I'm ok with nugent and his music.
As long as I dont have to listen to his shit about guns , drugs, or right wing politics.
All these things are part of your personal life and Nugent is a musician not a philosopher
so his opinion is just that an opinion !!
he needs to , in the words of Frank Zappa : Shut up and play yer guitar !!

I love these old Ted Nugent tracks. This guy had it going on.
[Steve Forrest] Wednesday, August 17, 2011 5:53:12 PM
I loved Weekend Warriors. The whole album. That was his best. Plus the song Stranglehold. Everything else he has done is crap. Now he's the Chuck Norris of hard rock and I wish he would just disappear.

Most everything up til the Scream Dream album is pretty good.
Most everything else after is crap. (in my opinion) [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Tyrant from Friday, July 29, 2011 10:39:59 PM)

I loved Ted Nugent back in the day. The first time that I saw him live was 1978.
He was so badass. I was paying about $7.00 a ticket at the time and when he came
around it was $9.00. I almost didn't go (thinking it was too much). I'm glad I did. I think
it was the tour he recorded for Double Live Gonzo or the tour right after because
everything he said before the songs is the same as DLG. It was also the first time that
I saw anyone use explosions. He was standing on a tower of speakers jamming away
and jumped to the stage. As soon as he hit there was an explosion. It scared the fuck out
of me and made me a little sick in the belly. I thought he just got blowed up. When the
smoke cleared he was still there jammin' away. I was like that was fuckin' bad! (I was only 12)
so you can imagine my excitement. I saw him 5 more times, the last in 2001. I hated his rants
so much I never went again. I haven't really cared for his music too much since Intensities.

Sweaty Teddy has said he eats everything he kills and also uses the fur to make clothing for his family leaving nothing to waste . I prefer DOUBLE LIVE GONZO !!!
[Guitardude.] Sunday, January 10, 2010 2:42:06 PM
You could say Ted is a career hunter. He even has his own hunting stores, and a show about it. The reality stuff is cheesy, but his more serious stuff is great. He hunts whatever is "in season", but being a true hunter he uses a bow rather than a rifle in most cases. Plus the area here in Texas he moved to is heavily populated with dear. I have had a near miss with a dear on my motorcycle and have seen the aftermath of car collisions with dear, Ted is doing us a public service. Hey Vail, I'd have to agree with Necro on the getting the old stuff.
It is Ted at his true best! "Live Gonzo" will give you a great sample of early
stuff then you could go from there if you wanted more!
Ted for Prez.. he's got my vote!

I have to agree with GD. Stanglehold is incredible. GREAT album. I love ol' Ted.

[Necroticist] Friday, January 08, 2010 12:29:31 PM
I found Weekend Warriors an 'acquired taste'...ya it's good...but personally for a noob i'd get 'Ted Nugent', 'Free For All', 'Cat Scratch Fever' or 'Double Live Gonzo' first. Wikipedia gives ya the info. The last couple he's done are pretty good too, but personally i'd start at the beginning and miss out the several lame CD's i hinted at in the last post.

It depends. If he sticks to making music and stays off reality tv shows and stops making horrible movies like Beer For My Horses, I may have more respect for him. I loved the Weekend warriors album. Sometimes I agree with his political views. I think that thing with the 15-year-old girl was fucked up. Sometimes I like him and sometimes I hate him.
