Just wait until "The Big One" that'll cause CA to "tumble into the sea...." a la Lex Luthor / Superman movie.

Make all the cheap desert property worth a fortune, I tells ya! Now, if only I could afford some.

Yup. As a California resident, I can say with the utmost confidence that living here sucks. Nothing but sun and clear skies as far as the eye can see. Warm temps, too.

Sucks big, furry donkey balls indeed...

FIRST day we don't have any...at the moment. It has seriously been raining here all spring. Supposed to have more thunderstorms later this afternoon and all this week too.

Boy..it must really suck to live in CA...or Hawaii...

No, no need. Was just surprised to find out about Santander being from Spain. Don't think I'll actually go there anytime soon.

Back home? Disappointed over the lack of rain. Time to do the raindance again.

Hi there, is far from I live but if you need address I send you by mp.

[guidogodoy] Monday, October 24, 2016 7:46:15 PM
I actually posted pictures from Cantabria (autonomous province of which Santander is the capital) not so long ago. The caves of Altamira have some of the earliest cave paintings and dinosaur fossils are all around the area. BEAUTIFUL! Keeping on topic? Weather...chilly! Not like Madrid in the summer. Avoiding any sort of major conglomerate enterprise? Good luck! You'd really be hard-pressed to find one that doesn't have tentacles in another nowadays.

No, I never heard of Banco Central Hispano. I only know Santander from going to Mexico over the years. Always thought it had a weird name but never thought about where it might've come from.

Again, learn something new everyday. And with a moral, too. Don't do business with Santander - it will eat you alive (as would any monolith of a company).

¡Cantabria! However, never heard of Banco Central Hispano, Vail? My father and Uncle were both were into starting Credit Unions early in their lives and THAT (the BCH) was a monster! It was supposed to be a "merger" back in the late '90s but Santander just took control and pushed their agenda. Bought up a ton of smaller banks and credit unions (sadly, some of which my father and uncle started) to become the monolith it is today.

So that's where Santander (the bank) comes from?? HA! I didn't know that. You learn something new everyday.

[Vaillant 3.0] Saturday, July 23, 2016 10:23:57 PM
Today's weather report: Smokin' hot (with an emphasis on "smoke")!
[Vaillant 3.0] Wednesday, June 22, 2016 9:06:01 PM
Hope it's not too rough out there, Ronny!

Watching the Spanish-speaking commentators kill time during this storm. Quite the sight there at Soldier Field. The fans huddled under the bleachers trying to stay dry while it's raining cats and dogs (with lightning). A rather striking contrast to the 1st half of the game (watching the Copa América soccer tournament).

Delay can go for up to 2 hrs. Any longer and the game will be delayed for tomorrow. Looking at the radar, looks like this could go for another hour We'll see.

Yeah, a shame that they had to cancel the show, but despite the headache that often comes with traveling, I would prefer knowing that the band is alive and well over seeing them getting fried onstage.
