Scurpi, don't listen to them. Just be yourself. In a few years, you'll be 18 and able to do whatever you want. Plus, you'll meet people who like you just the way you are.
I bought a Flying V a few weeks ago and I"m also teaching myself to sing metal. I don't care if I'm female or too old - it's my life :). [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by ScurpiPriest from Tuesday, June 10, 2008 3:26:28 PM) | | ScurpiPriest wrote: | | I say this because:

- The old people tell me I'm listing to satan music... and that I'm a satanist. I know I'm a 14 year old metal head from Norway, but that doesn't make me a satanist :D
- People hate me when I say to religious people( then I mean VERY, VERY religious); Your god hates fags... My god loves fags..
- People often think I'm not a real fan, I only like em because of Painkiller and Breaking the Law. But seriously, I love em more than you can imagine :o
Anyways, I just wanted to share, because I have no idea. I want to show the world my English is good. Okok, I just kidding.
Love, Scurpi. |

Yes, and Southern Baptist ministers also believe that PO the tellituby was gay.
Im glad I dropped out of organized religion at the age of 8. Music is not a religion, although there's plenty of music (even Heavy Metal songs) which are religious IMO.
Kiss (Knights in Satan's Service)...at least that's what preachers in Southern Baptists churches were saying their name stood for....wrote God gave rock and roll to you & (II). I find that most interesting. The band I quit going to church over wrote that song. Which is what I posted awhile back as being the most heavy metal thing I've ever done. Things that make me go Hmmmmmmm. Edited at: Saturday, June 21, 2008 11:56:09 AM |

Well.. There is no rock club where I live. There is NOTHING where I live. Not even in Bodø.
Or, there is alot of metal heads there, tho.
A guy once said I had a nice t shirt.. I had Slayer =D
Anyways.
I got ... two metalhead friends in real life, I think.
The one is my bestfriend(shock, huh?), and the other one is a girl I met at some meetings. She's cool, and she likes almost everything rock/metal.
But.. I do not get offended by people calling me shit, I'm just fuckin' tired of it!
Oh, damn. |

It doesn't matter how old you are, if you are a fan you are a fan. Fuck what people say negatively about you. As for having no real metalhead/rocker friends....try some metal/rock clubs, you can always find some there. I've found many metalhead friends through gigs I've gone to and will make many more. And don't let people tell you what you know or don't know. They don't know that. |

Just ignore the ones that think you're satanic(as best you can), you may loose some buddies over this, but that's probably for the better. To contact people that are your own age that like metal, try making friends with an older member of the metal community, probably a women, and have her give you advice. There are other metal fans your age, they are just not as out as you are, probably. |

Yes we love the music because it is the most exciting music there is. We are rockers. Dont be worried when you get the looksfrom non rockers. We understand that musically we cant meet on each others terms so forget it. It doesnt mean anything other than we like different styles of music. We are all different and that rules. Hard Rock is hard and some souls cant live with it. And negativity judged is a part of it. Who is judging who, We are enjoying music that sets our hearts and lives on fire. It is our time of living and we are what we are. understood or not. Until our days pass |

Yeah, I get stuff like that at school. I explain to a group of friends that I'm a Judas Priest fan...
-First, theres the blank, question-mark-over-head look. Then the 'errr, who?'
-I explain who Judas Priest are.
- Then everyone sort of draws back a few steps, with suspicious looks, as if they expect me to suddenly attack them or something.
- Then someone will step forward for THE question, generally in an unconvincingly casual voice.
"So, you're like some sort of satanist, then?" (or variations on this)
Its all quite entertaining, actually. But the best is when someone tried to 'give' me advice on the lines of 'if I stop wearing black and listening to metal people will stop avoiding me in the street'. I nearly died laughing- she was being really serious!! Edited at: Wednesday, June 11, 2008 4:49:38 AM |

Just remember to be true to yourself and not let anyone or anything change you (unless you deem it to be for the best); do your absolute best in school; and get out and see the world at least once. Live your life to the fullest, but do not live beyond your means.
If someone doesn't care for your taste in music, then that's on them. For example, my wife isn't a metalhead by any stretch of the imagination, but she is understanding of my love for the genre, and I'm well-rounded enough musically to enjoy what she listens too. None of my friends are fans of Priest, Testament, Heaven 'N' Hell, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, or Motorhead, but that's OK. My one brother is the only person I know who likes the stuff I listen too. So, it's all good as far as I'm concerned. |

I can relate. Everyone thought I was weird for liking them and not some mainstream band. But at least it allowed me to stand out haha
Now everyone knows a Priest song and respects them. I guess I'm not so weird now haha |
