They`re both mediocre! Let`s face it......AC/DC have been doing the same guitar solo/song for thirty years! THEY`RE GONE! Saxon......I`m not even going to bother answering the question.........TO OLD,TO OUTDATED,TO SUCKFULL TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!! THEY BOTH SUCK!!!!! Bon Scott was the essence that drove AC/DC but Brian Johnson is a wanna be!!!!!!Edited at: Monday, October 27, 2008 6:14:42 AM Edited at: Monday, October 27, 2008 6:17:00 AM |

AWESOME. I took a look at ACDC's Live 2 Disc Collector's Edition from their 1991 The Razors Edge tour and Saxon's The Eagle Has Landed Part II from their 1995 Dogs Of War tour. I tried to compare which has more intensity and makes one rock my balls off more. I can't make my mind which does a better job. I love Brian's raw high pitch vocals mixed with Angus' and Malcolm's dynamic duo chainsaw wall of sound with their guitaring and Chris Slade adding a solid drum sound which ACDC has never seen before. However, on Saxon's live album, Paul and Doug really do the job just as good if not better, I'm unsure of Biff's vocals in comparison to Brian's as I prefer high pitch to ghostly sounding, but the bass is a lot stronger here, and the drums are sensational, after all Nigel is a far better drummer to Chris Slade. Nonetheless, I deem these two albums two of possibly the greatest live albums in the hard rock / classic rock / heavy metal genre. Great to see both bands in their very prime churning out live material for their fans. Give your thoughts which you like better. Edited at: Friday, September 19, 2008 3:26:34 AM |
