The Rage would be cool to see Live, so would Savage. |

I have seen the live Vengeance '82 DVD. What I was trying to say is that Wheels Of Fire has a more aggressive musical approach than Devil's Child. Devil's Child has this crispy golden sound to it, and flows through pretty efficiently. Wheels Of Fire is heavier, and has a rhythm you can really headbang to. It's only filler on the AOR album because the band's management stupidly didn't promote it. IMO instead of Promoting the mediocre Revolution and Worth Fighting For, they should have gone right for the throat and promoted Judas Rising, and Wheels Of Fire....it is the most radio friendly song that 'Priest have ever made. But Wheels of Fire is a filler song on AOR. Devil's Child is bad ass. Have you seen the Live Vengeance Dvd? Having One Shot At Glory instead of Hell Patrol, and putting Between The Hammer And The Anvil before Eat Me Alive would work too. I guess I just wanna hear One Shot At Glory....I was hyped when I saw it was the number one voted song by fans to hear live and...nothing happened the song wasn't played last year. This time around I hope we get to hear it live. Maybe if you switch BTHATA and Eat Me Alive in the 2008 setlist, then there will be a smoother transition of the energy and power of the band. If you really want One Shot at Glory, then keep it where you want it to be in the setlist. You placed it in a pretty good part of your setlist.
Another thing: Where the heck did you get this info about Ohe Shot at Glory being the number one song voted to hear live? I, for the life of me, don't remember hearing such a thing. | | Cobras-Aura wrote: | | Dawn Of Creation / Prophecy

My theory: The 2008 setlist is excellent everywhere else except one key element: bruiser songs. That includes Between The Hammer And The Anvil and Hell Patrol. The setlist builds up to BTHATA and the song is not that much of an energy release...it doesn't even have double bass drumming, its solo is ok but could be better. Demonizer would perfectly fit into here...it's heavy, lots of double bass and a killer solo...plus it has not been played yet. As for Hell Patrol....a bit of underdog without Rob's screams. One Shot At Glory was the number one voted song to hear live, so why not replace Hell Patrol with this? I'd say BTHATA & HP are the only songs that need changing. I really hope 'Priest see this and consider it. Anybody else like this idea?
PLEASE PRIEST CONSIDER THIS FOR A SETLIST CHANGE IT WOULD BE PERFECT IMO Edited at: Thursday, February 05, 2009 5:53:15 AM |

I think they should spice everything up and start the set off with Jugulator and end it with Cathedral Spires. Also throw Blood Stained in there somewhere. Think Rob Halford could hack it? |

icecreamman,
You are correct. Most people would dissagree.
Personally PAINKILLER is my favorite song by the band, but I cringe when i hear it live as well.
Demonizer is a fantastic choice.

I know you guys are going to hate me for this, but Painkiller has never really sounded that great live. I think it should be replaced by Metal Meltdown (Including the incredible intro) which I think would be an acceptable substitute. Hell Bent for Leather is a way better show closer than You've Got Another Thing Comin'. Also You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise hasn't been played since the British Steel Tour
(I think) and is one of my favorite songs off that album. Also Angel is a great song and I hated cutting it from the setlist, but I did that to make room for Nostradomus. Please do not kill me for this....... |

Again I would leave Between The Hammer And The Anvil in the set list, I'd take out Hell Patrol but I'd include One Shot At Glory, the order of the songs would have to be different.....
after One Shot At Glory Eat Me Alive goes perfect, and put it after Metal Gods is quite cool too.... Between The Hammer and The Anvil is 'explosive' enough, enough 'energy release' as you say to put it after Angel IMO, it starts quite calm, then the drums, that riff, and then Rob screaming, it goes perfect..... and then The Hellion / Electric Eye is more explosive.....
this would be if I had to make some changes in the current set list... I'd love to see One Shot At Glory live, this is the first I thought of... what does anybody else think? do you like this set list?
