I haven't been on this board in a few years, but just re-signed up so I could tell the world how awesome Priesat was in Edmonton on Tuesday night! The guys played like the warriors they are, for about 2 hours 45 minutes. I anticipated them busting out just a few songs where Rob could hit the high notes just to say "See, I can still do it when I want to", but he was going upstairs all freaking night! He truly IS THE metal God! And Rob let the crowd sing all of "Breaking The Law"- my voice is just coming back, days later!
The band was great; Glenn as always, and Scott was a monster behind the kit- he makes it look so easy! Enjoyed Richie's performance immensely, he's a great fit for the band. Gained a whole new respect for Ian, however. He isn't fancy by any means, but I love the way he just leans right into it and gets the job done. Ian Hill's bass playing is, IMHO, the bedrock that the rest of the band stands on- well done, mate!
Thank you SO MUCH for coming to Edmonton! I had to drive 2 hours to get there then two hours to get home again, but would do it again in a heartbeat. You love your fans and it showed, I hope you felt the love we sent back to the stage!
THE THE METAL GODS!!

The band is just so professional and entertaining. For me, it was like my 1st time at Disneyland. The fans were loud and rocking hard, singing all the words and screaming loud. KK and Glenn were as tight as ever. Ian solid as a rock and Rob, what can you say. Halford is bar none the GREATEST heavy metal signer of all time. Almost two weeks has gone by since the show and I still cannot stop thinking about it. I so wish I could have caught them another night. Priest Rules! |

Thank you for that update, though it was posted over a month ago, I just read it. I posted something in the "Got my ticket" thread, my question was why has the Winston Salem had no floor or direct side seats available since damn near the tickets went on sale? We go to alot of shows in the Va. Beach area and I have a few theories but I just don't get it. The fact that good seats haven't been available since day one has me slightly baffeled, ORCH seats are out there, but of course they run $250 plus, which we are toying with going with, but damn after reading your post (Maple Syrup) and the fact that we are fairly up to speed on getting good seats we can't put a finger on it, unless one of my theories that BLS is drawing their following in droves. Just a little rant here while not getting it, thanks. The arena holds 20,000. I am also hearing tix sales have been poor in detroit and other parts of the US. IMO JP has saturated the US market in recent years touring here every summer pretty much since 2006 and add in KK's departure and Priest will not be seeing the crowds in the US that have had in Europe and South America/Mexico on this Epitaph tour. The sun is surely setting here in the US for Priest. Time to wave goodbye one last time.

Does anyone with tour information go on the noticeboard? I am going to try to find out what's going on from the Sovereign Center. I'll post after I get hold of someone. |

Any idea if they are doing a second U.S leg? And the date in NJ is listed on here but not any ticket sites. Anyone there have any ideas? |

| | spapad wrote: | | Most concerts in the U.S. are now seated concerts, which means that even on the floor they put folding chairs out and people are asigned seat numbers by their ticket. Nobody actually sits in them for the most part but security pretty much keeps you in the seats you have been asigned, now if there happens to be a few empty seats closer than you are, you can move to them, but if the original buyers of those seats show up you'll have to move back to your original seat.
Festival seating is when the floor is standing room only, which means there are no seats and your position in the crowd is only hampered by your ability to get to the front. These shows fell out of favor in the late 80's, early 90's due to a few crowd surges that killed a few people. So festival seating is usually only used in small venues these days.
