cos of certain hormones decreasing at night which (in asthma) leads to airways closing up something like that LOL.
[spapad] Wednesday, March 18, 2009 7:05:47 PM
Is this problem occuring only at night Becks? or a different times?

That's the thing MG, I don't know! I think the doc is thinking it is, but he didn't actually make a diagnosis of asthma when I was there. I suppose I'll just have to wait for my follow up in two weeks and see what he reckons then.
OMG sleep apnea must be very scary! I would be mad too if my father had to use something like an oxygen machine and refused to! Men in general can be terrible for looking after their own health.

Oh BECKS..  is it asthma???  My brother and my dad both have sleep apnea..  Which is scary..  2 days before christmas  my dad had a siezure when he quit breathing... The ambulance came out to their house,  he is supposed to be on a oxeygen machine when he sleeps, and it has a alarm on it in  case you have trouble or quit breathing..
Hes to damm stubborn to use it.....   Makes me mad..
