The problem with Metallica is that the guys in the band think they are more talented than they are, the fact that their music has become irrelevant over the last 15 years proves it. They've run out of ideas, now they just do Metallica by the numbers. also their egos have gotten out of control. Ulrich was always a prick and hasn't changed but Hetfield is the one whose ego has blown way out of proportion to his talent. No wonder Jason Newsted left the band, must be torture hanging around with a couple of asswipes like that.

Feel like listening to some of their classic material now......

Yeah your probably right but I fuckin' hate 'Enter Sandman"!! I don't like 'Sad But True" either, but I could of lived with that...but not Enter Sandman!
Now that set list you have right now would be an "elite" Metallica set list for sure. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Friday, June 26, 2009 5:39:15 PM)

Yeah thought about that but I do like Sad But True and Enter Sandman, whether we like it or not, is a Metallica staple. Metallica brought out a box set years ago called Binge and Purge, contained 3 cds and 3 video tapes. One of the Video tapes was of a concert on the Justice tour, just an awesome show. Setlist is.....
1) Blackened
2) For Whom The Bell Tolls
3) Sanitarium
4) The Thing That Should Not Be
5) Bass Solo
6) Master Of Puppets
7) Fade To Black
8) Seek And Destroy
9) And Justice For All
10) One
11) Creeping Death
12) Guitar Solo
13) Battery
14) Last Caress
15) Am I Evil
16) Whiplash
17) Breadfan
Would have been one of the great metal tours when Metallica toured Justice.

You are so right JJ--I feel they *lost * it when they changed their image --cut their hair ect
they just weren't the same--changing you look should have no effect on the music---( Rob is bald now but he still sounds better than ever)--thye started out good & lost a lot of steam these past years [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Friday, June 26, 2009 5:51:18 AM)

Ulrich was always a prick and hasn't changed but Hetfield is the one whose ego has blown way out of proportion to his talent. As you progress through the game, you could buy some of their snazzy outfits from the 70's. $300.00 for KK's white fedora!

Okay, I remember the add on TV fow the Rock n Roll hall of Fame ceremony, and it stated that Metallica was the heaviest, fastest, greatest band ever. What a load of crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The rock n roll hall of fame is a joke anyway. I am a huge Van Halen fan but if you put Van Halen in there...... shouldnt Priest be in there. Oh well, screw the hall of "fame".
Speaking of a Priest themed music game, wouldnt it be great if there was one. You played as one of the band members as you go through the decades and see the changes in JP's music. It will probably never happen.

There is no other Metallica after the first 3...Well except for Re-revisited with their covers. Pretty funny. I saw Metallica in a tiny old theatre during their Master of Puppets tour, with Metal Church opening. "I'll hit you with a ton of bricks!" That was an incredible show. Haven't wasted a cent on them in concert since. Don't care about their concert in the round or any of their new stuff. When they play them as much on the radio as Aerosmith and Madonna, then I'd say they're done. I almost ALMOST had to buy Guitar Hero Metallica because of Hell Bent for Leather on it. (Why is there no Guitar Hero: British Metal Invasion????) Instead, I was relieved I could get GH: Smash Hits with Electric Eye. At least something Priest. I can't seem to figure out how to get downloadable content. Maybe when my kid is 10 years old, he can explain it to me. Only this week did I finally figure out my MP3 player. Apparently it can be used for more than just an fm radio! And as for that photo with the loafers, grandpa slip-ons and clogs...yeeeesh. Sorry fellas. Lame.

Well, I have no real animosity towards them but I do agree that their OLDER material is best. At least for me. We did Whiplash and I think it came out pretty good. We are working on Seek and Destroy right now. If it turns out OK, I will post a link.

It just kills me that a band like Metallica creates these metal masterpieces in Kill 'Em All,Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets...even And Justice For All.....and then does a 180 on thier fans and puts out garbage.
They create a huge following from 1983 to 1988 and then just throws all thier old time fans in the garbage with albums like The Black Album,Load,Reload,St.Anger,Death Megnetic....what a shame they are. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Deep Freeze from Thursday, May 21, 2009 7:28:15 AM)

To me,they are the most disappointing band in music history.
metallica does NOT suck. they just arent as good as they used to be in the '80s. they came a long way to be where they are today.

Yeah,(lol!) sadly enough....Metallica "died" when Cliff Burton died in 1986. But the first 3 albums with Cliff will live on and will haunt Metallica.......
