Agreed man. I remember going to Detroit to see UFC 9. I didn't know it at the time but that sh*t was in the U.S.
Supreme Court that day. They were trying to ban it. I wouldn't say they wussified it but they took some of the excitement
out of it. It was definitely more brutal back then. Knees to the head when they were down, head butts, groin shots. I was
at an Extreme Fighting event, I think it was their very first one. Anyway these two guys are clinched in the middle of the
ring with not too much action going on. I saw that one of them had an open groin shot so I yelled "Knee him in the groin".
About a half second later he kneed him in the groin and dropped him. He jumped on top and beat him into submission.
Those were the good old days. At one of the Ultimates I went to this dude got his head busted open. The other guy
took his fingers and tore the cut open. The dude was bleeding worse than I ever saw anyone bleed. Literally like a
faucet on low. Even though the "No Rules" was better they had to stop stuff like that. They would have banned it altogether
because that sh*t would have sickened people to it. With the rules it has gotten as big as boxing and it is still real fighting.
I was starting to like Pride more than UFC also. I think UFC bought them out. I may be wrong on that. Take care man.

UFC #2 was my first time watching mma
I never really watched a lot of pay per views i wait until our local video store gets the events in
( they have tons of them ) the tournament style they started with should never have been stopped
once the politicians got involved they wussified the sport adding rules, making them wear gloves, etc.
before zuffa bought them out, i was liking the pride fighting championships a lot more
there really is'nt any real vale tudo anywhere but brazil these days
it's a shame , i liked the no rules format a lot better

Yes.
I started watching that shit on UFC 2. I saw every UFC until they got to the 50's and the cost got too high.
I've been to Extreme Fighting events and I was lucky enough to go to UFC 7 and 9. 7 was the last eight man
tournament and the last time for no rules. 9 was the first time they did what they now call fight cards.(single fights)
We got to go to the after parties with the fighters. That was pretty cool. I'd post photo's but I'm trying to stop
doing that. They don't go over too well here, I have a tendency to over do it. Have you been to any MMA events?
Do you remember when the UFC first began the tournaments. Figters had to win three fights in one night to be
called UFC champion. That shit was brutal.
