"Rob's vocals are some of the best I have heard"
Dude grab a copy of Sad Wings Of Destiny, and say that...I dare ya!
"and his lower range rasp is much more prominent on this album."
Rob's mid to low ranged vocals are all he has left, and that rasp in his voice is age dude!
I'm blown away at the praise he's getting for sounding old! LMFAO
If Nostradamus is the best they can put out...then they need to retire IMO!
Go listen to Alice Cooper, or Heart...they sound the same after all these years, or better stilll...listen to Turbo for synthesized Judas Priest that kicks ass better than Nostradamus!

I just listened to the CD. There's some gold stuff on there. Very diverse in style, including synthesised guitars, symphony, choir, accoustic guitars, synthesiser guitars, asides the normal guitars. Music quality is superb and mindblowing, a very powerful sounding record. Rob's vocals are some of the best I have heard and his lower range rasp is much more prominent on this album. The drums are heavy and perfect, again showing diversity from groovy simple beats, to technical and double bass. Favourite songs include Dawn Of Creation / Prophecy, Awakening / Revelations, The Four Horsemen / War, Death, Peace / Conquest, Persecution, Shadows In The Flame / Visions, Calm Before The Storm / Nostradamus so far. With that said, in loving 8/14 tracks at first proper listen of the album, this is set to be one of their best albums. Very epic, my respect for Judas Priest has only grown, for their effort to do something very new, fresh, something off their typical style and yet so right for such a band to tackle. To hear them play the entire album live next year will be killer. Edited at: Friday, June 13, 2008 9:25:35 PM |
