Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.
Whenever an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends, so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and all our friends are warm and comfortable. All of the animals who were ill and old are restored to health and vigour, and those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again – just as we remember them in our dreams of the days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing – they miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks up into the distance. His eyes are intent; his tail twitching, waiting.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carry him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet – so long gone from your life but never absent in your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together……………

Loripip, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You know, you may be right in saying that your animals understand you more than your family do. I guess most of us animal lovers understand what you mean by that. It sounds to me like you gave Taco a wonderful life in his latter years. Bless you for having such a big heart to take care of him. I hope that your pain eases up soon, I know this is not easy to come to terms with. ( I lost two cats and one rat this year and I'm still not over it). Oh, Lori!
I am so, so sorry to hear about Taco. May he Rest In Peace with all our other four-legged buddies...
I lost my own 13 yr. old long-haired shepherd a few years ago, and "Cisco" has never been replaced. I really *do* know how you feel, my friend! Do you have a picture for us? How old was he?
Hang in there... & cry your tears.

The culprit...
His Daddy...
What Daddy eats, puppy eats. *SIGH* I can't go into the kitchen without the pony bucking my knees! He's even climbing the counters to look for food. I'm waiting for the day he climbs into the sink to lick dirty dishes! Sparky is a very, very protective dog, especially over me. The whole neighborhood loves him and people know better to be on their best with me when he's around. Hehe I feel sorry for the crackhead that tries to break into our house.
OH! Dog owners... does your dog like to swim? Sparky hates baths and sprinklers but my goodness is he a swimming fool! We went to the gulf a couple of weeks ago and he swam for 4 hours! Did not wanna get out. We also took him camping last weekend at Lake Sommerville and I got worried because he was out passed the bouys and there were alot of boats. I thought he'd get shredded by the motors. I'm gonna video footage next time. It's hilarious!

This is my 15 month old Lab/Border Collie mix, Sparky, that I saved from Doggie Death row. He thinks he's a deer, looks like a pony, eats like a member of the family and barks like a dog. LOL I'm training him to be a duck dog with some success. I need professional help. He doesn't take me seriously at times and I'll show you why in another post. Hehe |

I have a dog Sully named after the lead singer of Godsmack. He's a Coonhound. He's awesome. I also have a cat Freya (norse God of love and beauty) she's an ass but she's cool and a parakeet named Blueberry. I didn't name him. He is very cool. All rescued. The name I use on here, Norrdika, was my dog's name. She passed two years ago this October 29th. She was the shit. My best friend. She was 14. Hey how do ya all put in pictures? |

Now I can't be positive as, of course, I wasn't there to witness the whole event and you even see Calvin's little patas behind that eliptical machine but my money would be on her.
Needless to say, she doesn't sleep in that cute little bed anymore... [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Tuesday, August 12, 2008 1:12:32 AM) |
