They should have some more solos, so then Rob could have a break and Glenn, etc. I'd be awesome really to have some solos, but solos that aren't too long though. |

Well i am a drummer and with Scott being my drumming idol i have to say i wouldn't object in the slightest, in fact i'd love it. And it does have good side effects for the band that the other guys have mentioned. I remember when i first heard a solo by Scott, you can download it on the Racer X website and i highly reccomend you do. I was completely and utterly blown away, it's one of the best heavy metal drum solo's i have ever heard. What really struck me was his speed, accuracy and technicality with his bass pedals, my God Scott can roll like the best of them. Trust me it's a solo you wouldn't want to miss. In fact http://www.racerxband.com/music.htm there you go, it's under Live Extreme volume 1 get a listen to that and tell me you aren't impressed! |

If anything I completely disagree. Solos from band members and just general fucking around is entertaining. Have you ever see anything on the Live Shit: Binge & Purge boxset from Metallica? That black album show in it is one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Lars does like 3 drum solos haha.
And besides, it doesn't make a lot of sense to want to have more songs in the set is they can't take a break. Rush plays on average 3 hours a show, but part way through they take a 15 minute break and play really bad comedy and shit over the big screens to keep people entertained. If anything a drum solo would be good for Priest because it gives Rob a break, thus keeping his voice in better shape and being able to do more songs AND a longer concert. Just not a fan of them in general though, like when i saw Heavn & Hell, and Vinnie Appice did a drum solo i just thought this is pointless.
Unless ur somelike Neil Pert,John Bonham,Ian Paice, or Cozy Powell i dont see the point. |

I would LOVE to hear Scott do a drum solo again!!! I still remember the solo he did during the Painkiller tour. My teeth were rattling in my head, it was KILLER!! If they did Delivering the Goods (which I HOPE they do!), he could extend that drum line and blast into a great solo. Scott is such an incredible drummer. I really hope he does a drum solo this tour! PLEASE??? |

Personaly I dont like a ton of solos, they screw up the flow of the concert. but a short solo by each member would be fine, and if spaced out well might give robs voice a rest. Rob already and for a long time has been doing his vocal solo before You've Got Another Thing Comin'. Scott does a little teaser for Painkiller before launching into it but that's about it. It would be ass kicking to see him once again doing a huge drum solo, with his up to date drum skills which he's been gaining ever since. The shows kinda seem that they just nail song by song with little room between the songs and could use an awesome drum solo. I think a drum solo before Painkiller including the teaser intro would be a great choice. Edited at: Wednesday, June 03, 2009 3:37:20 AM |
