Axl Rose is a washed up singer/screecher who simply doesn't give a damn about his fans--I was a big time fan of GNR back in the day--worked a lot of overtime just to buy tickets to the Faith No More/Metallica/GNR super show back in the summer of 1991 or so --the Washington , DC concert was 1 of the best I've seen but the Meadowlands concert was ridiculous--had 25 th row seats--some idiot threw something at Axl & he stops singing cold turkey --threw the mike stand down & stormed off the stage --the band kept playing on --I guess thinking he went backstage to cool off or something & after 10 minutes the announcer came on stage & said that Axl had already left--now in my opinion -why didn't security just take the asshole who through whatever on stage out of the arena & give Axl time to cool down--they were only into about the 10th song or so--needless to say the crowd started out by booing & then the seats were being ripped off the floor & thrown toward the stage --me & my friends high-tailed it outta there at that point & I vowed never to see GNR live again----then on the MTV music awards they played their new song & said the new cd would be out soon -well that's been over 10 years & still no word --so I probably won't buy it if it does come out--he doesn't respect his fans then I can't respect him--I've been to many concerts where stuff has been thrown on stage but this was the only one I'd been at where they actually left the arena without finishing |

Hi VOM, as you well know, I can have differing views than most mainstream, and I really hardly ever am critical of another persons opinion, I believe we are all entitled to one, and it should therefore be respected as such. But I can be overly passionate when it comes to my music and the entertainers that provide it.
This is just another, among many, many, many attributes that I love about Priest. No one can tell me that the individual members got along all the time (less Halford leaving and all that) for how many years now?? Yet, they always put the band first!!! Other than the different drummers and Rob's contract problems when it came to doing 'other than Priest' music, no individual was bigger than the band!!!
I normally don't post offensive language, just when fitting a humorous moment, but Axl makes me want to rip his head off his shoulders. I feel the same way about some pro athletes as well, but that's another thread .
Maybe next year we can meet the Mets in the NLCS. Besides, we have that black cat issue to deal with .

Sorry I came off so harsh, it's just that I really liked GnR, and for what happened to the band, the way it all went down, and all the outward fighting and everything...they took something great and literally destroyed it...how can I respect that?...I just wish they'd all go away and leave me to my CDs...![](/FCKeditorNEW/editor/images/smiley/fun/obanon.gif) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by ronhartsell from Sunday, October 05, 2008 9:15:30 AM) | ![](1.gif) | ronhartsell wrote: | | I could give a flying f#*k about Axl or GnR anymore. I found this article:
www.gnrdaily.com/news_detail.asp
One of the big revelations in Slash's new autobiography is how the original Guns N' Roses split up and Axl Rose gained control of the group and name.
Just how did that "new Guns" come about? It started when Axl and the band's manager had the other members of the band sign a contract that gave Axl control of the group name if they ever broke up.
And that's exactly what Axl did, he broke the group up. Slash writes that the break up was caused by "Axl wanting control to the point that the rest of us were strangled." Then on August 31, 1995 Axl dropped a bomb on Duff and Slash, the only remaining members at the time, when sent them a letter "saying he was leaving the band and taking the name with him under the terms of the contract." Of course, Slash and Duff were invited to still be part of Axl's band. And we know how that worked ou |

I'd pay to see Axl, Buckethead, Robin Finck and Brain, regardless of who the other players are. Although I'll never consider that as Guns N' Roses, those four are an awesome combination. I can say alot about Axl Rose, like how he's one of the biggest assholes in the music biz, if not the biggest. He's a dirty peace of shit more for the way he treats people, and fans, and the people who are supposed to be close to him. The guy thinks he's the center of the universe, but whatever, there are alot of people in the world who think like that. Really it was the rest of the bands fault for being pussies and giving into the asshole, and if he was going to quit then they should have said go ahead, he probably would have given up and just went along with them. If they wouldnt have just gave in, the band may have still dispanded but Rose would have had to make a new band. Really everyone played a part. I used to think Axl was a very talented guy, but latly his voice has really been annoying me, and even the classic GNR has gone down in my books just because of his voice. So i think he'll get what he deserves in the end.maybe the stupid album will come out, but you watch it'll have taken so long, not that many people will even care. Unless buckethead is really still going to be in the band, then sadly ill have to pay some attention. |

Well jimmyjames everything shitty he's done is a direct result of him seizing the name. You shouldn't be so brainwashed. Why support him so he can sit on his ass more? If the media had any common sense, they would have destroyed him by publically exposing his seizure of the Gn'R name and slanting him for using the Gn'R name without the Gn'R band. That band of Axl's isn't and never will be Gn'R.

It's his band, he can do what he wants with it, without him there wouldn't have even been a Guns N Roses. As for how he ended up with control of the band, your talking about something that happend 17 years ago, who cares, it's history, if you don't like Rose or his new version of the band don't listen to them, don't go to their shows, don't buy their cd if it ever comes out, vote with your wallet. |

Chinese Democracy should be released but NOT under the name Guns N' Roses. And as for Axl shows...they're not that good, it's just him with another band playing Guns N' Roses songs, falsely calling themselves Guns N' Roses. Did you even read about what I mentioned about how Axl got the name Guns N' Roses? Part of the reason these two were kicked out is because they were always wasted all the time and couldn't contribute anything, Slash is always going on about how fucked up he was on heroin and booze, Duff was a bad alcoholic as well, who wants to work with assholes like that. I hope that Chinese Democracy, when it is released does well and justifies the time spent on it. Axls shows in NZ and Australia last year were awesome, hope he gets down here again soon, with a new album under his belt. |

This guy has to be one of the biggest shitheads in the history of rock music. If anybody remembers, back in 1991 before the release of Use Your Illusion albums, he walked up to the band and threatened to quit the band including not laying down vocals for the album unless they sign him over the band name rights. That's how this guy owns the name Guns N' Roses. Additionally, he wanted everything his way after the albums and the tour. The problem was...he already killed the band in 1991 when he took the name, and a few years later after their long Use Your Illusion tour, he slowly pushed them out one by one, and has continued to use the name Guns N' Roses without ANY other original members. It really shits me off that this shithead still continues to use that name, just to grab cash. The only reason he ever tours is to regain money he's lost wasting it on Chinese Democracy which isn't even Guns N' Roses. I think any true Guns N' Roses fan would not go to another Axl concert if it's just him and yet says Gn'R, and would not buy Chinese Democracy if it is released as Guns N' Roses. This guy needs to realise he is the FORMER Guns N' Roses singer, as they have been broken up, and needs to either stop using the name or call them back, and distribute the band name equally through all the original members.
