Post here the description and links for this type of the bands. If anybody wants to know something else about the band you posted here he can use "private message" option))) I wanted to make such thread because I always find many enteresting bands in other countries (in Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary etc.) Also of course we hail lyrics translations! ;)

This band is great, I purchased the self titled release about 10 years ago and have been a fan since. The first 4 albums are more folky and have a massive amount of keyboards but are worth a listen. This is off a later release.. I want to say 2000?
There... Arkona. Russian folk-pagan-something band... A lot of folklore mixed with heavy metal, set to a slideshow of pictures from Russian folklore and Slavic mythology... The song is called "Sila Slavnih", which means "Force of glory/force of glorious", if Im not much mistaken... A great song, specialy because its not just a knockoff of western bands, but something that Russians took and made their own.

I love "Storm Of The Light's Bane"...I've had this CD since it came out in 1995......and I still play it regularly....awsome stuff........and yes...the once elite black metal scene has
been dead for almost 10 years now or so. Black metal was not meant to be as commercial as it is today....also it was not meant to have so many black metal bands either.
But going back to Storm Of The Light's Bane......yes....it is a classic. I would describe this as "black/death"metal rather than black metal but Dissection was in the heart of the
black metal scene in Sweden so they might as well be titled "black metal". But they do have some death/thrash over tones throughout this album that are noticable.
"Night's Blood" has to be one of the best songs in the entire underground community with it's depth and melodic assult while maintaining it's heaviness......classic stuff.
The band's first LP "The Somberlain" is not as good as Storm Of The Light's Bane, but still a worthy LP and another classic from 1993 in the Swedish underground.

Yeah,Guido is a guy and he posts here quit often.....he enjoys loads of different styles of music. The guy ought to work for a record store or at a radio station.....he really knows his music!!
I would hate to be on a game show like "Jeopardy" and have the subject be about "music"......Guido would take me to town!!! He really knows alot about music.
Yeah,I know you created this thread Russian Priest. I only post metal bands ..either black metal, death metal, thrash metal, speed metal...because thats what I am into...I don't get into very much other music.
I am very "narrow-minded" and only like hard rock bands or "metal" bands of a few different genres....but I enjoy reading/observing other types of music like reading your post about the band Piknik...very interesting.
I have nothing bad to say about them,or any other style of music in this thread. A guy posted the band "Winger" in the classic heavy metal thread and I told him they don't belong in that thread and he got "butt hurt" over it...lol! So I was just having a laugh when I said that you posted Piknik in the right thread! LOL!
Thanks for showing us something different and out of the norm.
Yes, it's really very special band with very interesting music. I like them too much, hope some people here will like them too. 99% of rock and metal bands in post-USSR countries were not original, but Piknik has took its own way and every new album impresses me. That's why they got my respect! This band has jusy only one negative moment - their lyrics is very difficult to translate
Of course I posted them here, because when I created this topic I didn't mean that we will discuss only metal bands here. You may post here all you want! Even R'n'B and Rap
If I got a little time today evening I'll post here something else.

This a power metal band from BeiJing, named "" ,and its English name is "ordnance". they are called "Chinese pantera" here , though I feel they are completely different from Pantera. this is the lastest album which is my favourite one of theirs. they've got an attitude. they run a rock&roll pub in BeiJing to provide the fund for their metal career, and they record ,produce and advertize their CDs all by themselves. So they can never get famous outside the circle. Edited at: Friday, June 26, 2009 9:36:23 PM Edited at: Friday, June 26, 2009 9:37:33 PM

Polish Black Metal, always one of my favorites.....this album is extremely elite and marks a good example of traditional early black metal with it's own style.
