I just stoped here to say that the new album Redeemer of Souls is great.
I like this things:
It has so many songs, great that you decides to record and release so amny songs. Some of the extra songs is in fact better than some of the regulars in my ears. I hoped that you would release a new double album and you basicly did that. Keep on doing that, please!
I especially like that you have gone back to your roots with some of the songs, like for instance "Beginning Of The End" that sounds a bit 70-ties, you know Black sabbathish - and Sabbath is one of my absolut favourit bands. Please, more songs like that, I just love it.
We have several new classics on this album and you can forget all those who think this is a weak album - it is one of your best, without questions!!!
Just keep on going, Priest, and keep on feeding us more albums like this!

1) "Black Country" - a dark album that insults the worlds metal-hating nerds a last and final time with metal on the limit of crying blood and eating
dirt kind of metal-experience. An album that bends itself in and out of dark, fast and heavy supermetal. (In simplier words: songs similar to
Hellrider and Night Crawler - but with a dark and trembling twist of songs in the likes of Victim of Changes or The Ripper)
2) "Major Metals´ Lions Hearts Pub Band" - an fantastic album that will go further down the glory alleys of creativity and artistry than any band has
done before (including ALL bands, get that). An amazing and also fantastic insight in the future to come in Metal - when reaching the highest of
artistic steeples.
The question is:
Will Priest be able to do this - or will they bang out on this!
Think how hungry Priest will be soon and wants to go out on tour. Think of how badly they need to eat their hearts out on a metal-stage near
you.
They can´t do that well without a nice double album to back them up. The interrest will not be as great without many new songs under the belt.

Right, Vail, about the passion thingy.
And yes, I am a Christian, but as you might have noticed, not a prudish one.
To me, "sin" is being non-loving. As humans, we can't avoid sinning in this way, but I do try to learn from my mistakes and reform myself.
Re music, I can't stand the neo-Christian "Jesus came to me" drone. I tried that and new age music for years, and it was driving me nuts. I needed somethin with a different meaning of nuts.
So I listen to any sorta metal that's not explicitely anti-Christian, like I enjoy Slayer, but not Dimmu Borgir. Fortunately I don't even like the music of bands like DB and Nile.
I see that there are both Christians, agnostics, and self-declared atheists on this board, maybe even Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus, and that's great. I love individuality and diversity.
Nicky, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Hellrider. There's nothing wrong with having a strong passion for Judas Priest Heavy Metal. There's nothing wrong with expressing your love for the greatest band in the world every day. Unless you consider that a sin, as much as you probably think that putting up pics of Judas Priest and worshipping their looks and music at the same time is a sin. Are you sure that you, a "civilized" person, can handle us savages?

Here's what I wrote about Nostra in the Arena forum "The Shattered Room". Might be of interest to some of you guys:
The only album in the world I'v given 100/100
I'v already written a lot about Nostra (as they call it in the Priest forum) in the Room. But let me sum up. It has everything that I love in rock music:
1) It has a calm and balance in both music and lyrics that only very experienced musicians can render. (Priest go back to 1969.)
2) It brings to life the deep Christian feelings that I experience.
3) It tells the story of a human who went his own way in his seeking, first feeling alone, but after terrible ups and downs, with strong conviction pursued what he felt was his dharma or holy path.
4) Despite being ostracised and persecuted, Nostradamus showered his love and respect onto all human beings, rich and poor, by treating them medically, psychologically and existentially.
5) Rob Halford is a unique singer, and very mature. He fills the shoes of Nostradamus with conviction, terrific and terrible.
6) All of the wide-ranging musical and philosophical experiences of the guys are brought into this work, in perspective and balance. It's a cornucopia of music. There's no other work I know of that has such a range of moods, thoughts, and musical expression.
Priest's Nostradamus is a monumental work !!!

Let me picture it in the following way: On a scale of 0-100, Nostra would imo be 100 (the only album in the world with 100, Jeff Loomis' Zero Order Phase would be 99), Angel would be 90, Jug & Dem would range somewhere between 85 and 90 (gotta listen to'm more), and the earlier JP albums would go up to about 80.
I know I'm steppin on a lotta toes now, but remember guys: I got to JP via Pink Floyd and Dream Theater
And I'm of course hopin' - and expectin' - that Priest will surprise us once again, with somethin totally different

Don't get me wrong guys. I also really like Priest's heavy stuff (as well as Iced Earth's, Nevermore's and others'). I just see that Priest are taking up more religious and spiritual themes, and Nostra has more mellow passages than earlier albums. I foresee more of that, but I'm sure they'l also have some more great "blistering metal", like Death and Future Of Mankind.

Nostradamus is a Masterpiece!!!
I`m glad many Judas Priest fans recognize this, though it does not surprise me. What surprises me is the negative view some fans have about Nostradamus which is a profound, mature and sophisticated album that shows evolution!. We should all applaud and take our hats off to the Metal Gods ( as Nikitah Imani said ). They challenged themselves and dare to do something different and sensational. I would love to listen to Nostradamus live in its entirety!!!

yes, it is italian. Nostradamus was french but he knew several languages of couse, besides, amog his travels he visited Italy many times... besides as I read in wiki "..feeling vulnerable to religious fanatics, he devised a method of obscuring his meaning by using "virgilianized" syntax, word games and a mixture of other languages such as Greek, Italian, Latin and Provençal".... Got the 3-LP version of Nostradamus - definitely the way to hear it.
Took me a long time to get into this record, at first I was wondering WTF they were trying to do. Then I read the "Classic Rock" review, where they simply said "it's a concept album. Get used to it". So I listened again, properly. Holy shit! Nice work gentlemen :-) Very brave, and well done on the Grammy nominations. About time the industry took notice of the greatest band of all time!
