I saw Alice Cooper only once but it was one of the best visual shows I'd ever seen---I didn't know where to look at--he was all over the stage & the special effects were just mind blowing !!

Gee, Alice Cooper let himself go!
He was always dependent on that crazy sex appeal and good looks of his.....

Still one of the best stage shows Ive seen live.  My only complaint is that he has let himself go in his elder years and because of this They didnt allow any photos to be taken of him when I saw him play with Heaven and Hell.  Maybe in his next tour??

Hareem, thanks for the post.  That is a wickedly evil concept and it'll be cool to hear what the finished product sounds like.

Not everyone's going to "get"  the character that is Alice Cooper. His entire story is a concept album, and each can be played one after another to tell a story. Sometimes he's in Hell. Sometimes Hell is her. Vincent Furnier's alter ego has a mind of her own, and when she records a new album/cd to tell a story...it's the farthest thing from being commercial as one can get. This isn't a songwriter/musician who "follows" anyones expectations of what he/she should play, or do on the next CD to follow the last. Furnier/Cooper is going to do whatever he/she wants, and you better like it OR ELSE!!!!!!....simple.

Trouble Shooter - Nothing against you, but you obviously don't know anything about the man.

For everyone else:  Cooper gave details on his radio show (Nights With Alice Cooper) of the album's storyline and that the theme of the album revolves around a “cool, calm and collected” [1]serial killer named Spider, and the eight victims he needs to kill in order to live; police are baffled by the bodies of Spider’s victims, who are cocooned in a silk web, and are each missing a leg. Spider’s task is to collect eight legs in order to complete the construction of his own spider, however, things get complicated when he falls in love with his eighth victim.

The album had originally been earmarked for release in 2007, but problems with producer scheduling and a busy touring schedule caused it to be delayed a year. A number of songs and demos for the album were prepared and short listed during 2007, and further recording and writing work took place on the album in February 2008. In an interview with Billboard Alice stated that the album was 75% done as of April 18th 2008, and tentatively gave August as a release date.[2]

I gotta get that one when it comes out, and I ain't about to miss him either.

Alice  Cooper kicked ass until dragon town came out and shocked me! really I didn't see it coming, but still i would love to see him live and those classic albums he has are unbelievable, I love his attitude and every single show he did and still doing is a piece of heaven, disregarding the fact that his new albums are too commercial..

Wouldn"t give him the time of day!!!!

Wikipedia forgot about "The Last Temptation" - a concept album that came with a comic book. You had to go and get the other 2 for a total of 3. Hell of a story and some great comics!
Other recent albums - Dragontown, Brutal Planet, Dirty Diamonds - all of which ROCK!!
The Coop is the real deal, "Along Came A Spider" ought to follow like the others.

Alice Cooper has certainly proven himself to be among the absolute greats.    While he may certainly be known more for his outlandish, prop-heavy live performances...there can be no mistaking his influence on virtually EVERYONE who would utilize their stage in more theatrical forays.     Bands like KISS,  Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie,  Slipknot,  King Diamond,  et; al...all owe a nod of respect and credit to Alice Cooper (born Vincent Furnier).

I've had the pleasure of witnessing Cooper live on the  "Operation: Rock And Roll" tour  when he co-headlined with Judas Priest back in '91.    I'd already seen (and taped) live footage that was featured on MTV one Halloween night; the footage was from a live show in Cooper's home city of Detroit, MI  in support of the album  "Constrictor."     The show he gave in '91 did better than merely mirror some of what I'd already seen;  he'd clearly had a few other tricks up his sleeve, and the band accompanying him were even more proficient.

Coop's the real deal...

I'm not a huge fan of the Coop, but his music has grown on me over the years.  With that being said, I'm anxiously waiting for his new CD to come out.

Alice Cooper did a series of concept albums throughout the seventies. Wikipedia only mentions two: Killer (1971) and From the Inside (1979)

Funny to think that two of rock's most bizarre characters (and I use the term bizarre with utmost admiration)......Alice Cooper and Gene Simmons......are two of the most articulate, intelligent and successful musicians in the industry.   Consider also that Gene Simmons came to this country from Israel at age 8 not knowing a single word of English.....look at him now.  He's the American dream personified.

If you listen to Rob's vox on the song "Death" it's almost like Alice is singing the song.  The lyrics are very Alice......this could have been straight out of his catalog.

A lot of people also don't know that Alice helped Kip Winger (yes, Kip Winger) launch his solo career.  Winger was Alice's bass player for a while.

I saw Alice on the Midnight Special when I was a kid. Welcome to my nightmare, it was excellent and I don't think I was ever quite the same.

First saw Alice live in 1982 on the Special Forces Tour - I've been  a fan since.
