Global-Metal-Vocal_\m/_  contest show,  would be cool-maybe a la internet,.then audition when it rolls into town.I Anything goes Screamo to Sabastian Bach-And get this .. they could have retired Metal-Gods on the pannel. (been afew as of late)

He did a good job, but damn they cut the guitar solo!  I didn`t see it until after I heard about it, but  it gave the chills to see the Priest  represented on national TV,. Of course I still get excited everytime that fu*&ing Honda van commercial comes on!

I didn't think it was great but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I've never watched a single episode of American Idol
but the fact someone did a Priest song is so cool.
(I still won't watch it though.)

Wasnt so sure of it personally, but I did like the wail near the end, he does have a great range. a Rock band would really suit him.

I normally shun at artists who come from the Idol shows, but I seriously hope this guy can make it big. Traditional style heavy metal should be represented in the media much more than what it is now. If the Idol format can finally produce a good heavy metal singer, it's a great thing.

I hope he won't be like the "heavy metal" guy we had in our local Idols a few years back. He didn't sound too bad, but he looked like a 12-year old metal-wannabe and both of his albums were more like watered-down hard rock than actual heavy metal. While they did sell a lot, most of the buyers were actually the kind of people who usually don't listen to metal. I mean, his fanbase consisted largely of schoolkids (mostly girls) and their mothers. Moreover, he was very arrogant and proud of himself and pissed off more than a few old Finnish rock musicians.

Since then he has joined a rather unknown band and faded into obscurity pretty much. Thank goodness for that.

 I so loved that the other night... I sure hope that he gets into the top 5 and move onto the number one slot!  He rocked!   I was totally blown away....  wonder what the guys (JP crew) thought of it?  I bet they had to have been honored.

Now that I gave it a couple more listens, I think this boy could easily front a metal band quite successfully.  He's definitely got pipes, just needs a bit of tweeking...perhaps a master class with Rob!!

It's pretty cool eh! In saying that, he chose a very mainstream Priest song (Priest none the less!!!), and I would love to see him try to tackle something like Beyond the Realms of Death. That would be a VERY big challenge for him I think.

Yup, he sure does. I was in the other room when Mark was channel surfing during a commercial and this popped on. I came running in thinking WTF?? Who's singing You've Got Another Thing Coming??? I saw the American Idol symbol and couldn't believe it!  I didn't see or hear the entire thing, so THANKS Becks!!

LOL - Holy Sh*t, I don't freakin believe it - some dude performed YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING on American Idol - This is one for the books!!!!!!!  It was OK, but the fact remains - metal is breaking the barriers!!!!!!
