Hi.

I think we are all entitled to our own opinion. Judas Priest were and still the best Band I've seen
and heard in concert, whether the scenery is important or not. I think Scott Travis is the best
drummer I've heard - I'm no expert, by the way. I've been to a few concerts, one of my
memories is everybody eating a certain packet of something and trying not to behave like
gremlins. It reminded me of the school I used to attend. Certainly Rob Halford has a 'stretched'
vocal scale which fits in with the music so well. It is, I think a unique experience to attend at least
one of their live concerts, which I did. Some people I know only ever attend one concert for their
favourite type/class of music -which I find a constant irritation, by the way, and feel they don't
need to go any more concerts. It is important to support and I will continue to do so.

Every JP"s tour is unique like their each albums.
Year by year tours become increasingly larger, magnificent, luxurios ( on the basis of the show, design or formulation of the scenery on the stage).
JP don't have or give (never) a bad concerts. This is the responsible band.
I think Epitaph Tour is best tour that I've ever seen( other tours were great too).  Defference - the sound, own show, texture of the scene. I like it so much. But It's so incredible, all is ideal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's Reviews from Rochester NY,  Las Vegas and Reading PA.

I went to all three of these gigs and the band was truly amazing. Rob is a machine to be able to belt out those octaves night after night and being up there in age is even more impressive. His voice has changed some over the years but he has learned to deal with it and perfect it. Blood Red Skies amongst others was absolutely amazing. I was in row AA in Reading and just watching and listening I was in amazement to see the breathtaking performance.

Some people just don't understand the contribution that Judas Priest has made to the Metal industry itself. They may be to busy smoking pot and drinking themselves to death. They sit around and make signs about the sad state of affairs that tier life has become. That haven't got any creative potential and they appear to squander many years of there lives taking pictures of everything that has gone wrong in there life.

Well JP, to me the glass is half full and not half empty. You guys killed it every night I seen this awesome show. Reading appeared to be the best out of the bunch. My seating may of had something to do with that. Took the best pics during that gig and maybe the rolling pastures and rolling hills got me in the spirit. Great road trip from NY., beautiful ride. Thanks for the years of Metal and for creating an image and style that has followed Metal through the years!!

KEEP IT METAL!!
How does anyone on this site know how many times Cher changes anyways???

Sounds like there are still some whiners out there! All I know is this- I first heard Judas Priest in 1976-77, for there album cover art really fascinated me being that I was in 4th grade at the time. Same went for BOC, great music, amazing art!  I first saw the mighty JUDAS PRIEST live in Kansas City on 7/15/84 which happened to be my 16th birthday....can you say party time? A band called Kick Axe opened and believe me, we all eagerly waited for the Priest to rage!  I was thoroughly impressed with Love Bites, the Sentinel, etc. LIVE!!!   After seeing every tour except for Painkiller (wasn't into the "new" style of speed metal at the time + Megadeth opened) since 1984, I can say that this was by far THE best performance that the boys in Judas Priest have done since the 1980's. PURE energy, crowd went nuts and Halford was spot on! We saw the St. Charles, MO show (western St. Louis area) on Nov. 10th, and believe me, I'm STILL HIGH off of that set!  I'm sorry you folks are so critical of what you saw in Texas, etc.; but you obviously saw an "off night" similiar to the St. Louis, British Steel show we saw in 2009. I however will never by into your criticism of this tour. The ENTIRE band put in so much energy into their St Charles show that not a ONE person I talked with was dissapointed. SO THANK YOU JUDAS PRIEST FOR PROVING THAT YOU ARE THE BEST METAL/HARD ROCK ACT TO EVER TOUR THE PLANET!!! Love that JUDAS PRIEST!!!   Douglas of Kansas City

I know it's late (is it really) but I was able to get a couple of good shots from the band:

Madrid: http://www.master-of-the-wind-eng.de/JudasPriestEspanaENG.html
Colmar: http://www.master-of-the-wind-eng.de/JudasPriestFranceENG.html

Awesome shows. Next year I'll be going to Stuttgart and Nuremberg.

Thank you, Judas Priest, for another awesome show. I went to see you guys at San Bernardino, CA on October 22 and you rocked! I took my wife and our two adult sons (they had never seen you guys live) and they were Metallionized! They both play music in their own respective bands and Priest has always been an influence in what they play. My favorite song of the show was "Beyond the Realms of Death." I last saw you in Paso Robles, CA in July of 2009. I have never been disappointed with the Priest. I don't understand how anyone calling themselves a fan could be. Anywho, I'm looking forward to your new album and seeing you guys again! Tell KK we missed him and you guys did one hell of a job replacing him. Thank you, Richie, for stepping up. As in the immortal words of MC5, "Kick out the jams, m****rf****r!" Until next time....

Judas Priest Epitaph Tour Concert Review-Dallas TX.

So Judas Priest named their final world tour Epitaph.  They should have named it the "We Don't Give a Fuck Anymore Tour".

That's how they played the other night at the Allen Event Center to about 6,000 people.  First of all the sound sucked.  The drums especially sounded terrible, amazing because of the beautiful, clear drum sounds Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society had.  Judas Priest wasn't loud at all, how could Black Label Society have been louder than the Headlining Judas Priest??  Thin Lizzy sounded so clear and perfect and played their songs to perfection, eventhough their bass player is really irritating to look at, he's always in the front looking out at the crowd to see who is looking at him.  He never once, went over by the drumset to play with the drummer.

Black Label Society did their thing with tremedous sound esp the drums.  Zakk's guitar solo was WAY too long.  I went to the bathroom, got a beer, looked at t-shirts and was still soloing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was my 13th TIME TO SEE JUDAS PRIEST.  I'm their biggest fan, I have all their CD's, DVD's, several t-shirts, they are MY band, a part of me, a part of who I am.  I was very anxious about this show and had looked forward to it for months as I always enter a euphoric state at their shows.  From the looks of the band, this is definitely going to be the last tour.  Rob looked like he didnt want to be there and would walk off the stage after every song, Glenn Tipton looked bored out of his ass and fucked up The Sentinel.

I coudnt believe how sorry the drums sounded, I couldnt believe how bad the band sounded overall.  One of the greatest things about Judas Priest concerts is the way their music sounds live.  Their music alone live is a spectacle in itself. Nobody is heavier than Judas Priest live, Nobody.  Not this show.

The high hat cymbals on the left and right were non-existent, the bass drums could barely be heard and the crash cymbals were also non existent.  There was no treble on the drums at all.

Rob sounded terrible during Blood Red Skies and the song in general sounded like dog-ass, which is a shame, because on vinyl, it's an epic heavy metal composition that goes alongside Victim of Changes and Beyond the Realms of Death.

To my count, the band has had 5 major tours in the last 7 years, WAY TOO MANY and the band looks like they're sick of each other and like they're not getting along at all.  The only guys having any fun were the new guitar player and Scott Travis, too bad you couldnt hear them worth shit.

The band opened with Rapid Fire, which should have slayed, it didnt.  It sounded louder on my MP3 player with headphones, it was sloppy and boring.  The band went right into Metal Gods, Heading out to the Highway then Starbreaker.  They took out the intro on the drums on Starbreaker, probably because they sounded like shit.  Victim of Changes was next and Glenn played that stupid ass guitar solo he's played for 25 years which ruins the momentum of the song.

Other songs the band went thru the motions on: Prophecy, Beyond the Realms of Death, Diamonds and Rust, Turbo Lover, The Sentinel, Nightcrawler, Judas Rising, Hell Bent for Leather some song from Rocka Rolla, Painkiller.  They played at least one song from all their great albums.

Rob didnt sing a single word on Breaking the Law and during Electric Eye, which is about a spy satellite, they had a spasmatic real eye from 1976 that was really distracting and ridiculous.  We got to hear Scott Travis talk, and despite how bored he looked, he had some energy in his voice and they played Living After Midnight.

Rob had more costume changes than Cher.

Judas Priest is my favorite band of all time, I can't believe their touring again, hell they probably can't either and by the looks of it, they all look they're ready for it all to be over.  This is the most disappointing concert I've ever been to.  Shame on you boys, you've been a part of my life since 1978 and me and my friends went to say goodbye to an old friend.  I would have been better off at home watching Sportscenter having been left with all the great memories of tours past when the band gave a fuck, when they had energy and passion.  It's all gone now.

If you want to talk about this I'm a friend of yours on Facebook and I posted on the Dallas thread.  I hope you read my review, I'm your friend and you need to be told how pathetic you were here and you all need a kick in your ass.  Someone has to give it to you straight:  You sucked in Dallas.  My email address is [email protected].
[markallene] Tuesday, October 18, 2011 4:40:54 PM

Great show in Dallas, Texas guys.  You all had me hooked with the "Hell Bent for Leather" album back in the 70's so I am getting old along with you guys.  The magic remains.  Richie did a great job filling in for KK.  (not to say I did not miss KK, because I did), but well done Richie.

Always incredible and thank you for bringing the Priest energy to Dallas on Epitaph.  You guys will always be the best, the Metal Gods you are.  I stood up and applauded for every song and "Breaking the Law" allowing the audiance to sing is was pretty fucking cool.  (nice touch)

I must admit having Thin Lizzy tour was a class act, though I was actually glad when Black Label Society was done.  That was a tough hour.

Anyhow, for my fourth Priest show, this one was a great note to finsh on.  Thanks for all the memories guys!!  I'm looking forward to the next album.

Blessings!!

Mark E, Texas USA

I've seen JP 4 times.  I'm headed for my 5th in socal next month.  Gotta say the Painkillers tour was the best.  Yeah, I know, many will disagree, but whatever.

I'm sure the set list is on the site here somewhere.  I hope to hell the Epitaph tour means they play some of the oldest stuff.  I'd be happy with a few, but I've yet to look around yet.

Edit: looking for the set list I end up here again....

Looking  forward to seeing them in Florida! I think this site not posting onsale dates actually played into our hands. It does'nt make it as easy for scalpers and fans worldwide to converge that day.I got great seats and I think it was cause alot of people did'nt know they went onsale today.Looking forward to seeing BLS and what is left of Thin Lizzy also.Scott Gorham and Brian Downey are icons plus Marco Mendoza I saw live with Ted Nugent and he kicks ass!

Rik

I just missed out on the the ram it down tour so can't comment im afraid ( I saw a few people wearing the ram it down tour shirts in the pub before the gig ). I had to wait until the painkiller tour in 1991.

I am certain that the band made no mention that it was the last tour. I know from their posts on the site that they intend to continue as a band with regards to recording/some performing but they have made it clear that this is the last world tour.

I  liked diamond and rust too- I have seen the acoustic version but i agree that the version at the concert was better.

[Rik_] Sunday, July 17, 2011 3:55:34 PM
Tony
I thought the same  about the "farewell tour". They made no issue of that fact at all , did they? They can continue to play live shows without doing world tours I suppose. They certainly never suggested it was your last chance to see them, and yes it was unusual to not see KK Downing when he's been there for ever.

I liked Blood red skies too, can't remember if I've heard it played live before unless they did it on the Ram it down tour, but that's a long time ago?

Liked the version of diamonds & rust they did too part accoustic then into the heavier Priest version which I prefer

I was at Manchester too. Great show and set list. Exellent to see 'blood red skies'.

I thought the drums were a bit loud over the rest of the band which was a bit distracting but not such that it was annoying.

hard to beleive it is farewell from JP (in a manner of speaking)

I know that KK has gone and his replacement unquestionably has a big pair of shoes to fill but thats not to say KK was greatly missed by me. When i saw JP on the last tour i was mesmerised by KKs perfomanxce on 'sinner'

[Rik_] Sunday, July 17, 2011 11:18:42 AM
Good show in Manchester last night. Halford never opened his mouth during "Breaking the Law" , the audience sang the whole song  !! I know a few people thought KK Downing should be there, but he's gone & that's that, and I thought Richie Faulkner had good stage presence, playing a good part in the show & put on a good performance.

Queensryche seemed to go down OK with any fans they had in the crowd , but never having been one myself, I can't really comment on their performance.
[SIRENSONG] Sunday, July 17, 2011 10:03:38 AM
I know how you feel.It sucks.I normally can't find enough people who are'nt losers that will actually wanna go see a band.If you had 2-3 other people chipping in for gas for starters maybe some road trips 200-300 miles would'nt be so bad;tedious driving aside.About the only guy I've found that goes to loads of shows has very little money and wants a ride but can't hold up his share of gas.He lives on about $500/month as a struggling musician and his poverty sucks. Then he tries to stand out and find people with extra tickets he can get free or real cheap. He never has cash to buy new cds of groups either.A rock group's dream fan!Haha. Oh well..

Glad you enjoyed it.Are you serious though that Halford did'nt sing one word for Breaking the Law? I know he lets the audience sing lyrics more and more in recent years but if it goes this far I guess maybe it is time to retire.I imagine some fans that never got to hear him sing that classic in person would be real disappointed to not hear one word from Rob.It would be Unparalled and UNBELIEVABLE..headscratch??

Excellent concert last night in Belgrade, Serbia ... and today we still buzzing in the my ears ...... There is nothing, Judas proved last night and from 60 years to remain heavy metal gods! I am delighted. Sounds great, performance. Halford is phenomenal! Grandpa for her age her singing and screaming ... I have no words ... highlights ... Halford when he let the audience sing the entire Breaking The Law, the band has just played, Halford conducted without a single word ......
Whitesnake has also been excellent.

Judas Priest Thank You

I think the biggest thing from the lack of info for tourdate onsale dates and all is that the management is ready to retire too or helping the band to decide on it.Look at K.K. for starters. They should be fired at least some of them for mismanagement. You rarely get any news on here about them and its been going on a long time. Its like they can't be bothered and are busy with whatever.Sadly many bands are afraid to fire management cause they usually get their assets froze and the managers try a long protracted lawsuit against them.I'll bet the management have taken on too many acts and all.You need someone who only takes care of  you.Does their manager still mamage The Who and gosh knows who else? God knows he was a powerful dude but he's been around forever. Is it Bill Curbishley, his name? Whats the deal with Mrs. Andrews?

Thanks buds, all I can say, is God knows Priest fans have poured their hearts into the band (and their $'s) for DECADES, not even knowing the heck I can even get the 'right' to buy the cheapest $100 ticket  is just about my last straw - if this was not the farewell tour (note no KK - total Sux), and my youngest daughter almost begging me to take her - I might just pass.  But, I am a lifelong, singleminded fan.  So I wait.  Ageneral3.

Always fantastic. Since the first on 1984 to the last on June 22nd, 2011.
They were the best, they are the best, they will be the best, also once retired.
Then, in the future, if a new metal group could be able to play for about 40 years and giving me the same emotions judas priest gave on the last 30 years i could change my opinion, but 'til now absolutely NO !!

some of those resellers are owned by ticketbastard, in arangments that are not legal in all places.  perhaps that explains the discrepancy.  I read a bit of an article on that a year ago, cant remember most of it now though

Ya know, I am not so sure that it is as drastic a scenario or subversive a plot to draw more money. The early concerts, especially overseas, seemed to go off without a hitch. Just from what I gather from the posts here, people were able to get tix as expected. Many dates here were announced and onsale as expected as well. What is certain is that the hardcore fans were screwed out of the first 12 rows even in the presale. I say "certain" as I and and others were all online and speaking with one another the second the tix went live during the presale. Row 12? Row 13? Row 14 within the first minute? No way.

Like I said, though, that was just for certain dates. Others have scalpers online with triple prices even before the tix are officially onsale? I can only guess that this was poor management. Priest management? Venue management? Ticketbastard management? Label management? Can't say but I can't believe that the band I have followed all my life would make such a screwy decision. Hell, I would think that any band would just want to play music and leave most of the details to the company they hire. I have never once read or heard of an interview where any of the band members have not have anything but positive things to say about their fans and all the support they have received all these years.

That said, someone still has to answer for tix fiascos like not even being announced! Buck stops with JP management after all is said and done, I say.

Sad but true but Priest management don't want to tell you when tickets go onsale cause then you won't bother till that date. They want people to scramble around and only find secondary ticket hawkers because Priest get a big extra fee from those tickets. They want to make as much money as possible and exploit fans. They treat you like tourists to fleece. Then alot of these bands turn around and say your part of their family at their shows.

Yea, ya get sick of going back everyday to ticketbastard to see if the 2nd leg of the USA dates are up but still nothing. It is getting old already.Plus it was worded as being 'more U.S. dates' as if there may be more to the 2nd leg.I keep wondering if another Florida date might pop up.Even loads of bands much smaller tell you when shows go onsale.I'm only one person and to think maybe thousands of fans keep wasting their  time going back to ticket sites over and over  to try and find stuff out shows this site lacks consideration.

While I am glad to have mine, someone dropped the ball bigtime here, IMO. Can't get proper info on the band's site? Ticketbastard / whomever selling out the first rows to scalpers?

Glad to be going but, without a doubt, sumphin' jest ain't rite.

Why does'nt the Judas Priest official site have links to buy tickets to shows or tell when they go onsale. Its the only big group I can think of like this.Management is being lazy and it has to cost them some ticket sales along the way.Maybe this makes sense especially with K.K. saying there is a breakdown in communication with the management?

Yesterday we went to see JP kick off their Epitaph tour in the Netherlands. Amazing show with Rob sounding as in his early days and even songs that I had never heard live before like Starbreaker and Red Skies Burning. When my 16-year old daughter got Glenn's plectrum after the show she was absolutely thrilled. For those who will see the show in the coming months: enjoy yourselves!

I'll take what I can get right now but the departure of KK took the wind out of my sails.

This isn't a Judas Priest tour just like the VH tour wasn't a VH tour. KK Downing should suck it up and finish this leg of the Judas Priest legacy for the fans. He hasn't even touched upon the grievances he has - he owes that to the fans. I was going to go to a show but it's not worth it now. And if they make a final album w/o KK it's not a Judas Priest record. Patch up the problems and get on with things.

There is now big buzz over Judas Priest here in Tucson and everyone is waiting for when the tickets come on sale. Please announce soon so I can get my tickets ASAP!!

i n the last day or two, the on-sale dates for all the US shows have been removed from the website. I hope that's because the on-sale dates are being moved back until ALL US dates are announced. Currently, the closest show is in Rutherford, NJ, which is not a good venue for me. I'd be really pissed off if these tickets went on sale, then a closer, better venue was announced AFTER I already bought these tickets!

I realize this is not the doing of the band members themselves, but all bands (and their management and whoever controls this crap) owe it to their fans to announce ALL dates BEFORE any tickets go on sale. i really could care less about all the legal and business shit...MAKE IT HAPPEN! NO EXCUSES!

Thanks, and see you on tour!

Preist is NOT the same without KK. The final tour without him? Get over your management problems, seriously. Preist was scheduled to play the SleepTrain amphitheatre on Sunday July 31st here in northern California. The USA tour dates are long gone.  I am a long time fan since 1978. I am 40fucking9 years old and can rock more than almost anyone. I NEED to see tihs mighty band before they stop touring!

Glad Columbia has now been added. All these countries that have been deprived of the Metal Gods for so many years makes me happy to see when they pop up on the tour.

Still. No KK. Bittersweet. With so many worldwide fans who adore him, couldn't he have held out for just one last hurrah (from us to HIM for so many years of great metal). *sigh*

NEW ZEALAND!!!

Priest planned to come here last year but it was canceled due to logistical issues.  If this is truely the last tour of JP I hope with all my metal pumping heart that JP decide to come here.  If JP does not come to NZ I will never see one of my most favourite bands of all time.

I implore you!  Please come down for one show in New Zealand.  I'll be there, and so will a great number of my friends.

It's a bit sad that only the second Priest concert I'm about to see myself in Finland will also be their last. It was so great to be at their 2008 Helsinki concert, especially when it was the first concert of that tour!

Unfortunately the Screaming for Vengeance t-shirt I bought from there doesn't fit on me anymore - but hey, what would be a better reason to drop a few pounds than to be able to wear my favorite band's clothing at their very last concert in my home country?
[William_Wallace] Monday, January 03, 2011 11:03:18 AM
whou, some bad news at the end of last year...

Does anybody know, there will be the possibility to get VIP Tickets for the upcoming tour?
[Shadownight] Wednesday, December 29, 2010 7:33:39 PM
I touch no matter where and how much are the tickets to their concerts, just because I'm going to see them where I please go. That if they want more dates in those countries where my stay will be more than a month. England, France, etc....

Ill agree with Steve here. Priest setlist was ridiciously short this year and IMO they lacked the power and punch as in 08. Standouts on the Setlist were easily: Diamonds & Rust (Electric) was on its own plateu, then Old to be Wise, Steeler, Ripper and The Rage. Other than that, ho hum: United, Grinder, BTL, LAM. Too many voids on the setlist this year and they should have played another 4 songs to at least cover a couple other albums: No HBFL, No POE, No Stained Class etc.. Finally, no one I know is feverishly waiting for a NSTRDMS tour either here in the States or Europe. MpleSyrp
[Steve Forrest] Tuesday, December 01, 2009 3:46:13 PM
I didn't see JP this year but I was online looking at the set lists. They played 13 songs, plus a 3 song encore? Wow, I guess the show was about an hour long.

Man, Atlanta was incredible last night, what a great show! Better even than when I last saw them there in '05. I went down from Chattanooga with my 2 sons ages 19 and 21. We were all blown away! Got in the ampitheatre just past 7:30 and thought would miss part of the opening act but fortunately Popevil didn't go on until 8:00. I though they put on a great show and the crowd seemed into them even though it a little sparse when they started. By the time they went off at 8:45 it was packed. Not  a sellout but for sure a really good crowd. Then the Priest came on just after nine. The band sounded great and Rob was fantastic. His high notes all night were incredible and my ears are still ringing from Victim of Changes! Anyone who thinks Rob can't hit the high notes anymore was not a this show! The British Steel album sounded great live, especially Rapid Fire, Grinder and Steeler. The whole show was awesome. Priest played until about 10:50 and we were tired when we got home but a fantasic metal night was had by all!

Last night, August 20th, was my eighth Judas Priest concert  --with my first being November 1982.  While last night's show may not have been as good as, say '82 or '84, it was still an incredible show  --better than 2005.  The highlights for me were hearing tracks from British Steel that I had never heard played live  --'United', 'The Rage' and in particular 'Steeler' were all great.  The highlight of the night was 'Victim Of Changes' --I have no idea how Rob can still hit those high notes  --and make no mistake about it, Rob was on last night  --sounded fantastic.  Judas Priest are the best heavy metal band of all time  --and they proved it agai last night.  Hail the Priest!!

[tedzo] Wednesday, August 12, 2009 9:04:56 PM
the show kicked ass last night.
Whitesnake only played 4 songs before they quit, dave had strained his vocal chords.
Rob had that problem as well during freewill burning.
after that, he quit hitting the high notes for the rest o the show.
I could bitch, but it still rocked!

Regarding the tour with Whitesnake and PopEvil opening up,  the show starts at 7:30  --can someone let me know what time Priest is hitting the stage?

My guess is:

PopEvil 7:30
Whitesnake 8:30
Priest 9:30

Thanks

Of the two shows I saw, Detroit was cracking down on cameras more than Nashville. Toronto even has a high-def bootleg floating around.

Just a matter of time before they surface. Audio was out for these shows almost the next day in most cases.
