I saw Floyd in 1987 at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Dropped a couple pieces of paper. Wow what an intense visual experience.
One of my favorites to this day.

I love Pink Floyd--My favorite song of all from them was "Comfortably Numb"--I don't know why but I still get chills hearing it even now
[Dime/UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES!!!!] Friday, July 03, 2009 1:40:38 AM
The Wall is in my top 5 greatest albums of all time, it rules a masterpeice from start to finish. Johhny rotten can suck a wang, Pink Floyd were kings, to bad they can never be again.

Echoes is an awesome song from their earlier works. I still like to sit and listen to Umma Gumma. They really explore musically on that album. Waters song "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathering Together in a Cave a Grooving with a Pict" is a prime example of how they touch on the bizarre. Try listen to that one with a buzz (lol)!

I have to say - the full, unedited version of 'Pigs On The Wing' (was split in two with no solo on the album) is a classic if u can find it...i have it...and it makes more sense complete...they should have left it intact...

I wouldn't call myself a fan. I like a few songs but to sit and listen to a whole cd is just to much for me.

So, I had this chance to see Lazer Floyd several years ago. Totally pumped! Then, Insane Clown Posse went to The Rock and broke the damn floor! I've never wanted to kill some clowns so bad in my life!! The show got cancelled, and that was that. I'll never forgive....

I abdolutely love Pink Floyd! I've been a fan for almost 2 years now.....Comfortably Numb is one of the best songs I've ever heard. I, like everyone else, was hoping they would have gotten back together, but it wasn't gonna happen...And then Richard passed away last year, I  was saddened by the news.
[icecreamman] Monday, January 26, 2009 7:15:10 PM

I AM A BIG FAN OF PINK FLOYD. IF ONLY THEY WOULD TOUR, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. I SAW ROGER WATERS LIVE WHEN HE CAME TO AUSTRALIA IN JANUARY 2007 AND IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I HAVE SEEN.
[jbarragan] Sunday, August 24, 2008 9:04:34 PM
Of course. Who says that a Metalhead can't enjoy another kinds of music ????
[DemonCat] Wednesday, August 20, 2008 1:01:19 AM
I'm sure we can find many things that we agree on. What's most important is that when we disagreed it was in a respectful manner, and remained a friendly conversation.

To this day...I STILL rank  "Animals"  as being chief among Floyd's work.     There are some songs of theirs I've grown weary of hearing  (thanks a LOT, modern-rock radio...THAAAAAAANNKS!!!!!)...but...when I hear a more obscure track...I never turn it away.
[WhiskeyWoman] Monday, August 18, 2008 1:07:21 PM

Well, my friend...

At least we can find something to agree on.

Pink Floyd members claim to have never been on any kind of hallucinogens while creating their music. They were the first to create music to coincide with light affects was all. The crowds that were attending their shows were the ones hallucinating on mind damaging drugs. As for the internet...yes...it was created by a now well known hippy. Yet think about this for a moment. The hippies were very social people. Yet the internet can be seen as anti-social, and we certainly aren't out enjoying nature whenever we are on a home pc. Ohh btw alcohol in large amounts can cause hallucinations, so I can, and do compare it to all other drugs. None of it is healthy.

As for enjoying music from the Beatles, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Jimmy Hendrix, ect. ect. ect. I do enjoy their music very much dispite the fact that they were experiencing the affects of such drugs as LSD, magical mushrooms, and marijuana. That doesn't mean their music is "best experienced" under the influence of such drugs. In fact I find it to be quite the opposite.

My memory of all 3 PF concerts was not at affected in any way, but thanks for the concern.

So, I'm curious about what you have to say about those certain bands who *made* their music while tripping through another dimension?  Surely it can be appreciated on the same level it was created???

However, as we probably both agree, alcohol can really mess things up.  Of the 45+ concerts I have attended, I have never have gone to a concert I couldn't remember, and always stayed away from the 'firewater' -- lol.  If anyone ever came too drunk, it ruined the whole thing for the rest of us.

But there's a huge difference between the two, so you cannot fairly compare booze to hallucinogenics -- without which, we wouldn't have that little mouse in your hand, or have discovered the DNA helix, or....  have a good selection of the Pink Floyd music we listen to.

Cheers.

"shrooms didn't hurt, lol. Only way to go, btw."

I'd have to disagree 150% on that. I saw Pink Floyd twice. I don't remember much of the first one, because I was really drunk at the time. The second was the best concert I'd ever seen! I recall almost every detail, because I was straight. There's NO drug like the adrenaline rush a great concert with great music, from such a great band can provide!!!

We were married 4 yrs. at the time.  My daughter was just getting ready for her first day of school.
It should have been a much better time, especially for Sis.
Anyway, she wound up marrying the guy, so it's like a little more than a ghost, but I really am past it, just don't care to think about all that anymore than I have to.
Does that make sense?
