He wouldn't play at the PNC ART CENTER.  I don't  think he has ever. To small.  The artcenter has an issue to settle when it comes to concerts that have bands that play metal/hard rock. It's the drinking that goes on before the shows. That's why the beefed-up troopers in the parkinglot. Starting the show earlier never would have happened, this does not reduce the drinking, it would have increased it. knocking one of the two opening acts off the bill, or cutting their setlist might be the way to do it. People dying in your parkinglot  isn't good. Doesn't matter if it's drugs or booze. Underage drinking is a big problem at these shows, we all did it when we were much younger. They have made it a point to stop it, or at least try to control It. I'm not happy either, but PRIEST isn't gonna be playing MSG anytime soon. So i'll drive the 40 mins. and deal with it.

THe fish might be a factor.  The maiden show in Irvine played until curfew. The Curfew was impossed for some protected species ordinance. noise curfew? If not now eventually. The Fish might rock. but we get forced to feel good with what they say is good. Even if the fish are METAL.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Soylentgreen4u from Tuesday, August 12, 2008 10:39:22 AM)

What they should have done was start the show 2 hours earlier this way Priest could have given us a REAL show and not less than an hour and a half. They went on at about 9:30 and I got back at my truck by 11:00 what kind of BS is that? Friggin Noise Ordinance Bullshit  ITS MUSIC ASSHOLES It's not noise !!!!  Will I go see Priest again? Hell Yeah !!!!!!!!!! Will I go to PNC   Hell NO !!!!!!!!! I'd travel 1000 miles to see Priest if need be. Would I buy the Meet and Greet again? Hell NO !!!!!!!!!! Not if they're using the same company that they used this time and they're locked in for 3 years contract with these incompitants   UGHHH.  I know of A LOT of NJ Priest fans that are not very happy right now Including me with this company.

THANKFULLY,AS FAR AS I KNOW,THIS NOISE CURFEW SITUATION WILL NOT BE A FACTOR WITH REGARDS TO THE METAL MASTERS SHOW IN TORONTO,CANADA  ...AT THE AMPHITHEATRE,RIGHT ON THE SHORES OF LAKE ONTARIO...SO I DON'T THINK THE FISH WILL MIND.   ......

They should eliminate Testament or cut their set and Motorheads set short.....
[PRIESTMAN] Monday, August 11, 2008 5:24:53 PM
PNC art center NJ, setlist cut short by 5 songs Because of Holmdels  bullshit noise ordinance. Less than an hour and a half of Priest? WTF?PNC's security sucked. How could I miss most of 4 songs from the second row center? Answer! a bunch of drunken idiots trying to get to the stage that were trampling everyone in site including Me and my Wife as security is watching this happen and shrugging his shoulders as I'm telling him to do something about it. And then 4 idiots get past security and get on stage during the concert. Nothing against Priest  this was out of their control , But alot against PNC art center, This was the Worst Priest show ever at PNC and I've seen them in concert Here in the past few years and had a Great time. I've seen them elsewhere and had a Great time. I've been a true fan for 32 years and have always enjoyed their concerts. I have to agree the sound was Great . The meet and greet was a cattle call at best. Don't bring a camera, we'll post the picture on our website for you, OK ,went to see my picture with the band and low and behold it's not there, Nor are alot of fans pictures who paid their good hard earned money. Would I ever pay $400.00 for a ticket with a meet and greet again? NO F--king way. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I rate this concert at PNC a -2.

I was at the PNC show too but I though Testament and Motorhead sucked!  The sound was terrible.  Even Heaven and Hell, who I've seen now 4 times, I thought their sound was not that good.  I was getting worried the sound at PNC sucked but Priest sounded unbelievable so I guess I would have to say it just comes down to their sound crew.  I also thought Heaven and Hell were way too loud. After seeing them 3 times last year and every time sounding perfect, I was a bit disappointed.  Hopefully when I see them again Friday night, the sound will be better.  Mohegan usually has pretty good sound. Priest was definitely the best of the evening all around!

First let me say the show at the PNC art center was awsome. I didn't understand one word that Testement sang but their music sounded good. Motorhead I loved.

Heaven and Hell was tremendous Dio's voice was great Iommi was super and they had a great set list. They played the expected and some great supreises.

Maybe because I enjoyed my self so much. When you are having fun time flies. But it felt like Priest went on and went off.  They sounded great and really looked like they had a lot of fun on stage. Halfords smile during the ""OOOOH Yeahs at the beginning of You've got another thing coming was great.

I do wish they would have played more of the Nostradamus album and a few more older songs. I realize they have so many great songs they have to play and maybe because I've seen them 50 some odd times, but i'd loved to have heard some older songs I haven't heard in a while.

I know it's hard to cut out hell bent for leather and green manilishi and metal gods, but if they would have replaced those with rock forever, savage and rocka rolla and included sinner, death and something else from the new album....................I guess I'm asking for perfection.

What pisses me off about the tour is they put 3 fucking headliners on the same bill and they put the show in Camden of all places.  They could've just as easily put the show across the river in Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center, where they would have had a frigging 15,000+ audience and no fucking noise ordinance!  Fucking Live Nation!

Yes, I am also copying the above text and posting it in the pissed off thread too.

Bottom Line: START TESTAMENT EARLIER!!!
Hell, everyone wants to fuckin' see the main act, Judas Fucking Priest!

I don't see why they'd force Priest to cut their set list, that's absolut bullshit.

Thank god when they came here to MN (Aug. 2nd) it wasn't part of the MMT, and I got to stand at front row and fuckin' bash out to all their songs!

New Jersey has some fucked up laws, and this one would have to top it...
Noise Curfew . . . That's the saddest shit I've ever heard...

Whatever, I'm done...
Thank god I don't live over there, and I apologize to y'all who had to take part in the humiliating act of a Noise Curfew...

Its amazing to hear you guys slagging off legendary bands like motorhead, I've seen them twice in the past two years and they don't do a bad show. The crowds here are getting bigger and younger each time, Lemmy is a true rock monster [ and he's funny as hell!]. You don't know how lucky you are. I've learnt as I get older, to drink less and rock out more. Get 6 or 7 beers in and go see it, at least I can remember what I saw these days. Would love to see Testament, they've never been here, I've liked them since 1989, I see they're playing Australia again for the 2nd time in 18 months! As for Heaven & Hell, consumate performers, if a little boring. When they played Auckland last year [ with Down] they only did 9 songs, as the headliners, and the show [ presumably ] was cut short by a fire alarm. If they hadn't been playing the turgid Heaven & Hell song for 25 fuckin' minutes, we could have heard another 5 songs! Be grateful for what you get, and never miss Motorhead, they are an aquired taste [ took me about 20 years to fully appreciate them] but once you get them , you love em. I do agree you should be getting a full set though, thats a rip off.

I agree that the concert would be better without all the extra bands. One opening act is enough. I don't mean to disrespect the bands opening for Priest. I never got into Motorhead, but there were years where I listened to Testament and DIO (now in "Heaven and Hell") alot. I think they each have about 20 kick ass songs. But when I'm going to a Priest concert....I want to see as much Priest as I possibly can.

With that said, I still VERY much enjoyed the Virginia show on Aug. 7. Priest sounded awesome. Crystal-clear sound and Halford was flawless. Hopefully next time they'll just have one opening act and play a few more songs (they played 16 in Virginia).

Just got back from Camden, New Jersey, where I saw the Metal Masters tour 2008.  I thought the Priest portion seemed short, like they quit early or something.  That's crap if they had to cut it short for a stupid noise curfew.  I mean, come on, it's friggin' Camden, NJ!   Who are they going to keep awake, the crackheads in the ghetto around the arena??

I went to the show with my best childhood friend, who has seen every JP show with me since the Defenders tour in 1984, when I had to get my pothead uncle and his buddy to drive us to the show at the Capital Centre in Landover, MD.

My friend and I were very nervous about whether or not they would sprinkle in some old songs to go with the new Nostradamus material.  My friend thought they would.  I thought they would play the entire Nostradamus album.  We intentionally didn't read anything about the tour on the internet so we would be surprised.

Were we ever blown away!  Not only did they play some old stuff, they played old, B-side stuff that only a true fan would identify with.  He and I would look at each other with quizzical, then elated looks as the band played relatively obscure (to the casual fan) songs like "Devils Child", "Hell Patrol", "Between the Hammer and the Anvil",and "Rock Hard, Ride Free".  I almost came out of my skin and began to vigorously punch my friend in the arm (he's kind of big) as they ripped one of my favorite JP songs ever, "Dissident Aggressor".  I'm sure some young kid in the audience (there were several) wondered why in the world the Metal Gods were playing an "old Slayer song" live.  I believe I heard my friend explaining to his 15 year old son that "DA" was a JP original.  Awesome!  All the while my wife is staring at my friend and I like we've lost our minds; I told her it was a window to 25 years ago, when my friend and I were too young to drive to the concert, but we were just as hardcore then as we are now.

I could have done without Motorhead, for sure.  I like them, they're a good bar band, but I could hear 4 hours of Priest.  We didn't even get to see Testament as we were boozing in the parking lot and desparately looking for a place to piss.  Fortunately, my Camden-police officer-buddy who provided us police escort to the arena, showed us the way to the "VIP" port-a-pissers.

I didn't take my 10 year old son, who I just took to see Iron Maiden at the same arena just last month, because I was afraid of what he would see and/or hear with Motorhead.  Unfortunately, I could have because you couldn't understand anything Lemmy's drunk ass was saying.  I will always regret not taking him because JP and especially Rob, probably don't have a lot left in the tank.  I hope I'm wrong about that.

Thanks, Priest, for allowing me to be 16 years old again, if at least for 90 minutes.

i totally agree with you Maple Syrup. Food and beer prices go up,parking fees go up, souvenir stuff goes up, and what's with the convenience charge of $20.00. If that's parking $20.00 a head to park is highway robbery. I'm going to the PNC show also. I think this tour would have been better off with just one of these two bands, testament or motorhead. I don't care flip a coin, i will see neither of them today/tonight, and have blown them off before to party longer in the parking lot. If you have to park in the parking lot  on the other side of the parkway, allow time to walk. I think they did away with the buses that take you back and forth, due to the gas issue, i'm told. Enjoy the show,
THE METAL GODS ARE IN TOWN TONIGHT.......
IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT AND THE PRIEST IS BACK!
[Maple Syrup] Friday, August 08, 2008 7:33:40 PM
This is bullshit that Priest has to cut their setlist short because of the noise curfew alot of the outdoor venues have in place. Most have an 11pm curfew which means Priest has to cut 2-3 songs off their setlist. Total crap as there is no need for 4 fuckin bands on the bill. Someone already mentioned a weeknight with four bands?? Come on please. We dont really need Motorhead and Testiclement to load up on their useless songs so we get less Priest. So I am going to PNC tomorrow, fully aware of the 11pm curfew so Priest wont play Death, Sinner & Hell Patrol because of it. Testiclement should go on earlier to accomidate for full Priest set for christs sake its Saturday night. I also heard H&H is playing 9 songs which is another insult which I wont get into. Get off the stage early: Testiclement & Motorhead, so we get more of the Metal Gods. Total Total Bullshit Live Nation. Can I deduct this from the convenience charge on my ticket, Ticketass? I didnt think so.. MSyrup
