I know what you mean. I KNOW, when I have pneumonia, which thank god i have not had since 1987! But I had it so many times as a child, I KNOW when I have it, then have to wait forever to see a doctor, wait for the X-rays, and all the while I feel like I will die from lack of breath. Don't care which country, healthcare sucks.

Healthcare here is pretty good, the thing that frustrated me today is I knew exactly what was wrong and what was needed, but because it was a thing where I needed a prescription I had to wait for a doctor, lol.

Hey, people complain about doctors in places like Mexico and Brazil. Hell, I'll take either ANY day over the USA. They are usually very well-educated and, even more, can actually SEE you when needed. Here, if you don't already have your own illness diagnosed via the internet, good luck trying to get your Dr. to figure it out in the five minutes they spend with you.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Monday, June 29, 2009 9:03:53 PM)

Healthcare everywhere sucks, even if the country has a national plan it does not mean you get any better or faster service. But it's a shame to pay so much out of my pay check every two weeks just to be insured as well, and still get shitty service.

I get the feeling it's people who are worried they have swine flu or some rubbish taking up appointments at the doctors, when they have been told to ring a healthline first. Plus people just get sick HEAPS at the time of year. But yeah, slow service when it comes to health care really sucks and is frustrating.

Wow! Sorry to hear that you are ill but that sort of service with regard to healthcare just amazes me.

Here (at least where I live...middle of nowhere) you either wait around 2 weeks to see your regular doctor or go to the (usually slow / over-used) Emergency Room. Sucked when I had the flu last year. By the time you get to see a doc, you are over it. Yeah, healthcare here sucks!

Yeah I did, no appointments available yesterday, and today my usual doctor was fully booked from first thing, so I had to go to a casual place and wait for AGES to finally have a doctor see me, then get my prescription.

LOL!
Man I am bored, I'm home alone till tomorrow morning and don't really want to go outside. I have conjunctivitis (lovely, not) and actually feel pretty unwell on top of that. My body gets no reprieve from illness! LOL!

Just as long you weren't wearing gryffindor robes and didn't scribble a lightning bolt on your forehead then it's cool, haha.

Haha that's awesome! I was always in line for my reserved copy too, with the last one I got a little Hedwig soft toy. It was also the day that Craig and I got engaged, so I was on a massive high that day for several reasons LOL!

Such a good series of books I was standing in line each summer with all the kids and parents, but there for myself! HA!! The last book midnight sale I was there and had been the the nearby pub for about and hour so I was really hyper! I kept answering all the trivia questions, and winning little prizes, and then I won one of the ultimate prizes. I was third in line, due to a drawing to get my reserved copy! Went from about 75th in line to 3rd! I was one happy camper! I actually took the day off after the book release because I knew I would read it from cover to cover with very little sleep involved. Huge fan of the books.
