The first week after two months I'm not travelling world wide. Great.
If I'll be lucky 'til end of november at home. December will start in Frankfurt, then Stockholm, ....
It seems beautiful from outside but at last is only Airports, Hotel rooms and Industries. Some time I've some time to enjoy the town. In Rotterdam I've found a fantastic CD store, but was closed. Next time for shopping...
Good night, or good morning or good afternoon according to your latitude.
I'm going to sleep.

Then later tonight I'll put Electric Eye into the DVD player and watch Judas Priest destroy the venue with their great music and hot looks. Oh, the benefits of being single.

Oh I do understand, joe. I know what you are trying to say. I just take the approach of saying I personally do not know what is said and done in Hollywood. I can only assume. It is rather easy to "connect the dots", though. I get that.
My concern is that there are a vast majority of very good doctors doing very good work for people that truly need them. I have noticed changes in the way things work at my doctor's office over the years simply because of what goes on in Hollywood and elsewhere. The obvious abuse. It makes doctors skittish and I can understand that. THAT is the real shame.
I fully agree with you that when used properly, perscription meds are wonderful and in some cases, life saving. I was not really refering to the normal use of perscription meds. My understanding is that most of these celebs have dedicated doctors that are willing to provide them with whatever, whenever. In particular to the cases of Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and now Brittany Murphy.
I know that in the cases of Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson, they are investigating the doctors involved,
Freeze, I think our doctors have our best interests when providing medication to us but in Tinsel town, to get to 'live it up' with some of these celebs, there are unscrupulous doctors who only care about what they get out of the deal.
I also use perscription meds (I'm on a chill pill once a day lol) but I know for a fact that my doctor would not perscribe me with anything that would interfere with that just to make me happy.
I am by no means saying that these medications should not be issued. But under the spotlight in Hollywood etc, it is so obvious as to what is happening.
Deep Freeze wrote:
Well Joe, I do understand your frustration and concern. There are times when I share that concern, however, as a regular user of prescriptions, I can say that it is NOT necessarily the fault of the doctor! The people that get these medications are told, in detail, how to use them. They are monitored (or are supposed to be) every month by a doctor and checked out physically.
Prescription medication can be a wonderful thing, IF used properly. I cannot begin to tell you where I would be without mine. But, when people start abusing them, they are on a fast track to danger. Doctors cannot follow every, single patient around 24/7 to make sure they follow directions. They cannot always stop them from getting multiple 'scrpits from other doctors. It happens.
There are people that need medications. They are in pain or have some illness or disorder that is genuinely helped by using medication properly. I have enough meds to kill a bison locked in my safe BUT I take mine AS PRESCRIBED and never abuse them. I see my doctor regularly and I am tested to be sure my internal orgams are not affected by my medications. That is where the real issues lies, I'm afraid.
The temptation to abuse is great. Take one or two "extra" and you are high as a kite and feeling REALLY good. Unfortunately, that temptation is far too great in some and we see the results. It is easy to blame a doctor but that is just so unfair. I do not know where I would be without mine! If he were somehow hampered by some "knee-jerk" reaction to this serious abuse problem among celebrities, I would suffer tremendously, as would millions of sick and injured people that do the right thing with their medications.

There will always be a dodgy doctor or two around, but it's up to the person who the medication is prescribed to to use it properly and with care.

Got up this morning and saw this on the news.. Looks like we lost another one to 'cardiac arrest' aka 'caused by addiction to perscription drugs'.. Anyone else think these so called 'doctors' providing this shit to all these actors/musicians should start to be held accountable for their actions? I mean really, 32! 32 years old and dead. Because some hanger-on doctor couldn't say no to persctibing way too many tablets. What is this world coming to? I'm now officially scared for the future of so many promising people.
RIP Brittany Murphy, whilst not one of my favorite actresses, you were way, way too young to die in this way. God be with your family and rest your soul.
