I have read that some of it is faked and I would not be surprised. I mean, if you were to actually find yourself in that kind of situation, I assume drinking pee would not be the worst of it.

I am thankful that the Princess does not like those shows. She enjoys "Big Brother" and, at one point, was into "Dancing with the Stars". She has since dropped "Dancing" and , thankfully, Big Brother is over for the year. She does occasionally watch that lame "E" Channel. *ugh* I actually have her watching the James Bond marathon as we speak!!! HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Discovery Channel! I'm also very fond of National Geographic! Unfortunately my wife is not very interested in this kind of television. She likes to watch shows like "America's Next Top Model", "Project Runway" and of course "Oprah". Go figure...

I spend almost 90% of my time on TV watching the Discovery Channel. Dirty Jobs, Survivorman, Mythbusters..I love those shows. Mike Rowe is a friggin genius as far as TV is concerned. He is absolutely hilarious and his sense of timing is incredible.  i watch the History Channel a bit as well as the Food network. great for getting ideas on new dishes.

I find that tv bores me for the most part.  I usually watch movies, sports, COPS, or something educational.

I am a LOST freak.  LOVE that show.
Sidenote:  they did not have any good movies on for Halloween.

Anyone remember a tv show called Tales Of The Gold Monkey? How about Automan?

[Everleigh] Wednesday, October 22, 2008 9:05:21 PM
I hate all the "reality" and "game" shows on.....yeccch......Some of my favorite "older" TV programs were...."China Beach", "Miami Vice" ( that show featured lots of currently big stars-Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis e.g.) and "Murphy Brown"...

The Dukes Of Hazzard, The A Team, CHIPS, The Incredible Hulk, Streethawk, Knightrider, Cheers, Welcome Back Kotter, Tour Of Duty, Wiseguy, Married With Children, Battlestar Gallactica ( original ), Quantum Leap, Batman, MASH, Magnum PI, Threes Company, Happy Days, Starsky and Hutch, The Six Million Dollar Man, Gemini Man, Buck Rogers, Man From Atlantis.

Damn right tv isn't what it used to be, they don't make shows like this anymore, gritty cop shows, forensics, medical dramas and reality tv seem to be what its all about today, utter bullshit, which is why i don't really watch anything apart from sports and movies. Must admit tho, i do like a reality show called Kenny vs Spenny.

I agree but Tina Fey doing Palin / Couric interview on Saturday Night Live was just pretty funny!

DIME - YOU COULD HAVE WRITTEN THIS:

Have you ever been sittin' at home watchin' television
and suddenly something comes on the TV and you say to yourself,
"Hey, how come my life ain't like that?"
Or maybe you're sittin' lookin' in a magazine,
you see some pictures, some advertising, you says,
"Man, I must really suck because my life sure ain't like that."
Did you ever feel that way? Yeah-
Well, you wanna know why your life isn't like what you see on TV
and in movies, in magazines and such, you wanna know why?
'Cause that's all bullshit! That's right-
Don't you go believing movies and TV and rock videos and all that crap, come on, I mean-
All that is is somebody else's fantasy, you know what I'm sayin' to you?
In fact, all it is is really more like a "Grand Illusion."

Welcome to the grand illusion
Come on in and see what's happenin'
Pay the price get your tickets for the show
The stage is set, the band starts playin'
Suddenly your heart is pounding
You're wishing secretly you were a star
But don't be fooled by the radio
The TV or the magazine
They'll show you photographs
Of how your life should be
But they're just someone else's fantasies
So if you think your life is complete confusion
'Cause you never win the game
Just remember that it's a grand illusion
And deep inside we're all the same
We're all the same
So if you think your life is complete confusion
'Cause your neighbor's got it made
Just remember that it's a grand illusion
Deep inside we're all the same
America spells competition
Join us in our blind ambition
Get yourself a brand new motor car
But someday soon we'll start to ponder
What on earth is this spell we're under
We made the grade and still we wonder
Who the hell we are

about all I watch is stuff I watched 10-15 years ago.  news sports, a few movies, the only series is ER.  I do watch a couple of cooking shows, and a reality show called mantracker, but there is nothing worth taping anymore.
[Dime/UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES!!!!] Thursday, September 25, 2008 2:56:09 AM
ya id say TV isnt what it used to be, im sitting here typing this thing on my Wii, hahaha. I dont even have cable anymore, havent for a year or more. I refuse to pay for such garbage that pretty much tells me what to do in life, not directly but by peddling garbage shows that apeal to teeny boppers and the pop culture. Its like that movie Network. " THE TUBE TELLS YOU WHAT TO EAT, WHAT TO DRINK, WHAT TO WEAR, HOW TO THINK!" that was a good movie. Well it just seems like the internet is the way to go nowadays. you get to choose what you want and skip all the garbage. These days im so pissed off at commercials they make me want to puke, its bad enough they surround us while walking through cities now, all over the damn place. I only really liked 4 things on tv anyway, The simpsons, Trailer park boys, south park and the extremly extremly rare and even if worth watching music video.

I never thought I'd have two tv sets and neither one is plugged in, nor do I feel the need to.
Amazing, who would have said so 15 years ago.
The internet has pretty much replaced it. Especially when I can watch a movie or two for free (so to speak, because the internet connection isn't free) without going to a video store or pay extra to the cable service provider.

[scorpion01] Sunday, August 31, 2008 11:08:55 PM
TV is definately not what it used to be. I remember in the eary 70's watching the Honeymooners, the Twilight Zone, the Odd Couple, Star Trek, Perry Mason as well as others. Over the past several years I got theOdd Couple , Twilight Zone and The Honeymoonersa on DVD. My kids love them. They really transend the generations. Old Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton films are also great.

Cartoons are the same. Nothing today can compare to Bugs Bunny, Popeye, Hekyle and Jekyle, and Scoobie Doo.

Do I sound 7 years old and not 47? I guess Twisted Sister said it Best! "I'll never grow up" Too much fun being a 47 ear old kid.

Hi Pam, you mean before political correction took off? Those where the days, just air it out type of humor, and it worked so well, lol. Family t.v. is gone to, Happy Days ect. . What happened to it? I agree with you on the reality t.v. stuff. Have you noticed the news no longer gives us the info that happened that day, but instead trys to force feed us with what they think we need to know? If it bleeds it leeds. And do we really give a shit about Brad and Angelina Jolie? Funny how they (news) know exactly how many people/victims where killed/hurt  when a bomb goes off over seas, yet a hospital or school is built or repaired and they chose not to give credit? Hollywood always seems to steal the headlines?
[Palmer Griffiths] Thursday, August 28, 2008 6:59:35 PM
Hey Folks I don't know if you all watch a lot of TV .As for myself I don't with the exception of the Discovery channel and the history channel. I find most Tv these days not that entertaining. It's gone overkill with "Reality Shows" etc. Well I was born in the Mid 1970's and grew up through the 80's.I miss the good shows like The Jeffersons,All In The Family by the way ARCHIE BUNKER KICKS ASS ! *LOL*,Sanford and Son,Barney Miller etc. Wish there was more good shows like that.
