What days do you get? In NZ Good Friday and Easter Monday are both paid public holidays.

I'd say there's a good chance. Most of the bands do their touring in the states over the summer months.

I'm actually taking a week off for my birthday this year. Got my birthday then four days later AC/DC are in town, then the day after that it's Them Crooked Vultures and then AC/DC again. It's gonna be a great birthday week. Lots of beer.

Actually JJ, I've worked for companies that have what is called "floating holidays".  You got 3 of them that you can use a year for a paid day off on days of your choosing!!  I don't work for one now that offers that, but the contract is up in April, we'll see...lol

Actually that's a great idea. What if people had the right to choose their holidays. For example instead of taking Good Friday off, you might choose to work and take the Indy 500 day off instead. Brilliant.

Hi JJ and Vail!!

Not that I NEED a lazy day, but I do enjoy the unexpected ones : )

I don't have a real tree this year, that was last year as we alternate.  I usually leave the decorations up 'til New Years is over as it's depressing taking them down.  Btw, when's the next meaningful holiday??

ps...I graduated from a public school as well...lol

What a wonderfully lazy day this has been!!  Haven't watched any football, instead have been watching The Librarian series (right now it's the Curse of the Judas Chalice).

Broke in the new waffle iron and hot chocolate maker...deliscious with strawberries and whipped cream!!!  Just finished eating grilled bacon cheeseburgers!!

Great to see Strat making a visit back to us...best of luck in school!!

I went back to IE because Firefox wouldn't allow me to use some apps, and I have absolutely NO problems here at JP.com!!!

I'm very happy to see we've all made it through Christmas...off this coming up week and I really am at a loss on how to fill up some of my time...any suggestions??

Also...NO New Years resoloutions for me this year!!!!!!!!

Don't worry, Spa. It'll all end eventually.

Unfortunately, the US doesn't have the best of education systems, but come on. I went to a public school in one of the poorest areas in Los Angeles county! I didn't have the best education either, but it was up to me to make an effort to spell better, write better essays, etc. Plus, there are alot of users here who don't have English as a first language, and the majority of them spell just as well as most of the native English speakers/writers here. Ultimately, you are in charge of your own education, and eventually your life. A boss looking for a good employee won't accept someone who can't spell 'the' properly.

Look, it's okay if you can't spell properly right now. No harm, no foul. But at least take the time you have here to improve the way you write/communicate. Remember, even if you're done with school, you never really stop learning.

Brandon, while the human brain can interpret what you type because you have the right letters in all the wrong places, May I be so bold as to suggest Mavis Beacon typing so you actually make sense! Nine bucks, and you can be on the road to typing in a way people don't have to strain to read what you type.  Just a suggestion, for I have never seen anyone type so bad, and yes it is so bad it looks contrived. If you don't know what that means, look it up.

No, it isn't the site, it is your computer. Specifically, the little java applet running to the right of the bar. As the name suggests, it is a basic "runtime error." VERY common.

My fix? Stop using IE as you should have done so years ago. Firefox has always been the choice of nerds and is also free. IE is a dinosaur, bloatware and runs slower then hell. Use Firefox. Free, faster, more secure and able to customize 1000x more than IE. Download, install, import your bookmarks and, voilá, problem solved.

Lemme know.

Nope. It's 'cause you most likely have Windows and it (especially IE) doesn't support the applet to the right, where one can play the songs. Switch to Firefox and it won't happen so much again.

Hey everyone!

You're taking the decorations down already? Ours will likely be up until the new years party (It took that long to put them up in the first place!) but then we did end up having christmas day, then 'less stressful and annoying-relatives-less' Christmas on Boxing day. Hope everyone has had a good christmas and a relaxing holiday season.

The decorations are gone and the living room is returning to normal. A wonderful holiday this year. Hope you all shared in that sentiment. Now we focus on New Year's Eve. One last hurdle and then we are through to a fresh beginning!

[Deep Freeze] Saturday, December 26, 2009 10:43:47 AM
Ah yes! A very, very Happy Day-After to one and all! Boxing Day for our northern brethren, I believe? All quiet here, just as we like it. The Princess and I attended Christmas dinner at her brother's house (Prince Russel) and , as we departed, we both proclaimed aloud, "It is FINALLY over!!!!"  HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Came home, lit the fire and had one last round with our tree as we watched "The Rocker" on HBO (not worth your time, by the way).

We have officially closed the book on Christmas 2009. We plan to have a full-on turkey dinner this Thursday for New Year's Eve and that will be that for the holiday season.  It is almost a kind of relief, isn't it? Some very memorable moments. We got the Princess's boy a guitar , as he has expressed great interest in learning to play. As with most young lad's his age, we are concerned that this may only be a phase but we will have a teacher come to the house for the next few weeks and see how he does. I fear he sees only the glory and none of the work, which he will soon know all too well! Should  he decide this is his calling, we may have a brand new "headbanger" among us!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A truly wonderful Christmas it was this year. We enjoyed it very much. I have come to appreciate this particular holiday in a way I never could when I was still working. I means so much more to me now. More meaning, less materialistc I believe. As it should be.  Oh , and one last very important "shout out"...to my dear, dear friend Guido! Your gift is most appreciated and you were all too correct. It is very comforting, from time to time. All that you said it would be. Thank you, my friend.

Good morning / day and a very Merry Christmas to Judas Priest and Murray and all the others we don't know that contribute to bring Priest music to our homes and this site to our desk / lap tops!!!!!

And a very SPECIAL Merry Christmas to ALL the wonderful friends that I have made during my time here at the Board!!  There was a time I could actually name the friends that I have here, but would be too difficult to do now (which is a wonderful thing!!).  Have a SAFE and WONDERFUL day friends, you are all in my thoughts today!!!

I wish all my fellow metalheads a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!! May you all stay safe in your travels and enjoy the day with family and friends.

Thought I'd take a moment, having listened to the new offerings by 'Freeze & his project, and by 'Meltdown & his project:  Gotta tell ya gentlemen, both are distinctly different styles as are the folks composing & playing.  'Meltdown ... you have a way of bringing an Axe to life. Combined with Rick's vox expression, and the rest, it sounds fantastic!  'Freeze, You have a unique quality in interpretation. I enjoy the contrasting combination of styles about your project!  So much creative talent in the membership here ...

Sniff!!!! That was beautiful, my friend (picture the scene in Forest Gump when he gives his speech and no one could hear him in Washington, D.C.).

"NOOObody does it better...makes me feel sad for the rest. Nobody does it quite the way you do...baby, YOU are the best!"

A very Merry Christmas to one and all if I miss anyone tomorrow.

'Twas the night before Christmas and all 'cross the Site. Not a poster was stirring, 'cept the old dude named Mike. The fire was roaring and the tree shining bright. And ol' Freeze was smiling by the laptop's soft light. For the year was ending and another day came. And the site, while so quiet, was free of the lame. All the trolls that had plagued us were finally elsewhere and the losers with problems had crawled in their lairs.

So Freeze grabbed his coffee and sat in his house. And clicked on the "post" with his remote control mouse. And for all that would care to read what he said, he typed out a message that was caught in his head. While we all are not perfect and not sane in the least, we all have each other and we'll always have PRIEST!

A Very Merry Christmas to one and all. Much love to you and thanks for all you do!!!!!!
