Hmm, I love silly love songs....what can I say? Kenny Loggins is a guilty pleasure.  I also like The Polka Family.....Hellrider, where are you?
[jimmyjames] Friday, August 06, 2010 6:41:21 PM

Looking forward to it. And thank you very much.

Steely Dan....I have tons of their stuff and it all sits proudly on my CD rack with the metal/rock around it.
[METALMANJP] Tuesday, August 03, 2010 9:46:14 AM
I'll make sure to send you his Greatest Hits cd. LOL. And congrats to you and your family.

I hate to admit this but I love Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, and Steely Dan. Nothing better for a little romantic evening with my lovely wife. How's that for a musical spectrum.
[paorcamp] Monday, August 02, 2010 12:45:05 PM
I think that my guilty pleasure would be some electronic rock and some electronic music...I may listen to a lot of different music but electronic is the only one that has had some acceptance problems
[Ladywhitewolf] Friday, July 30, 2010 4:30:54 PM
I listen to a lot  of  Japanese music.  Mostly from some of my favorite anime series and movies.   I wouldn't call it a guilty pleasure tho.
[*DemonCat*] Friday, July 30, 2010 5:36:11 AM
I listen to a very wide variety of music. I don't feel "guilty" about any of my CDs, albums, cassettes, mp3s, 8tracks, or reels-2-reels I've ever owned, as all were, and probably still are a part of me, and what I listen to, or can tolerate. Openmindedness in music is huge in my book. Heavy Metal fits a mood, or gets me in a mood, as does all other music I'm willing to listen to.

re found nazareth forgot just how many great songs they had!
[metallo] Thursday, July 15, 2010 2:25:02 PM
Very nice topic.
I use to listen any kind of music and I love many singers or group. First of all I love Metal and Judas Pries, but I also like Jazz, Blues, Folk, some italian singers such as Vinicio Capossela,, but if I have to think to a 'Guilty Pleasure', well I love Bee Gees.

In my opinio they produce one of the best metal songs of ever: TRAGEDY. Now try to imagine it played by Priest

If any metal group will read this, try to play it. It's fantastic.
[rockchick4077] Thursday, July 15, 2010 3:05:39 AM

Abba, the Kids from Fame (anyone remember Starmaker??!!) and Lady Gaga.  If i am listening to anything like that on my mp3 player, I always keep the sound turned down so that no-one can tell what i am listening to through my headphones!

[Zomby] Thursday, July 15, 2010 2:31:46 AM
cyndi lauper    she has an exellent singing voice   prob good live
[Priest_Fan78] Wednesday, July 14, 2010 1:31:02 PM
Most of my LP's are heavy metal records. But I do actually have some 80s pop albums, and classic 50s-60s rock and roll.
[Necroticist] Saturday, July 10, 2010 9:54:46 AM
Guilty? I have many non 'Rock' albums...how about Aphrodite's Child? Classic 'late '60's - early '70's band with Demis Roussos & Vangelis. Not that bad actually.  :)
[Budred] Tuesday, June 22, 2010 4:54:18 AM

Is it all that man hating female angst that appeals to your feminine side Bud? Or the fact that the album would make a great sountrack to a tampon commercial?

"Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morissette
I've hated everything she's done since but there is something about that album, I love it.
The weird thing is that it's not the kind of music I listen to yet it's one of my favorite albums.
[Maple Syrup] Saturday, June 19, 2010 10:38:25 PM
Judas Priest live over the years....IMO: 75 - 88. The new release does have some good stuff, but JP was better in 08 than 10... MpleSyrp

Nothing guilty about listening to Plant's solo stuff, but Page and Coverdale's solo album was so bad that it was almost good. How much like Robert Plant can I sound and how much Led Zeppelin can I play. The ploy worked for Page. Within a year, Plant and Page were recording No Quarter - Plant did not want Coverdale touring with Page and playing Zeppelin live
[Ladywhitewolf] Thursday, June 10, 2010 4:00:14 PM
My guilty pleasure is Lady Gaga.  Normally, I hate that type of music but for some reason I like some of her music
[metalmaz] Thursday, June 10, 2010 10:46:13 AM
ABBA, Dusty Springfield, Michael Jackson, The Carpenters, Madonna
[MetalPixie] Wednesday, February 17, 2010 10:56:46 AM
New guilty pleasure in the music bin ...
Adam Lambert's cd.
Love - Love - L-O-V-E the innuendos ...
and the boy can sing.
(JP has GOT to release something new and SOON!!!!!)
[K2M] Wednesday, February 17, 2010 10:08:19 AM

After all the metal in my collection you might be surprised to find Pink Floyd (Atom Heart Mother and Meddle), or Boston(Third Stage). Zepplin IV could also be a surprise.
[ron h] Sunday, February 14, 2010 6:59:38 AM
Funny!!  Have to admit I've done the Chicken Dance!!  Everyone who saw me do it is STILL in therapy!!!!

Robert Plant's solo material is definitely one of my guilty pleasures:

[Maple Syrup] Friday, December 18, 2009 7:54:08 PM

Got ur point but Dylan and Cash were songwriters, MJ was a performer......Lets just end it there

[jimmyjames] Friday, December 18, 2009 7:49:21 PM
I'd say he's definately a music icon, probably sold more records than Dylan and Cash combined. More well known around the world than either of those two. I'd say the two biggest icons in American music history would be Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

That's not exactly a guilty pleasure. Jimi Hendrix is maybe the most influencial rock 'n roll artist of all time. The man caused a revolution.

i think my biggest "guilty plessure" (at least musically) haha is shinedown. the last record got "a bit poppier" but i still really liked it.

[jimmyjames] Friday, December 18, 2009 2:20:14 PM
Got most of the Jimi Hendrix albums. His music is awesome even though some of it is a bit hippyish.
[acolyte55] Monday, December 07, 2009 3:16:44 PM
asia alpha ! it hooks me!!
[iamnostradamus88] Saturday, December 05, 2009 6:21:53 PM
i gotta few I'm not completly proud of. Godsmack is one I love and I know some metalheads frown on them. I enjoy Sugar Ray's first two records anything after that no way and ringo starr's solo albums I love which is very laughable to many but he always was my favorite beatle.
[jimmyjames] Saturday, December 05, 2009 2:11:05 AM
Yeah, he is cool. I like Overnite Sensation and Zoot Allures. Great albums. You have to hear The Torture Never Stops on Zoot Allures. One of the best songs ever.

Ron, a Boy named Sue is very close to me, as my family used to play it to me as a "tribute"? to my tomboyishness when I was a kid. Love the song to this day, and a few more from Mr. Cash.

Actually got quite a bit of Frank Zappa and The Rolling Stones as well.
[ron h] Friday, December 04, 2009 6:15:38 PM
Hmmm....Johnny Cash and Pachelbel!!!
[jimmyjames] Friday, December 04, 2009 6:11:20 PM
Probably Nick Cave and Tom Waits, neither are metal but they both have some awesome songs and cool lyrics. Got a Bob Dylan cd around somewhere as well that's not too bad. Haven't listened to it for ages though.

ummmmm. i am ummmmmmm   really big into polka.
[SDBinNY] Wednesday, November 25, 2009 7:19:17 PM
Devil Went Down To Georgia is an awesome tune, and one of these days I'm gonna master that fiddle part on guitar.  Devil Went Back To Georgia by Jonny Cash is another great tune as well, but as of late I have really really been hooked on "Boondocks" by Little Big Town. It really strikes me as something that could have very well fit on Fleetwood Mac's Rumors album, one of the greatest front to back albums of all time....
[hellrider 31038] Wednesday, November 25, 2009 6:12:33 PM
do we have to say or can we keep it personal.kind of embarrasing you know.lol

I would have to say an old Dolly album with the song Working 9 to 5. Now I know what you think but when you grow up in a house of parents who listen the country you end up enjoying one or two tunes.

But I do have to agree with Metal Pixie on the disco - sometimes a girl does have to move.
[spapad] Monday, November 23, 2009 8:30:51 PM
That would be about as scary as watching the electric slide at wedding receptions.

Can't say as I ever noticed that MP but, then again, I don't dance, I headbang, and after my last concert I think I may have to change my style as I felt like I had shaken baby syndrome, the next morning. Bad headache. Getting too old to go at it full tilt. 45 year old brain can't take a full night of it. LMAO
[Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by MetalPixie from Monday, November 23, 2009 8:12:23 PM)
[MetalPixie] Monday, November 23, 2009 8:12:23 PM
Would have to be the disco ... "Saturday Night Fever", Donna Summer, ABBA, etc.
Sorry - sometimes, when a girl wants to move a girl's just gotta move!!!

BTW - did you ever notice that, as long as a song is in 4/4 time, you can actually do the Boot Scootin' Boogie line dance to anything?
Including our beloved Heavy Metal?  Sad but true.
[ProwlerCub] Monday, November 23, 2009 8:01:56 PM

Mine would be ABBA gold.  Say what you will about them, the songs stand the test of time.
