2008 Certainly belongs to Motley Crue, great new album, killer concert, Sixx A.M. the Heroin Diaries, The Dirt. They are undoubtedly the Kings of American Hard Rock for now. I saw Van Halen a few months ago and Motley Crue KICKED THEIR ASS!! Discuss new tour, concert reviews, Heroin Diaries...

I am a day late and a dollar short on this topic, but I have been away for quite some time. I have never been a Motley Crue fan, only liking a few songs here and there, but decided to go with my daughter. We had a blast. A large part of why it was much fun was because it was a mother/daughter outing. But also after reading  The Dirt and The heroin Diaries I saw them as people. I certainly do not feel sorry for the problems that they are to be blamed for. Motley wasn't bad, better than I thought them ever to be. I think the most talented out of all of them is Mick Mars. I am not going out and buying every CD they put out, but would go again if it were a festival situation again.

Maybe he  is a dickhead, they were still better than Van Halen.  VH pussed out.  The bar band I saw after VH was louder than they were and you couldn't hear the drums at all.  I left the VH concert so pissed.  Not saying MC is better than VH, but for this year, 2008, Motley kicked VH's ass.  After the Crue was done, I felt like I had a true rock experience and saw 4 good bands.  Not that god-damned reggae crap 17,000 didn't give a shit about that opened.  VH was great in '04 on the Best of Both Worlds tour, but their sound man on this latest tour can go jump off a bridge or should be a grocery store clerke.  The sound at VH was inexcusable.  I don't like saying this, I have been a huge ambassador for VH since 1978 when I bought both Van Halen and Hell Bent for Leather with my allowance.  Those 2 records changed my life...  I have every VH record, every JP record.

I dont know man, ive just never been to big a fan of the crew. They were more of a hair band that tried to hard to look like girls. I'll say they had a lot of good songs, and they are talente, but i really hate tommy lee, he's such a fag. The show they held in my home town, i read in the paper that tommy lee was swearing at some chick on stage because she wouldnt show him her tits. Her boyfriend was getting pissed off because he just wouldnt drop it and was calling her a stupid slut because she would flash him. He finally told tommy lee to shut up and then lee, threatened to come kick his ass. Like what the hell is that about? Thats not metal man thats bullshit. the little respect i had for the band went out the window. For me seeing Eddie live for the first time, ripping up Eruption, was just amazing, and singing to all the first album, and one of the only bands besides Maiden that came out and did an insane encore. Priest didnt even play an encore.

Dime, I saw them here in Dallas, I was very disappointed, the sound was terrible which is no excuse for a supergroup like Van Halen.  Couldn't even hear the drums man, I was pissed.  There was no beat, the band I saw later that night at the bar I went to was louder than Van Halen.  I took my VH decal off my 4Runner I was so pissed.  I saw Sammy about 2 weeks before VH and Sammy kicked their ass.  I also didn't like seeing the kid over there where Michael Anthony should have been.  I spent over $200 that night w/parking/beer/t-shirt.  I've not even worn that t-shirt because I was so disappointed in their BS production.

Motley Crue has 8 Semis man, I bet 4 were for their PA system alone.  2008 belongs to Motley Crue.  It could have also belonged to Judas Priest but they put out the wrong album at the wrong time.  Hard Rock and Heavy Metal are back, Priest could have spear-headed this, but instead it's Motley Crue.  They were amazing, they have morphed into something else now.  Really, you should have heard their PA system, sounded like Priest on the Turbo or Ram It Down tour or like Sabbath in '05 when Priest opened..

AMEN !  All that and getting Mick back amongst the living is an amazing feat.  I would have been happy if helping Mick was all that came of it, but they are doing so much more.  Can you imagine how creative Nikki must be to be able to write for Crue & Sixx AM ?  Guys awesome !

Just saw Motley Crue July 24th here in Dallas.  I knew they were going to be good, but this was a whole new level.  They are now part of Rock Royalty and for now, in 2008 are the undisputed Kings of American Hard Rock.  For now at this time they are on top of Van Halen, GNR, Velvet Revolver, Tesla, Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Bon Jovi, the Cult and KISS.  I couldn't believe how good they were, and how LOUD they were, but GOOD LOUD..  It was one of the best sounding concerts I've ever seen.  Concerts in the 80's just seem to have been louder.  The best sounding concert I've been to since Sabbath, Judas Priest and Slayer in '05..  I also just finished Heroin Diaries, love Sixx A.M. and am reading The Dirt.  Their new album is the best hard rock record to come out since Appetite For Destruction, they are doing it, I was very proud of them on the 24th.  Gotta give credit where it's due and they are helping spearhead a HUGE ROCK COMEBACK..!!!!
