I'm a local independent photgrapher trying to get in contact with the band's management to see about photographing the show -- anybody know how I can go about accomplishing this?

Thanks,
- Justin

Almost all of them say no cameras. Wedging a compact camera down the small of your back, is a good place for it.
Just don't forget if you go to the bathroom.

FYI, Chicago says NO CAMERAS..... yeah, I'm going to sneak one down my boot and we'll see what happens

And you know what Budred, I can't remember what show this was at, but someone brought in a professional camera. I thought, no way in hell they are letting them in! Sure enough, they got in! I thought, OK must have a press pass.... noooooope! I swear it depends on the venue and possilbly the artist as well around here and maybe security whether they want to bother or not.

I guess I should have said "generally speaking" they allow cameras.
In the last three years the only time I was told not to bring a camera in was for
Mushroomhead's Halloween Show. They had signs up and security repeatedly
telling people outside that if they had cameras to take them back to your vehicle.
Supposedly they were filming it and didn't want cameras but inside everyone
had them. Other than that I haven't had a problem. Ozzfest, Mayhem, and Rock
on the Range all stated No professional cameras. My wife has had to open her purse
and has never been told we couldn't have the camera. All areas are different
and I was only talking about mine. (Pitts./Cleve.)

I almost mentioned the exact same venue.

In Texas, we called and called only to get mixed answers. Online said no pro cameras, on the phone they said NO cameras but we got point and shoots with no problem.

'Bout as easy to decipher as Ticketbastard.

And some venues say that they don't allow them, so you don't bring it in only to find out that everyone snuck them in and the security doesn't care..... happened at Pine Knob for the British Steel tour. The year before when we saw Metal Masters there, we snuck a camera in and they warned us they would take it away if we kept it up. So I suggest, sneak a small camera in and try your luck!!! They will warn you first and if you keep it up, then they'll take it away. It also depends on how close you are to security, if they even see you

Not really, Bud. Many venues here in the US stupidly restrict ALL cameras. Even point-and-shoots. Camerasphones? No problem. Makes no sense but it is true. Most cameraphones have lower resolutions than modern point and shoots but it still doesn't explain the idiocy. Especially when you can now get HD video from some devices that won't even set off a metal detector.

Depends entirely on the venue.

I can't speak for the rest of the world but around here they allow cameras because of all the camera phones.
What they don't allow is professional equipment  (big lenses).

I'm new to this forum, and I'm wondering if cameras will be allowed into the shows on this tour. If they will allow cameras, are there any restrictions? Specifically I'd like to know about the show in Prague on June 28th.
