| Super favorite album, Defenders of the Faith. It was also my first intro to Priest. I was scarred forever. (But also love Sad Wings, Screaming, Nostradamus, and everything else they do!) Least favorite, but will listen to it occasionally, is Turbo. I'm trying to collect the Re-masters cds (I have all the vinyl, which I can't play due to a lack of a working player,) and just got Turbo in the mail. Holy crap. I can't even describe the cheesy lyrics. And I seriously can't listen to all of Parental Guidance. I tried, but it was...just...so....cheeeezy!!! Yes I know it was "the era", but COME ON. I think if hey had written those songs for some other american hair metal band, they might have been somewhat successful, but this didn't fit Priest at all. I like Turbo Lover and some other assorted songs, but there are some un-Priest-like ones on there. But for what's it worth, I discovered a new one on there, which is the bonus track All Fired Up. A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! Priest's 'Ace of Spades'. What a great little gem! I can't stop listening to it! I'd love to hear it live. |

 You guys are too much!!! I can't stand Parental Guid...I can't even finish typing the name...
Turbo is by far my least favorite Priest album. I can handle listening to most if it if my daughter's around because she's 19 and has liked it since she first heard it...at least it's Priest, right?! But with songs like "the one I will not name", "Private Property" and "Wild Nights..." AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH I wanna pull my freaking hair out!!!! I was too old at the time of it's release to relate to most of it, but I certainly don't blame the younger fans who do in fact like it!!!
Screaming for Vengeance is definitley my all-time favorite Priest release. Other's such as HBFL and British Steel are very close behind as they were my intro to Priest (HBFL first), but SFV came after POE and I was sooooo ready for more Metal and the mighty Priest delivered!!! Cuts like "Riding on the Wind", "Bloodstone" , "Fever" and "Devils Child" all have great grooves to them..."SFV", the title track, WOW!!!! In 1982 no less!!! Too bad we had to wait 'til "Painkiller" to get another like that!! A true classic and the epitomy of Classic Heavy Metal Music!!!  |

Hahaha, ya got me there. Parental Guidance is by far their worst song ever writen. And yes, Turbo was a very weak album for them in the '80s, where they were high atop the Metal kingdom at the time. Why release an album like Turbo when you're that successful, who knows. And then to try and go back to speed with Dave Holland when he's starting to faulter is beyond me, so THANK YOU SCOTT TRAVIS for coming to Priest in '89 and subsequently putting the PAIN in Painkiller and putting Priest back on top! But seriously, no more mentioning Parental Guidance, please! I can't take it!

Anyways, Let me just say that my first introduction to JP was Unleashed In The East. That album (back when I was 5) was phenominal and I enjoyed the hell outta that album. Then along came Painkiller and that album is my absolute favourite album. I believe that one album really pinpoints the reaf fire and emotion inside Judas Priest (besides Stained Class and Screaming For Vengeance). 13 years later, 20 concerts later (from 2004 - present), I'll never forget the mighty Metal Gods!
To say my least favourite album, excluding the Ripper era, definitely has to be Ram It Down. I'm sorry, the drum machine kills it. Myself, being a drummer, I can cover every single track on that album! (Then again, Scott is my main drumming influence and he could nail those songs as well!) It was sad that the drum machines were brought in, but it was known (as you view videos from the '88 tour) that Dave didn't have all the energy the rest of the band had, which in turn brought in the "Machine Man" himself Scott Travis and Painkiller was born, along with Angel Of Retribution and Nostradamus.

Ooooh decisions decisions!
Favourite - Hard choice, but I will go with Screaming for Vengeance. This album was my introduction to Priest, and it was like an awesome slap in the face with a heavy metal stick LOL!!!! I love every song on this album, no joking, it's just fantastic.
Least Favourite - Not counting Ripper Era in this, I'd say a tie between Rocka Rolla and Turbo. I still like both, just not as much as the others. Rocka Rolla cos, being their first album, for me anyways it was not very polished for lack of a better word (I think this is common for debuts). Turbo, cos it is super cheesy LOL!!! If I am in the right mood I will listen to it, but yeah, absolutely not their best album.
