I agree with paco1161. I find it a fascinating album and it's on daily.
As for someone moaning about too many threads about it, I find this site is full of pointless threads. Keep to JP issues not all that other crap about comparing Rob with Donald Duck or whoever.

Excellent album, mature, profound with a great story taken from a very human perspective. Just masters like Judas Priest dare to do something different, of course, remaining faithful to their style. The album is so powerful and sophisticated, it`s glorious !!!. Judas Priest must be really proud of what they accomplished in Nostradamus. This album is the best present I could get and I`d love to listen to the whole record live.

Personally, I find the album to be a side step from the usual compositions Priest have given us over the years. Nostradamus is a project, something I think they felt they need to do and should be taken as such. It still reflects their musical character but headed in a different direction. I really like the album and find it to be their most mature musical acomplishment. As a concept album, it kindda reminds me a little of the Alan Parson Project with their early albums only much heavier!

Good album in a new unchartered territory for Priest. Can't get enough of it and I appreciate reading through all the Nostradamus threads because there is always something new to find in each listen. I don't listen to it very much lately because I want to keep the feeling of it fresh in my memory. I would think people want to talk about Nostradamus a little on their own terms, ask their own questions that the other threads don't ask. It doesn't bother me one bit that there are a dozen or so threads about an album Judas Priest released this year.

My opinion about the character himself, well, I think he's highly overrated. His prophecys concerned nothing but his own time and he would be risking his life over a lot less than what he said, whichever way you look at it because it was standard practice at the time to be groveling and hoping for the good favors of a ruler, catholic, protestant, buddhist or muslim. Every literate person back then walked a fine line if they wanted to have a good life. Nostradamus, in comparison to many, was a very lucky individual who had friends in the right places and who never personally suffered torture. His lifes tragedies in fact are nothing extraordinary and his life is actually not extraordinary at all.
Judas Priest has succeeded in making interesting something I usually find rather dull. But then, Judas Priest could make a potato interesting just by the sheer power of their awesomeness...

Here's my opinion:  Great album.

Also, there are 9 (count them: 9) friggin' Nostradamus threads scattered across the Noticeboard.  Why won't people take the time to use an existing thread and not clutter up the board with duplicate threads????

Can't agree on that one. Jugulator was raw and angry, Demolition was almost (oh shit - I hate that word and genre) Nu-Metal so how could you get that feeling while listening to Nostradamus?

I like Nostradamus (heck, I'm listening to it right now), but I wouldn't compare it to Ripper-era material. I don't hear any gory lyrics, nor cursing for that matter. Nostradamus vs. Jugulator and Demolition are completely different from each other, IMO...

I really like it. It has great moments. I'm looking forward to the next album with a lot more speed and a grimmier, dirtier sound. It really is a tough subject to write about.
Nostradamus is very polished, sometimes to a fault, as my own personal taste lately tends towards the earlier blues rather than the gothic/electronic/power metal of today. I still love the first cd more than the second but they complement each other very well. It's a good time hearing it every time.
Love to read Judas Priest is touring again.

For the most part the album sucks. I've tried so hard to get into it, but failed sadly. Don't insult Tim by comparing it. NosraBOREus.

as i listen through the new album, it gives me a feel like the jp albums in the ripper period, as for the music content. what do you think?
