The guys from Priest have said in numerous interviews that Nostradamus is best enjoyed in it's entirety... it tells a story, if you go and listen to a handful of songs you sell yourself short.
I think the fact that they have only included two songs in the setlist just confirms this. They are going to play the album live as it is meant to be experienced... in it's entirety later 09'. They don't feel the need to waste our time by giving us bits and pieces of the album... they give us just enough to wet our appetite. Which i feel they did by playing only 2 of the songs on the 08' tour.

Im a young-ish fan also being 19. but  i come from England so  iv had the privilege of seeing the band 3 times soon to be 4 in Febuary.
i understnd why people want classics when they havent seen the band.
& i understand why people that have, want them to mix up the set list or play  Nostradamus in full.

we all have are fav's but at the end of the day Priest could play all of turbo lol & i would still be there.

I too am a younger fan and have never seen Priest live before, but the lack of new stuff in their setlist seems to suggest that they don't have any confidence in their new stuff impressing anyone- they sould be proving it can stand alongside the classics, not ignoring it.

Just because you want want to hear more Nostradamus doesn't make you more "core"..... You just need to realise that both of us are young fans... there are those who have grown before us in our country that never got to experience the British Steel tour or the Vengeance tour, Defenders Tour, Turbo tour, Painkiller tour....... they want the classics, as do us young ones who have never had the privledge (until now) of seeing these songs performed by our Gods...... After seeing the recent tour i am now prepared too see Nostradamus.... *rubbing hands in glee* .... yes i am sooooo ready for it now...

I would love to see Painkiller, Stained Class..... Hell most of their albums in their entirety........ that does not make me a hardcore fan..... it just means i love them to death, as i know you do. Please, just understand that they have to cater to a huge fan base that extends 4 generations +..... they can't do everything that each of us desire.

Well said. I agree with a lot of things you said. Maybe I'm a bit more hardcore into Judas Priest and was hoping to hear more new songs than just Prophecy and Death. I'm sure a lot of others share this same point of view.

Ok no offence buddy, but for us especially being Aussies we only just had Judas Priest play here for the first time ever. So even if they were playing more Nostra in the U.S and Europe I would expet them to play more from their previous albums in our set list... which they did. Because most of us here have never experienced these songs live - especially for the older generation of fans who have been waiting for an eternity too see them.
When they come back with the full set of Nostra then i will be ready to absorb it all. But I tell ya if Nostra was my first JP experience i would feel a bit of a let down. I wanted to hear HBFL, YGATC, Devils Child, Electric Eye.... etc. Putting 2 in from the new album in was in a way a little bit of a sneak preview as to what will be instore for us when we see the album performed in its entirety.
Myself i love Future Of Mankind and would love to hear that one live, God willing they bring the set down here to OZ I will be granted that.
Bottom line being, i would not have changed anything on the set list from this tour and i am extremely greatful that they took the time to come down and play 5 shows in OZ. Cos it was about bloody time!!

I play the entire Nostradamus album every now and then. It kicks ass. But what I was trying to get at is that they have an album out and are playing only 2 songs from it. And yes they kinda slow down the setlist, both being slow songs. That's why something new and fast should be inserted....like Nostradamus, I mean that song plays on CD when the show ends. Why not just play it at the show.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Maple Syrup from Thursday, November 13, 2008 1:10:41 PM)

I agree, when i go to a metal show i want metal, not long winded operatic stuff, if i wanted that i'd go see Les Miserables.

Even the songs they did play from NSTRDMS on this tour were boring and had knowwhere near the energy of the classics. Be careful what you wish for... it may put you to sleep. Maplesyrup

Yea but if they are going to play the whole thing live, they might as well save it.
all though one more couldent hurt, perhaps Alone instead of Angel.

Anybody else here feel the lack of new songs on this tour? It seems very absurd to me that they've been sent on the road, having released an amazing album, and only playing 2 new songs live. Even more conflictingly to me, they play the studio track Nostradamus as they finish the show, just as background music, instead of playing it at the show. There's a lot of great material on that album, and playing only 2 new songs is kinda silly. They should include at least say Visions and Nostradamus. I hope by 2nd European leg they will fix that error and inject more new songs in the set.
