I was wondering the same thing myself. I guess if they are only playing Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, (nothing in between), then Toronto, Montreal, & Quebec City, they might as well be on the US tour. The worst part is, I don't see Minneapolis on the list either, so it's a looooong road trip for a show from any of us in central Canada. Never thought I'd miss a tour. Just wondering what to expect from JP on this tour. Will we actually get something (anything?) that Priest has never played live before? Or the same old classics..I hope not. I still do not like the fact they are on again off again on whether this will be there last tour...Also, is Priest over estimating the demand to see this 2011 tour (especially here in the US) now that KK is no longer part of the lineup? Another thing to consider: Priest may have over saturated their market (especially here is the US again) since reuniting...every summer since 2006, two legs of AOR and the British Steel in its entirety. In between, a weak release = Nostradamus and you may have the average fan saying no thanks. I have a feeling their ticket sales maybe low as they have not released anything new or unreleased from the vault but are dubbing it as a farewell tour. Sorry but it doesnt add up to the consumer shelling out $75 - $125 to see Priest again playing the same tired setlist in this economy. Not trying to slag them, but these are different times and I feel the train may have already left the station (or has the sun already set) for Judas Priest. MpleSyrp

I am with you HRMG. I would love to see them in an arena again! You are right, you just don't get the same effect from Rob's screams outdoors. Plus, I just like a good arena show. My guess is that we will get an August-September swing through the US and then a second leg next summer. My hope is August-September outdoors, followed by an indoor leg in October-November. |

I hope so Becks!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that they go to NZ! Maybe Scott will tell them how awesome it was and that he met a HUGE Priest fan there and they HAVE to go to NZ this time around

It was just as incredible as when I saw them at the Palace in Detroit in Dec. '90. Outdoor venues just don't do his voice justice in my opinion. I want that piercing scream to cut right through me one last time!!!

So Sad to hear that this is going to be Priest's last tour. I know they're getting up in years and I'm sure the touring gets hard on the body after doing it as long as they have. I wonder if they will go off and do solo projects or produce etc? All I have to say is they made a lasting impression on me and were such a big influence. It won't be the same without them around. I'm a little sad right now. |
