When it comes to albums: Judas Priest, Metallica, AC/DC, Motorhead and Shadows Fall rock me the most.
When it comes to live performances (including DVDs and CDs and not just being at the concert): Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Children of Bodom, Alice Cooper and Heaven and Hell.

KISS was my first love of Rock n Roll music, dare I say ABBA before them when I was like 8years old...lol.
Kiss my first concert at 13 years old, it was fantastic.
Then at high school at 13, I was introduced to Judas Priest and AC/DC and life was never the same again. They and the following two ladies are my all time favs.
I was huge fan of Queen of Rock SUZI QUATRO and Queen of Noise LITA FORD....YEAH!!!
Krokus Screaming of the night album made big impression and as did Motorhead, Saxon (wheels of steel..choice), the scorpions and Billy Squier.
Never got into the Gunners much (like Slash but just couldn't do the Axel snake belly thing) but did like Def Leppard and some of Van Halen's stuff also.
Over the years with the new stuff other than some songs of Metallica and Motley Crue there's nothing.  I like Puddle of Mud and I like Smashing Pumpkins (but Corgan's ego became overbearin)
BUT NOTHING BEATS THE PRIEST, THEY ARE THE BEST EVER AND FOREVER.

Kiss was my first concert and my #2 all time fav band! JP is #1. 1979 saw them live for the first time (kiss) and I was on my way to rockin' everyday. Isaw JP on the Screamin' tour in 82' for first time and it was then kiss was replaced! Maiden was also an influence with the Piece of Mind tour. eddie is so cool live! Too many moments to list maybe another time

KISS were my introduction to the hard rock world.     At that time, I was maybe 5 or 6 years old...and maybe they didn't have the same effect on every 5 or 6 year old kid back in 1975 like they did on me,  but I was hooked.     I thought their image was just too cool for school, and I liked how the songs sounded.    In the years that followed, I became more familiar with bands like  Black Sabbath,  Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple  courtesy of older kids in my neighborhood as well as older family members who listened to one or the other.      Once I discovered Judas Priest around the fall of 1980 or so...that was the REAL start of my interest in heavy metal.     I was also loving how Black Sabbath were sounding with Ronnie James Dio by '81,  and by 1982...I was WELL inducted.

Since that time, the bands that rocked my world are the bands I still listen to and love to this day....most of which include, but aren't limited to:   Priest,  Sabbath,  Rush,  Queensryche,  King Diamond,  KISS,  Purple,  Rainbow, Pantera,  Godsmack,  Drowning Pool (when they first emerged...not too crazy 'bout what they're doing these days).

Again...there are several others...but those bands largely comprise my metal diet.

Back when I was a kid I saw Iron Maiden for the "World Slavery Tour", the out come of that was one of the greatest albums ever "Live After Death". The power of that show left me in Metal Heaven till this day. Then I saw JP live and that was another one of those shows that the stars were alligned right. I don't know if it was the intoxication mixed with the music and the strength of youth, but I remember those nights like they were yesterday. There have been others worth mentioning, but I want to see how popular this topic is before writing more.
