I really hope that's the case...and good judgement on their parts...nothing that goes on here is worth all of them leaving...and it's not like I even have to talk to them, just knowing they're around is good enough for me.

It is quite likely that most of those you mentioned are not so much "gone" as they are "taking a break". It seems that most people just go away but do return. Some of them do it over and over. I hope they come back. I really do. Maybe they do not realize how much it hurts those left behind?

That is true...I hadn't quite looked at it like that...well then, let me say that it really sucks to invest so much time in building up friendships just for (whomever) to get upset and throw it away (as meaningless)...maybe that is what I'm more upset about...the feeling of wasting my time on ppl who could really careless...to the point they take their little ball ang go home!!  I'm tired of losing friends this way...(Victim of Metal, Lori, MG~, Bev, Soy, Kit Kat...to name a few...)...

I hear ya on that one..we all have our moments...but ain't worth falling out over...i been here a few years now..since i was classed 'unfit to work'...seen a few come and go - must admit i've had a few 'moments' and probably wound a few people up..but i think i'm better than that now..
[Deep Freeze] Sunday, March 15, 2009 8:25:42 AM
Yes, I agree. I have sent PM's trying to explain who is who but, in the end, it is really up to each of us to act like adults. If someone says something to me that I find distasteful, I say something. I do not go running off to pout. NO ONE holds that kind of control over me and this Board means too much to me to leave. When a valued member up and leaves, they take away a part of each of us. Is that fair?? Is it OK to leave your friends behind because you are "tired" of someone teasing you or saying something with which you disagree?? That is ludicrous. There would be no one left if we all ran away evertime someone got offended.

But now we're missing members, and I'm not saying it's anyone's fault, but the entire thing (including the discussions afterwards) could have easily been avoided.  I, for one, am still in disbelief...and I miss the ladies involved...

Well said, Necro!! You're right. As are you, Ron. Actually, it is not that we need one, it is that we are fortunate to have one among our regular membership! I completely agree that we should simply ignore idiots. Absolutely. But with J.D., we have a LONG time member that will step in for any of us at anytime and, sometimes, that is even better than an ignore.....

..is good to know we're looked after...lol - i find that idiots don't last too long...have a little patience and they soon get fed up and wander away.
[ron h] Sunday, March 15, 2009 8:08:14 AM
Why do we need a resident pit bull when we have an ignore button?  I thought that it was wiser and more powerful than anything that can be said (posted)?  And if things get that messy, we've got the report  abuse button, eh?

Well now, who says you can't hide from your problems??? HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave up and went to bed and this morning I see everyone made nice!! WOOHOO!!!

I hope that my ranting of last night was taken in the spirit in which it was intended. Nothing upsets me more than seeing needless bickering amongst our membership...especially because of a person that does not really even exist in our world any longer!! Man! I will say this, IF I ever decide to leave this place and not return, I hope I have even half the influence this guy appears to have!!! WOW!

Allow me to say, for the record, that I know J.D. personally. He is not a trouble maker. He is a valued member of this Board. He can be a bit "edgy", but that is his style. I like to refer to him as our resident pit bull. If there are trouble makers lurking, he is "sitting on the porch" waiting! WOE be to ANY idiot that comes here looking for a fight!  HA!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, with such a beast at our disposal, there is always the chance he will growl without realizing it is a friendly hand petting him! That is the price we pay for such a dominant guardian!! It is well worth it!

I am so thankful that all has settled down and we are back to our "loving" selves. Do not forget that there really are those that lurk, waiting to come here, create false identities and try to manifest the events we witnessed last night. They are a reality. We must be prepared. We have our "guard dog" and we have one another. Let's not forget that.

Sounds awesome Guido, glad you had fun and welcome back
We got snow regularly in winter when I lived in the South Island for the last 3 years. One night I woke up and thought it was pissing down with rain, in the morning I went to let the cat in and he was all mad at me, I soon saw why, over a foot of snow had fallen LOL the weather men didn't see it coming at all haha. That was great, woohoo day off work!

BWWAAAAHAAAAAA!!!!! Snow couch?? T-Bar?

Oh too funny!! Sorry to say that you coudn't find either in Utah or Colorado nowadays. Ahhh, the good ol' days. Rope lift. Grab that sucker and then slide back smashing back into your sister / brother / friend behind you. Ho ho! What fun!!!

Wait, this is best for the old fart's thread. I grew up on skis. Age 5, I believe, in Michigan.

Awesome! I've only been to the snow once, Was a school trip back in 2004. Lasted 5 days (7 in total but the bus took a 2 days to get us there & back) My friends and i built a snow couch, two seater with cup holders, That was one of the highlights. It would certainly be something i'd do more often if i lived in the right climate and had time / funds. I remember when i got back i noticed the muscle tone i gained in just 5 days. Imagine being a professional skier!

Oh and i'll never forget slipping off the T-bar snow lift.... I was so embaressed. I hit an ice patch with my ski's and fell off, then my mate next to me lost her balance... LOL Was almost run over by the next people on the lift... (Imagine trying to roll out of the way with ski's on!)

It's nice to know your home safe

WONDERFUL, my friend! Had the best snowfall of the year. Apparently, they had a pretty weak ski season before we arrived.

Great time, though. Five straight days on the slopes and I have thighs of steel! LOL!!!
Seriously, with Steamboat, Colorado last year and Utah this one, Pop and I couldn't have been luckier. Great weather and returned home injury-free save for a slight knee problem when I was screwing around and tried to spray the old man when he was taking a breather on a 2.5 mile run laying down on a hill. Just ASKING for it! HAAAAA!!!!!
