I hear shades of Stained Class and Sad Wings of Destiny throughout Nostradamus, especially Rob's haunting expressive vocals and the mid-tempo doom of the guitars. But at the same time it's fused with the heaviness and depth of modern Metal. A very difficult and convincing feat!! I've only listened to it sparingly so far and I'm blown away! I can't wait to really dig into it several times. It's definitely NOT background music as someone already mentioned. I sat down last night with my fav beverages and really got into it. So far I rank it in the top six Priest releases! Maybe higher later..
