About 27 years I think. I have not been a hard core fan tho, but been one of my TOP 3 metal band of all time between Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osboune. It changes frequently. hahaha

I believe it was 1979, my sister seen them as a warm up band for who know who, she came home and was all like, I just seen the most awesome band, from then on I was a full blown priest fan. Rob has the most amazing voice ever.

My go to song?............That might be near impossible to just pick one. I love so many songs for different reasons. My go to album?  Tough to call, but overall I think I would pick Hell Bent for Leather.  What about you? What would you pick?

Very similar to "winged singer" in that I first heard "Take On The World" either on the radio or on Top Of The Pops back in 1979, at the age of thirteen.

Didn't know who the band was, but knew that this was the music I had to follow.

It wasn't until a couple of years later that I truly decovered the Priest though in 1981, and my first album purchased on it's day of release was the magnificent "Screaming For Vengeance" in 1982.

My first concert was at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1983, and I've been to every UK tour since, including 4 Ripper shows.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by winged singer from Thursday, August 04, 2011 4:44:21 PM)

PRIEST in 1987. Be PRIEST fan from august 1997 !
For me PRIEST is the most than simply music, PRIEST is my Faith, PRIEST is my Air, PRIEST is my Heart, my soul ! This is truth ! no PRIEST = no Music !

I have been a fan ever since they were in Allentown PA in 1980 for the Festival 80.  I helped with the festival and before that time didn't listen to alot of music.

After hearing them I started listening to all the music I could get.

As of yet I haven't found any I like as much.

I bought Screaming for Vengeance on cassette from a Wal-Mart in rural Missouri in the early '80s.  Wore it and Nazareth Hair of the Dog slick.

I have been a 'Priest fan for a very long time.  Not as long as some.  Much longer than others.  Since I cannot post in the main threads, yet, I will echo HRMG's sentiments ... again.  The feeling I felt when I noticed the new artwork and lineup photos was the kick in the gut and then it was sinking, empty.

At this point, I don't see the new guitarist filling the void.  Nor do I see him contributing at any length with regard to composition, etc.  He will serve a purpose and that is all.  I will be at the shows, if for no other reason than to support Ian, the JP legacy, and to meet those of you I've yet to meet.

It is with a low heart I can sincerely say I am very disappointed.

[Nupe The Ripper] Sunday, April 03, 2011 2:43:33 PM
Heard them for the first time in GTA Vice City back in 2003. At the time I had just gotten into hard rock with Uriah Heep and Deep Purple, so it was an obvious choice for me to listen to V-Rock in that game. Although the song featured in the game (You've Got Another Thing Comin') didn't yet make a huge impact on me back then.

Anyway, three years later I was looking for new bands as Heep & Purple started to sound a little too "soft". Because I knew fairly little about traditional heavy metal (modern metal bands sound like s**t if you ask me), I decided to use the playlist of V-Rock as a base on finding new bands. I admit that I resorted to pirating songs (back then I didn't think about the negative effects of it much). So I downloaded a couple of songs from each of the bands featured in Vice City, and Judas Priest really stood out of the rest. The first songs I heard from them (besides YGATC) were Painkiller, Jawbreaker, Hellrider, Revolution and I think Turbo Lover was there as well. And the more songs I heard from Priest, the more I started to think that "this is it, this is the band I want to start following". In a couple of months later I bought my first Priest CD - Killing Machine - and I consider having been a real fan ever since.

So, around four and a half years of defending the faith. And did I already say that I was born in 1991?

[SpiralDrift] Tuesday, December 21, 2010 4:55:55 AM
I'd heard a handful of Priest songs before and liked them a bit, so I ordered British Steel from one of the mail order CD catalogs in the early 90's. Of course I immediately ordered every other Priest album they had after that. It was mostly their 80's stuff and Painkiller, so I kind of got into Priest through that era, which is still my favorite era to this day. :) I remember not liking Painkiller that much at first because I thought it was too heavy, LOL. It's my favorite album of all time now.

I listened to Fight a lot back then too, right around when they put out their first album.
[fizl] Monday, December 20, 2010 10:46:36 AM
Way, way back in th day, I joined a mail order cassette club.  I really new nothing about metal, let alone Priest.  I had grown up with deep purple, led zeppelin albums from my older brother, and his crew of friends.

I went out on a limb, and chose Sad Wings of Destiny as one of my 12 introductory "free" cassettes...... It was leather, studs, and rock star hair after that!  and to this day, I still absolutely love "Sad Wings of Destiny"
[Lauen] Monday, December 20, 2010 4:11:51 AM
About 5 years, my friend played Painkiller for me, and I was stunned. about a year later I got my hands on the entire collection, and had it all copied into my computer, and I listen to it every day ^^
[YngwiePriestRule!!] Friday, December 17, 2010 9:40:44 PM
I became a fan of Priest in '87. I had just gotten my drivers' license, had an AMC Hornet that I bought for a mere 350 bucks. The factory AM/FM stereo was awesome (or so I thought at the time, LOL!!), and I was discovering my local hard rock/metal station, the mighty DC 101   Those who grew up in the Maryland burbs of D.C. in the eighties remember this station well. THey had a morning DJ named The Grease Man. This was where I heard my first Priest song, "Turbo"!! I'll never forget the first time I heard that song. It was a sunny fall day, and I was driving home from school. I misheard the lyrics, hearing this dude belting out "I'm your terrible lover!!" "Damn!!!", I thought, "This singer must be a real bad ass dude!!" There was something magical about this song. I had to know who it was by. When I asked a couple of classmates about the song, this one dude, who drove a very nice Monte Carlo with Cragars and a nice aftermarket stereo, starts laughing, telling me that the words are "Turbo Lover", not "Terrible Lover", that this is Priest, and what other songs are Priest. I already knew "Livin' After Midnight" and "Breakin' the Law", just didn't know who they were by. Pretty soon, I had cassette copies from K-Mart of Turbo and British Steel for my Walkman, and looked forward to hearing Priest on DC 101.

Rocka Rolla came out the year I was born, 1974. Have been a Priest fan all my life.... but really got into them when I was about 14, 22 years ago!!! Wow, I AM old!!
[don8724] Saturday, December 11, 2010 10:01:34 PM

I've been a full fledged Priest fan since 1982. I heard Living After Midnight on the radio and liked it but when my buddy down the street got the Screaming For Vengance  tape (yes cassette tape folks!), my life changed forever. I got a Walkman and listened to that tape constantly. It wasn't long after that my brother and I got the whole back catalog. The first Priest show we went to was Defenders in 1984 at the St. Paul Civic Center. We were on the main floor in about row 20. Me, my brother and 2 of my friends drank a gallon of Jim Beam before the show. Great White opened. Those were the days...

FOR YOU VAILANT....

If you will look down of Judas Priest page, you will see that the page was designed by Francis Murray, and if you click on his name, this will bring you directly on his site, and there you will see all details about his birth, and also about all his work, and even his contact details.
I notice you are born on 19 february, which means you are on the cusp between aquarius and pisces, because the aquarius sign end on 18 february in old horoscopes but 19 february in new horoscopes,so you can be a aquarian too,and the pisces start in 19 february in old horocopes and even 20 february in new ones,so you can be a pisces too,so definetly you are on the cusp between these two signs, and in that case you have the both character and personality, some from one, some from other, but the better way to enstablish also which is your sign exactly is to know your year of birth, and special the hour and the location of your birth, cause just with these details, you can find your ascendante which is the most important point of your chart and from where practicaly start the building of your own astrology natal chart, and togeter with the positions of planets in the others signs, and houses, and with the aspects between planets, etc ,all will determinate your true character and personality and your destiny and your life in all domains, from health, love, work, and to karma,etc...

So better check for these details first, untill then you can look over the pisces and aquarian personality too,and when you will have all that details about you,and you will give your details to an astrologer todo your chart, then maybe you will be surprised that you are in fact more like other sign, other than pisces or aquarian.

As for my zodiac, well, it depends on which horoscope you look at. There are some that say that I'm a Pisces, others say that I'm an Aquarius, and there's one or two that don't even have my birthdate (February 19).

Thx. for your observation...
I know some of my messages are maybe too much longer, but that is because i am a truly and devoted fan of Judas Priest, and because i want to share here all my thoughts and feelings about they, and a plus,is because i love to write,i am not skimped with the words
I know also that my style messages are maybe too boring for others, but that because i am organize and i like to put my work in a some kind of way and i don't have what to do in changing myself,i am a leo zodiac sign, which means originlity, idea, imagination, creativity in all,but which i must to do JUST in my own style, like the webmaster of Judas Priest, another leo, about which if you know some, when will''see he too has his own style on his work here.
I think also that if someone really want to read what i wrote, then will read, not matter how i wrote, and untill now i already received lots private messages from other fans about what i wrote,so that means they red my full messages, not matter how i wrote, but i will keep account on what you say,at least when i will write some for you,to not be such hard for you to read my messages.
Thx.for your observation also.

Gloriaromana, when you post these you really should "space-bar" apart your paragraphs a few times if the post is that long because it looks like a bunch of "clutter" and nobody is reading it because it hurts the eyes to read it because its all cluttered up. Try using the space-bar to separate the post into a few different sections, this will make your posts easier for other people to read. Just letting you know.

Just like I am doing here right now,now you can see my post much clearer and its much easier for other people to actually read my posts.
