Wow!  Bill sure has changed ... The older gentleman w/ Glenn & Son, and Ken, Ian, and Glenn, is a longtime friend of the band and I believe has a lot to do with managing their schedule while they're out on tour.

This is Bill Curbishly with Pete:

I don't know who that surly looking older fella with Glenn and son is, but he looks serious.

Does anyone know the name of the guy next to Glenn in the white beard?

I do not think it is Bill Curbishley.  I have seen a rare picture of him and I believe he looked different (bald, no beard)

Also is that Glenn's son Rick?

HRMG, Glenn's children are both given credit on a song called  "New Breed" on Glenn's Taptizm of Fire CD. His Daughter Karina was given a writting credit, and his son Rick played drums on the track. As for the rest, I do not know and don't want to.

I also heard a while back that this song was written after Glenn's dad passed away.  There has never been a report about Glenn's wife or ex-wife passing away.

GREAT question!! Seriously, I've wondered the same thing for quite a while myself. I also read that Glenn's dad was sick and sadly passed away. I read an interview with Glenn and they asked about Close to You and he said it's about losing someone close to you, but he never discussed it any further. Then I read some message to Glenn about the song and it said he was sorry about Glenn's wife passing away and what a beautiful song he wrote for her. I looked into it, but could never find out anything about Glenn's wife. I noticed back during the Demolition period, Glenn wasn't wearing that silver pinky ring anymore.... don't know if that was his wedding ring, but he always wore it before.

One thing that I very much admire about Priest is that they keep their private lives PRIVATE. I haven't even heard Glenn mention his wife's name or the names of his 2 children. I'd love to know the answer to this question too, but I doubt it's written any place and I think we have heard some of the same rumors. Let me know if you find out!!

I love this song, it's really beautiful and touching. Every time I try to sing it, I end up crying right at the part  "And as I stand here by the grave.... and the wind calls out your name, I know that time will never heal, the emptiness I feel". Glenn outdid himself on this one!

I have a question about the song off Demolition:   Close To You

I read one time the Glenn's dad was quite ill and sadly passed away.
After listening to this song I seems like it would make sense that he wrote this for his dad - a very emotional and touching song.

Then at the Priest show this past week, when talking with some folks, someone mentioned that Glenn lost his wife in death (rumor perhaps?) and the song was written as a memory to her.
(Then someone else mentioned that he divorced her three years ago)

Does anyone know the true story (or stories)?
