I love prog-rock as well, but I really can't stand Phil Collins. Long Live to Peter Gabriel. I can suggest you some italian prog-rock band and their albums. You can search on internet:
PFM (Premiata Forneria MArconi) - Live in USA
Balletto di Bronzo: YS

Try them.

Live Over Europe
I don't give a shit what anybody says, this is a great live album! They have always sounded way better live anyway. I'm a big fan of prog-rock as well as metal, so I thought I'd share this one.

Live metal meltdown 98! With Ripper, its totally insane , the crowd is awsome, his versions of Diamonds and rust, and Rapid Fire, are life changing.... pure metal at its hardest fastest, and simplest... Incredable , when i play those two songs to people, they dont belive its real, not live, no way they say, and then comes the holy shit dude, that is amazing, and i say, fuck yeah!

Its a great live album for me cos after listening to it, my first and only thought is , i wish i was there to hear that ! Thats what makes it my fav live album ...

I only wish they had done Subterfuge live, and put it on live in london, that song is incedable and almost makes my windows in my flat pop out , when played at 11 of course, lol! What a massive song !

Tyrant ..

Never turn your back on the Ripper! T.O.

Did somebody say beer ? MMMMMMMMM
[guidogodoy] Monday, October 25, 2010 5:10:08 PM
It is technically called a "widget" here too. Nobody I know has ever called it by its proper name, however. Then again, not too many people drink it enough to know the difference between the Extra Stout and the paintball!

We get the Russian stout on the yearly Belgium trip - there's some other ale made by trappist monks i forget the name of..i hear ya on tinned (canned) beer...never tastes right. Paintball?? lol - here is called a 'widget'. Ur term is funnier tho...hehe.

Only one I drink. It is called Guinness Extra Stout here. Same thing you get there. The regular comes in both bottle and (heaven forbid) a can and have the "paintball" in it. Ask Bev and Ron. Only one I'll drink is the Extra Stout.

Give me an Old Rasputin Imperial Stout any day. Have to drive about 50 minutes to buy it but it is worth it. Duvel is sold locally. Another winner. So much so that I have a whole collection of those free glasses.

Try the Guinness Foreign Extra - is only bottled..damn strong. By the south i mean Louisianna way...Maybe next time i'll head ur way...sounds like we could have a good session...hehe. I dunno if the place i drink in has a site...will look, but there's several places here that are just remnants from a bygone age..love em to bits.  Now i'm craving a pint of mulled ale...help blow this cold/flu away...

I agree about the Beamish. We get that here, too. Guinness is too hyped up. The bar you describe is my type of place. Exactly like that corner bar I described. While I have yet to visit the UK, I have been all over Spain, Portugal and France.

Keep in mind that I AM in the south. From the north, tho. Better beers up there, IMO. Still, I can hook you up with many a good ale from around here. Just have to know where to look, like I said.

O god no - drinks are on me...i do intend another USA visit...but prolly not ur area...i wanna see friends in the south...and Pabst is great! lol. Bud i'd use to wash the bike...is pisswater....u might like some of ma home brews, are pretty exceptional....i have some on for xmas. Guinness ain't the only stout u know...Beamish knocks spots off it imo. We still have bars here u prolly only seen in movies...no electric, oak beams, beer from wooden barrells, folk band in the corner...THATS where u find fine ales...

Oh, you MUST be joking! PBR?! BLEAH!!! You'd fit right in around here, though. lol. Oddly enough, in Brazil they all go crazy for Budweiser! Generic and another bleah. Most in the street seem to think it "exotic" though.

At my local pub in Detroit, they have 101 beers from around the world with about 20 on tap. GREAT place and, oddly enough, it is the local brews that earn the awards. Come here and the pints are on me!

managed to catch uriah heep about 6-7 years ago touring with blue oyster cult , wishbone ash and nazareth fantastic !! loved it when they played the wizard
[guidogodoy] Monday, October 25, 2010 2:40:17 PM
You do, really. Am a monster fan myself. You just have to know where to look. While no 500+ year-old pedigree European brews, there are some simply outstanding microbrews across the USA that, IMO, can certainly hold their own against any I have tasted around the globe.

I am partial to a good warm stout or porter, truth be told. Guinness only on draft or in a pinch. Better than a pilsner but my fav is still from Australia. Sheaf Stout.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Necroticist from Monday, October 25, 2010 1:44:56 PM)

[Necroticist] Monday, October 25, 2010 6:10:17 AM
They are still one of the top live bands in Europe..apparently...i ain't seen 'em since John Sloman was the 'singer'..was so bad...and i ended up drunk, missed ma train and slept on West Runton beach lol. Cambridge...not been there for a while...last time was roadie for Steve Miller Band...the staff at the Corn Exchange pissed me off - ended up walking out...went to a bar...think it was called 'The Bunch Of Grapes'...just off the marketplace. U might know it...served an awesome pint of Abbot Ale.

hi pedro ive seen them late seventies  what a persona the audience  loves i mean loves phil he was the man
[pedro68] Sunday, October 17, 2010 1:30:24 AM
Fair enough.
Just purchased Thin lizzy live in Sydney ,great show but typical early seventies mono sound - damn.
Gary Moore playing like a demon as always.
Any Thin lizzy fans out there ?
[Steve Forrest] Wednesday, October 13, 2010 8:06:12 AM
I love chicks! But when I want to see them, I'll watch some lesbian porn. When I watch concert dvds of my favorite bands, I just want to watch the band.
[pedro68] Tuesday, October 12, 2010 2:20:57 AM
Yeah Steve way too much audience shots, but mind you dont mind checking out the chicks in the front row !
[Steve Forrest] Saturday, October 02, 2010 6:00:41 AM
Another complaint that I have with many live dvds (ESPECIALLY Iron Maiden!) is they show way too much of the audience. I want to see the band. I don't give a shit about the audience. A lot of metal dvds are like this. Flight 666 had WAY too many shots of the audience. A shot of the audience once in a while doesn't bother me. But sometimes when I watch Flight 666, I think there's more footage of the audience than the band. Pisses me off!
[pedro68] Saturday, October 02, 2010 4:59:16 AM
Thats a damn fine example .
My other favourite F...Up is when they include footage from another nights show - you buy the dvd thinking it was one complete gig ya know and hello its a mix of three
concerts.
I guess the whole bootleg  Argument would make a interesting topic - the pros and cons etc
cheers

Oh HERE HERE! REALLY sux when bootleggers zoom into the wrong guitarist during a solo but that has happened on official releases! WTF?!

I have a number of videos (mostly bootlegs) that will actually get the guitarists wrong. Glenn when it is KK, KK when it is Glenn. The "Where is Rob" tour (2005...Haaaa!) sent many a bootlegger scrambling. On some you can see the frustration in the camera that searches madly for him and on others you can even hear a "spotter" telling the videographer: "there he is...riser, stage left!" Gotta love that "person mover" he was using. Better than Where's Waldo.

[pedro68] Friday, October 01, 2010 3:47:10 AM
The thing that gives me the shits is when they zoom into the wrong guitarist doing the solo - this happens alot in live metal dvds dont you think ?
Or here comes that great guitar solo i like and then all ya see is a close up on the drummer.
I wonder what improvements will be made in future live footage ??

cheers
[pedro68] Friday, October 01, 2010 3:33:22 AM
Maybe Maiden think this type of editing is the way to fly  - someone should tell them it is not working
[Steve Forrest] Tuesday, September 28, 2010 6:15:16 AM
I think the performance from Rock In Rio was great. I just find it hard to watch any live dvd with that extreme fast-paced video editing. It ruins the whole show. Unfortunately, the Death On The Road dvd had the same problem. That dvd would have been perfect, but it was ruined by that annoying video editing. They need to stop letting Steve Harris edit the dvds!
[pedro68] Tuesday, September 28, 2010 4:22:40 AM
Well you cant overlook Maidens Live after Dead album .
It had all their crowd pleasers and still a good listen now.
I caught that tour [ Power Slave } when they came to Australia , it was great, they even brought the full egyptain stage props.
Seeing Eddy wrapped in his mummy badages standing 12 foot above the guitarist is something i will always remember.
I read an interview with Dickinson recently  and he said they wont be playing any of their back caterlog what a crime hey ?

Cheers

Yes, you're right. The history is created already :) But anyway this album is awesome! All songs were played and sound better than the album records.
[pedro68] Monday, September 27, 2010 2:18:31 AM
I didnt mind the dvd - i think that sort of documentary thing works when a band thinks they are creating history for one reason or another - cheers

Iron Maiden - Rock In Rio - the CD was awesome. The dvd was horrible and unwatchable! I HATE that kind of video editing!
[pedro68] Sunday, September 26, 2010 4:08:49 AM

And deep purple made in japan, just a classic, one of their finest moments thats for sure.

Metallicas Binge And Purge is an awesome live album. Probably that and Motorheads No Sleep Til Hammersmith are the live albums I listen to the most.
[Budred] Saturday, September 11, 2010 6:59:09 AM
Since "Unleashed" was already stated I'll go in a different direction. I hate the man now but for me
one of the best "live" albums has to be "Double Live Gonzo" by Ted Nugent. It's not metal but what
a classic album none the less. I saw Nugent on the tour he recorded for that album. I can still remember
him saying things he said on that album only instead of saying Nashville he was saying Wheeling.(W.Va.)
[pedro68] Saturday, September 11, 2010 6:40:11 AM
Oh well i'll start with :

live Evil - Black sabbath
made in Japan _ Deep Purple
Unleashed in the east - The mighty Priest
Intermission - dio
Live after Death - iron Maiden
