A wise decision! Besides you'll make new friends talking to the new fans around you! Definately first few rows.... The idea (In my mind anyway) of going to see a gig is to get as close as possible to the band and rocking out. Even if it means losing your mates in the chaos of it all. To me a concert is both a group and individual experience... before the gig have some drinks, a bbq whatever with your mates if you can manage to stick together though the gig that's great but if not it's time spent between you, the band, and a couple of thousand sweaty strangers who all love the same band as you.
Ohhh lordy I need to go to another gig! ![](/FCKeditorNEW/editor/images/smiley/fun/halm.gif) |

I agree, If I'm not close enough to see the expression on the band's faces, I don't want to be there! |

Solo. First few rows is my vote. I did a suite once to be with friends back in the day for Metallica. I repent having done so to the day. I could have been watching it on television for as far away and "detached" I felt from the rest of the crowd. Just wasn't the same. Never again. Got to meet my all-time heroes and had a top-5 day of my life. So, they are coming back in a few months for the British Steel 30-year anniversary tour, and a co-worker has access to suite tickets, which are supposed to be stage level, but rear of arena. Do I spend $65 for the suite ticket, or try my hand at ticketmaster in getting up front again? None of my buddies are up for going front-5 rows with me, so I may be going solo. I'm torn - suite with friends, or solo up front. I'm leaning toward solo. Thoughts?? |
