MTV has missed the boat for so many years they're not only water-logged but they got barnacles growing on their dicks and tits. It would be ok if all they played was nothing but videos and concerts. Hello! I think that was their original outset was when they started. So who soaked up the deck but those barnacle corporate mongers!

As far as an award show goes they get more respect through the Revolver/Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards. Though its broadcast on Vh1 here in the States its the best thing for metal. The only way for our favourite music to get the public recognition they deserve is to do it ourselves. Fuck the Grammy's.

people that likes & know about music gives a damn about MTV ... or at least that's my impression ... anyway, in argentina mtv is not a very popular channel ... and that's because it sucks ... =P

I agree there are people that don't know who Priest are but at the same token I think the point Justin was trying to make was that MTV could have got someone who was up on this type of Music and knew some history about the band rather than getting one of there little Gimps to do a plug when it was suppossed to be an interview of Priest not to market off a really tasteless and bad Tv Show.

I agree it wasn't a good interview in regards that the Twit from Jersey shore  was interviewing them. They Could have least got someone with a functioning Brain Cell other than Snookie. I personally thought She was both Rude and Unprofessional whoring off her show when it was supposed to be an interview about Priest. I'm sure if Rob or Glen or KK and Ian or Scott had the chance to interview someone for example Randy Couture or Chuck Lidell I'm sure they'd be professionals about it and ask questions about there Fight career and MMA.I'm sure they wouldn't bring up Priest through the whole interview.I think they'd have more respect for other people than the lack of respect that the Twat from Jersey Shore doled out on them.  [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by kenny from Wednesday, February 10, 2010 4:03:25 PM)

when MTV first started broadcasting I thought It was the coolest thing ever .
But now , Almost 30 years later, I see how It ruined rock and roll.
MTV took a huge business and made a MASSIVE GLOBAL business. It took the mystique away !!
MTV and record companys in general are CORPORATE ASSHOLES !! they took the bands and music that we all love and care about and used it for their own gain only to toss them aside later in favor of the NEXT BIG THING ( rap , girl groups , boy bands etc. )
they USE people then turn their backs (on bands and musicians ) like they were never anything to them at all
MTV SUCKS

It's reality that there are ppl who don't know Judas Priest at all.
If someone asks me about 5th famous country musician or the top leader of African country, I wouldn't know.
She should've checked names and pics of nominees but probably she couldn't remember all.

This incident, as an example, shows Judas Priest that they have still reasons to continue spreading Heavy F*cking Metal !

ABOUT MTV DISRESPECTFULL JUDAS PRIEST...

I am  a music fan and also a musician too,and i use to watch all music shows, from the small ones, such as my local events, like our"Golden Deer Festival " to the other local like "San Remo Festival"and to the big ones like "Eurovision Contest","Music Awards",Grammy",Rock&Roll Hall of Fame, etc and even the music channels ,such as this MTV.
I used that in my past to watch at MTV a lot,I used to watch every day the new bands and special in weekends at the top songs, and in the past was true that they had more many rock bands on their channel and even on top,but i never saw some with Judas Priest,or maybe i missed some, but now, actualy,i stoped to watch too much at Mtv,cause they don't have such many rock bands anymore, and neither in top,and Judas Priest,no way, neither at that "Bring the Noice",which supposed to be about rock bands.
I think that Is true that fact that Judas Priest, even if in the fans eyes are one of the best heavy metal bad ever, also some big corporations such as this MTV,disrespects them, and in fact Mtv disrepects ussualy the rock music, but special the Judas Priest.
I am affraid that is very true the motto which say that nobody can be king in his own country but just in other,so if we believe in this motto, then we will see that Judas Priest bring more succes and popularity in Usa,than in Uk,but also is true that nobody like to give a diploma or a troffe to a foreigner citizen, and if we believe in that too, then we wil see that Judas Priest not received such many diplomas and troffe from Usa corporations, they got  their first Grammy after 30 years of music just, they didn't got a place in International Hall of Fame yet,and they are not shows on Mtv.
I see that sad but true thing happen in my country when, with our music,in festivals and contests, every talente human we have here is not recognize here, and stay away, and is obligated to go outside to be recognized and there will be for sure, but will not got who knows what trofee cause they are just a romanians citizen and not uk,or americans,or etc.
Its a real sad thing, but true one what happen with the music and with the bands and its  a shame to judge the music in different ways just because one came from
Uk and other from Usa,when in fact the music is just music, not matter from where that comes and should be recognize in the same way.
I,as a music fan but musician too,is not easy for me to stay away by this fact,to hide this or to not speak loud about this, even if i know i can't do nothing for to change this, like Judas Priest, which they can't do nothing for this too, with the exception they have such many fans in all over the world to sustain them, that they don't need that fucking recognises from such corporations as MTV.

pop music and heavy metal rarely blend...
mtv sucks anyway.
would any regular metalhead watch mtv anyhow???
[MetalPixie] Friday, February 12, 2010 12:19:10 PM
and the funniest thing????  MTV posts an article about Snookie's first interview being Priest - and how they are FANS of the SHOW!
Now, I listened to the "interview" - and that is NOT the impression I got at all.
It's called sarcasm.  And it was beautifully doled out by two professional gentlemen.
Criminies ... even I know who she is and I most definitely do not watch the show.
However, I guess we can all be accused of being "fans" of train-wrecks at one time or another.
sheeesh ...

Doesnt either surprise me

Kenny, I agree that it's ignorant, careless and tasteless, but there's sooo much of this in the world that I'v given up fretting about it.

I love Priest's music, I think the guys are great, and I'm thrilled about all the wonderful music that's being made these days by Priest and many other bands. It's truly awesome

And    there are sooo many great artists in other fields. E.g. just think about David Lynch's fabulous movies.

Andyou know what:  I care f*a* about Grammy, Oscar, Nobel and all the other glamorous shoulder-clapping crap. Really: f*a*.

I think we Northern Europeans are more relaxed about this stuff. I love a lotta American culture and philosophy, but the bulk of Americans are like children. "Daddy, he smiled at me !"

I better beat it now ....

Nicky.

After watching video of Rob and Scott's "Interview" at the grammys I am disgusted.
Here is the greatest heavy metal band in the world on the red carpet and who do they get interviewed by?: one of the skanks from jersey shore. She didn't even know who they were. Instead of even trying to ask ANY relevant question to the band it was: "Who are you?" and "Have you seen my show?".
I know I am biased because PRIEST is my favorite band, but MTV clearly showed no respect to the true pioneers of metal music. They just sent their "representative" to get 15 minutes of more publicity for their show. I have nothing against self promotion, but do it properly and not by treating music legends as an afterthought because they think Judas Priest is a band no one still cares about.
I still care.
We still care.
