TOPIC: REVIEW OF NOSTRADAMUS
[Screamin' Demon] Sunday, June 15, 2008 12:58:37 AM
The album is purely amazing, very powerful, moving, showing a lot more emotion than any other Priest album. The band has shown a hunger as big as Painkiller in writing and recording this masterpiece. Rob's vocals are spot on. I like his use of heavy raspy vocals, and his opera on other occasions, as well as his high pitch. He has shown diversity once again. KK has again given us some great killer guitar solos, with Glenn right up there, providing amazing soulful guitar work. Ian's bass is much more prominent on this album than on any other Priest CD and it really works much better this way. Scott's drumming is outstanding, ranging from simple groovy and funky, to highly technical and double bass assault. The abundance of synthesiser guitars, symphony, choir, accoustic guitars and keyboards did not drag Priest down on this one....it added more flavour to their enormous wall of sound and is right at home with the Priest metal sound. I must proudly say, this album is as metal as it can get. My favourite songs include Dawn On Creation / Prohpecy,  Awakening / Revelations, The Four Horsemen / War, Peace / Conquest, Persecution, Shadows In The Flame / Visions, Calm Before The Storm / Nostradamus. Did Judas Priest make a masterpiece and a truly great metal album once again? HELL YES!!!
