Have you booked the Meet and Greet package and what were your experience

[Manners] Wednesday, September 10, 2008 2:11:02 AM
Feeling a bit ripped off at the moment as I purchased VIP ticket for MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA concert which included meet and greet . Excitement turned into rage as package was cancelled and then finding out that TICKETEK has competition where if you purchase ticket from them you enter a draw to win a meet and greet the band.
Some last minute half hearted fan no date will win and me I'll miss out cause i cant enter
Rob you should be looking after the real international fans like myself who will not get to see you metal gods ever again NOT the corporate money hungry, Know absolutely nothing and no doubt dont give a flying F**** about you or metal. I forked out a weeks wage for a chance yet all I got was a signed photo (thanks Heaps) of the band which puts me in a catch 22 frame of mind.

Hmmm..this daguerreotype thing gives me an idea...

Hey, they are looking pretty good for the 1840s!

Daguerreotypes are cool.

[.] Monday, September 01, 2008 8:04:10 PM
That would have been super cool

Very old school. That would show how long you've been a fan of Judas Priest.

I think a daguerreotype would have been better! Half plate? Quarter even? Beuller? Beuller?

It would have been funner to have used on of these old school style:

GUIDO  THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD IDEA --I DON'T HAVE MUCH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT PIXELS AND RESOLUTIONS BUT I FEEL THAT AFTER PAYING THAT MUCH MONEY WE SHOULD'VE BEEN SENT A LOT BETTER PIC THAN WHAT WE WERE.

Ok, good enough place to post this one.

VIP pictures...why they took pictures with such a nice camera and only posted the really low resolution versions is maddening. My own point and shoot camera would have been hundreds of times better than the 85k or so jpg they posted. I printed a 4 x 6 and 8 x 10. The larger one, of course, is pixilated as all get-out and even the 4 x 6 shows some defects when printed (yeah, I am a perfectionist). 4x6 isn't even the native resolution, though. However with no photo printer, I am stuck with Wal-lyworld.

Instead of playing with the many software options to come up with a better 8x10, I plan to scan that 4x6 at max resolution and make an 8x10 of THAT scan. Anyone else have thoughts on the subject?
[WhiskeyWoman] Thursday, August 28, 2008 9:29:41 AM

Thanks "Where Am I"?  (love your 'bio-notes', btw ... if only we could all do that, eh?)

Looks like there are "NO" VIP Meet & Greets left ...  Hmmm, what to do?

Hubbie says to ask anyone on the site if they are willing to sell theirs for $$ big bucks $$.  I laughed my head off, just b/c I know no-one would give them up -- well, I wouldn't anyway!  (He really wants to go see those damn bunnies, I think...)
So ... still waiting to book the flight & hotel, etc.   (There's still some tix if we decide to go.)

Here's the deal, are there a bunch of people going to the Vegas show who want to meet before and after for a rockin' JP party somewhere, anywhere, and all over the place?
I believe the fans are a huge part of Priest, having the best fans in the world -- and we would love to party with a bunch of you.  That would make it all worth it.  Let me know "what's up" ...

[paperflowers] Thursday, August 28, 2008 7:59:28 AM

LOL @ tuba! I have a brand new faded cherry Gibson Flying V!!!  Yeah, they can't sign my butt....not unless they know how to write REALLY small.

If anyone else is doing the VIP party in Vegas, buzz me. I'm going stag and don't really know anyone.

Sure:
C.J. Graham is a casino manager at The Palms in Las Vegas, according to his website.
If you want to hunt for his autograph.

C.J. Graham was Jason Voorhees in Jason VI. Horror movie buffs going to see Judas Priest, here's your chance.
He's actually rather good looking so chances are he is gay.

Got flights & hotel all good to go, *if/when* we get some VIP Meet & Greets -- any suggestions?

(Lori, will send a PM with any details.  Wonder who else would be there to hook-up with???)

Don't know about your butt, but they sure wouldn't let me in with my tuba!

While on the subject of the Meet and Greet, let me take the time here to give a public THANKS to my buddy, Guitardude. You (all y'all .... heh) were SO kind. I really hope to be able to repay that kindness someday. After all, not every day when one can have an experience like that and even rarer to be able to share it with a friend. Thank you, my bro. I was glad to have been able to share that experience with you. Now let's pick another city and do it again!!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by paperflowers from Wednesday, August 27, 2008 2:08:37 PM)

It's official - no pickguard!!!   300 bucks for the experience of a lifetime and they can't sign my fucking guitar!!

How about my BUTT?? Bet that's not on the banned list!!
[willtheking] Tuesday, August 26, 2008 5:11:39 PM
Whiskey, They wouldn't let my buddy go back to the car...I was lucky enough to go to an instore signing and get my Screamin' LP signed,  so I figured when I go to the show, I would bring something small enough to fit in one of my pockets...this way I could get trashed, rock out, and not have to worry about my signed item. And that I did!
[K2M] Monday, August 25, 2008 10:55:21 AM
GOOD LUCK, AND ALL OF THE BEST

Oh neat. I'll bring the booklet just in case. I'm seeing Priest only in Vegas and the venue is in the hotel. I'm really hoping to be able to run back to the room for a second before the show. I bought these monster stillettos for the show, but didn't want to look like a giraffe at the meet'n greet.

[guitardude] Sunday, August 24, 2008 3:13:35 PM
With all the security there, our stuff was safe on the ground in front of us. Most folks brought some type of plastic bag to protect their items. Worked out ok!!

You folks 'down south' are lucky in one respect though...

we didn't get our t-shirts until a couple of weeks after the concert!

[WhiskeyWoman] Sunday, August 24, 2008 2:24:45 PM

Now, there's another difference ... Motorhead didn't play in the two cities we saw them in, only Testament.  (Sorry about the wrong info.)

That sucks for you guys who can't go back to the car or wherever though...  what are you supposed to do with those precious, signed posters???  That's crazy.

In Dallas,we were not allowed to go back to the car. And the M&G didn`t start until after Motorhead. Some of us missed the opening song for Heaven & Hell.
[WhiskeyWoman] Sunday, August 24, 2008 2:14:36 PM
Ooops!

Will the king...  Sorry, I read a little further down the thread...

I guess they do it different in the states from Canada.  We were allowed to leave with our stuff & take it back to the motorhome ...  Sorry if the info is wrong for you folks south of the border.

Hate to tell you, but we had steak & chicken and dessert ... (hot-dogs are good too though!)
[WhiskeyWoman] Sunday, August 24, 2008 2:10:11 PM
Hi there 'will the king'...
They do let people take things back to their car, or wherever.

(And, there is more than enough time to miss Testament, if that's who is still opening.  Yawn...)

  Good luck & have fun!

Yes, five signatures *DO* fit on a CD booklet...!
They managed to fit them all on their own pictures of the "Essential Priest" cover...
Good luck!

I had them sign the Four Horsemen page in the book. Looks great!! What really cool  guys they are!
[spapad] Sunday, August 24, 2008 12:42:02 PM
I brought My Nos book with me but on the off chance they might do it, I asked and they signed my Priest, Red and Black Chuck Taylors! Sooooo what I wanted. Got a G on my right knee too because Glenn thought I meant my pants. Oh, yeah, the open bar! It had me more than a little tipsy!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by willtheking from Saturday, August 23, 2008 10:33:31 AM)

No itinerary here - they must be waiting til the last minute. I don't have anything else for them to sign except the tshirt. Five sigs probably wouldln't fit on a CD booklet.
[willtheking] Saturday, August 23, 2008 10:33:31 AM
you are probably gonna have to carry whatever you have signed around all night. Thats why I kept it small.
[willtheking] Saturday, August 23, 2008 10:31:39 AM
I don't think you can get a pick guard signed. Look at the itinerary they e-mail you and it lists what you can have signed.
[paperflowers] Saturday, August 23, 2008 6:54:33 AM
Is there any gap between the party and the show? I'm seeing Priest in Vegas and my hotel adjoins the venue. I don't want to be dragging my pickguard around all night.
[willtheking] Thursday, August 21, 2008 7:40:50 PM
Ok, here's the skinny on the meet and greet...I did it in NJ.. had to pay for my own vip parking..Nice shirt and lanyard w/ ID..GOOD vip party(2 1/2 hours open bar with dogs+burgers+snacks)..Trivia during party(prizes were Nostradamos posters)...After party went to watch testament and motorhead.. after motorhead meet by side stage and go back to meet and greet.. Can't go back to car so bring something small to get signed unless you don't mind holding it for the whole show..I got a british steel cd cover signed and it fit in my pocket..MEETING PRIEST IS AWESOME..After that i went and watched Sabbath and Priest fifth row center..my life is now complete... BE CAREFUL WITH THE 2+ HOURS OF OPEN BAR..I WAS TRASHED AND IT WAS GREAT..

I had the meet & greet vip package--it was so sweet !!--only lasted 1 to 1 & 1/2 minutes but it was worth it --they were all so nice --Rob asked me if I was from Pittsburgh & I told him I lived 4 hours east but I had to go to MD to pick up 2 friends so it took about 6 hours total--he said they just drove 10 hours  so Amanda asked if I wanted to stand in the middle & I asked if I could stand beside Rob ( I've been in love with him since 1979-1980 )-& bith he & KK out their arms around me & then Rob laid his head on top of mine & I said I love you Rob & he said I love you too--so now I'm in heaven & no matter how many years I live on this earth I'll have that memory with me !!-- I'm still
[guidogodoy] Monday, August 18, 2008 6:11:09 PM
Hmmm...same thing I have been hearing from others. Just a raffle and not "quiz." Perhaps this varies? Did you get VIP parking? I saw nothing about that being included and we paid extra for parking.

Finally, you COULD take the signed stuff back to the car? Best I got from Amanda was a "probably" response.

Thanks and, of course, ADDED my new friend! Always great to know another with fantastic taste in music!

 I'm so excited for you!
The food should be good, and hanging with fellow fans beforehand is really special.  Bone up on Priest's history though, as there are prizes for the right answers...

Priest members seem to be none other than very gracious gentlemen.Say "hi" from Victoria at the Saskatoon VIP ...  yeah right ...  (had to ask   !!!)

Things go really fast, so be prepared -- and ENJOY!!!
It's an incredible experience.

Going to drive down from Kansas City to do the Platinum Experience.

Nice to know we can take our stuff back to the car.

Can't wait to meet the Metal GODZ!

Oh, *sigh*... the Meet & Greet goes so fast...

Not ever one to be tongue-tied ... but it happened.  Which sent my hubbie into shock.  So much to say, so little time.
"My heroes, my Metal Gods".

Yep, that's me at the Sasaktoon "Meet & Greet" dumbstruck and standing there all frozen like a dork, lol!

Now it's my mission to meet them again...
